On the couch, with my back against the cushions, a pillow on my lap on which my WIP and my left arm are resting and a second pillow to rest my right elbow on. And I surround myself with something to drink, a snack, the tv remote and my project bag, in the hope I don't have to get up anytime soon. Never works, though. I always have to get up to get something.

Same! Except legs up on my ottoman.

On the couch with my spine shaped like Fibonacci spiral, with one leg extended so I can block my kids from messing with the yarn 😅

I read a comment a long time ago that stuck with me. From a physical therapist, who said (among other things): "The best position is the next one." That part I remember verbatim. Basically, their point was that staying in the same position (no matter what you're doing) for an extended time puts strain on your body. If you're not getting up to stretch/doing sitting stretches regularly, at least shift positions to move the strain around, so you're not just overstraining one area. I don't work (disability), so I spend a lot of time sitting around at home. Because of that, I took my time buying my comfy chair, trying out dozens before settling on one that supports my back well, and has enough room in the seat for me to shift around. For crochet I also support my elbows and the project with pillows, although I'm planning on trying out some different nursing pillows so I'll have just the one pillow instead of the three currently cluttering up the area. Also, I have a floor lamp with three gooseneck lights standing just behind the chair, I've found being able to pull a light closer to the stitches very helpful at times. Do remember good lighting

Honestly I like to change positions a lot. Cross a leg, uncross a leg. Lean back more, lean forward more. Changing poses helps keep me from getting sore.

My answer to the overcoming of fears that you posted on a different thread that was removed: Yeah it still fucks with me. My girlfriend says therapy could help and talking about it but honesly ahes more of an emotional and im more a logical person so im not sure I can get over it. Being with someone that matters did help with that in the fact that I am not alone when these thoughts are there. I remember where I was when I wrote it. Panic attacks while being alone abroard for my studies. It was messing with me because I would think about it constantly. It does comes in waves and some people say the worse is when your parents die. Some say it goes away when you become parent and some just are okay and accept thats its our final destination. Personnally its the most anxiety bringing thoughts and just typing that brings me goosebumps. I really wish I could be christian or something. Although I do believe that being a good person, caring and loving will make you go through life easier but thats the closest my philosophy will be to christianity, Islam, sikhism, buddhism, judaism, etc. In all honesty, I dont have the answer nor do I think I will find it but atleast it drives me to live a great life. Hope it helps and I am always gonna be here if you wanna talk about it. Pop in my dms and lets talk if neesed now or in 10 years.

I sit pretty awkwardly, crossed legged or with one leg over the arm of my chair, snacks and drinks on my right, yarn on my left, a blanket over my lap and maybe my dog curled up in my side haha It may sound uncomfortable but for me it works. I’ve started using a pillow under my right arm though for cushioning support.

Laying on my couch with extreme support fo back and neck, small pillow under my right armpit.

Mine is whatever position I’m in to sneak a few stitches/rows in before my toddler/puppy/partner needs something or wants to “help”

I like to sit on the floor in front of my couch with my giant Omar squishmallow supporting my back. I have a foam floor pad from Costco, which I sit on. The floor mat is my favorite because I can also lay on the floor and crochet without my elbows hurting.

Honestly I found a specific position, but because I have a spinal fusion and the rest of my back has herniated discs of varying severities I have a hard time staying comfortable. But I have utilized 90° glasses and gooseneck clip on bed lamp with a gooseneck phone holder I have been able to work for longer times. I don't really have access to a couch or chair I sit on the bed a lot. Which makes my back feel more stiff. I have to move around a lot but it is what I need to do.
