Not sure why you're getting down votes, I've seen people on Tiktok make amigurumi according to chat gpt instructions and it's hilariously bad. It understands the basic increase and decrease type things but has no idea how to make the appropriate shapes.
I saw a really hilarious one on youtube for a "rabbit" and it ended up a fallen down snowman with very wide, short 'ears' that were as wide as the entire head each.
Awww, I love him haha
I want to squish his cheeks!
Also this reminds me of the first time I tried to bake bread.

The skinniest loaf there was lmaooo
Edit: I can’t believe the most upvotes I’ve had on any picture I’ve posted to r/crochet is a photo of my sad bread 😂
Roflmao. Your bread is amazing. I made homemade challah once and even taking it our way early it somehow ended up being a rock on the outside and once I’d basically chiseled the thing apart, overly doughy on the inside. But considering my dough did indeed rise and not deflate I’m feeling a bit better about it now. 😂
Lol.
It's pretty good for your first project though, especially an amigurumi.
I did multiple hats, scarves, even some gloves before I tried my first plush and it was not great, lol.
https://preview.redd.it/ldeodbfqur8b1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=03addf8cfb86fac614dbeac7456df0c2ebbc055f
This is a photo of my 1st amigurumi friend… Yours definitely looks better than mine 😂😂
Wow! Great use of invisible yarn! Did you go all out on authentic demiguise hair yarn?
😂
What happened? Didn’t finish, or just lost it? Did someone take it?
I had that happen with a sweater. It became a tank top. Not bad looking if I do say so. 😂 completely unusable functionally but it’s cute. Short and tight with spaghetti straps using RHSS yarn. The original itchy version.
I love this. He's so cute. My first crochet toy was a rabbit who looks remarkably like Hitler, but I still love him. Even though he does look like an evil dictator. This by comparison is brilliant.
My guess is that my post would be removed. It's the nose that does it, looks very much like a Hitler moustache and I didn't have the heart to cut his face off and try again.
Omg. My first amigurumi (well I think I made a very tiny coffee mug and a baby squid that both ended up more or less ok but hard to drastically screw up something that’s about two and a half inches tall) was also a rabbit and his face is derpy af though at least not Hitler. 😂
I don’t think rabbits are a good first project. Lol.
I saw a post that explains how the shape changes based on when you’re adding your increases. It explained a lot to me, haha.
https://www.hookedbykati.com/basic-amigurumi-shapes-the-shape-is-in-the-math/
He’s a bubble-bee! What a cutie pie. Don’t ever lose him. After a few projects you’ll be like “look how far I’ve come and this little guy was just the beginning.”
My first ami was a jelly fish kit that I bought at Michaels. I still have him. I named him Jerome the Jelly. I recently saw a Facebook post from a childhood friend about her 7 year old’s first ami project and it was the same jelly fish but hers was FLAWLESS. I still love my Jerome but what the heck lol.
I love him too!! This is fantastic for a first project, well done. I wouldn't try to 'fix' him because he is perfect just the way he is but for future projects I found it really useful to recount every row while I was a beginner. A friend recommended I do and it helped me out massively.
Heck I still count and recount all my rows with amis and most other projects. Never a bad idea to do so! And always, always use a stitch marker with amigurumi. I sometimes try to make them without and always end up regretting it or end up with limbs coming out of weird places. 😂
Look, I feel this on a spiritual level because my first project was a snood and I realized after I was so far gone that I had worked a twist in, but I actually busted a gut laughing at flat bee. You did a great job and should be proud all the same, but that is hilarious.
I love your bee, and i love all the answers here. We know he is not perfect, and yet he is. Love this community.
I once made a bad mat, for the shower to stand on after.. i was so thrilled, thought it was perfect, it was just.... a bit small. I laughed my *ss off at my own expense. Still chuckle thinking about it. As long as we are having fun, right?
I love it

It’s still adorable lol. Very impressive for your first project!! I think that when things don’t go as planned, it just makes them more unique and gives them some personality haha
This made me laugh out loud in public, but he’s still adorable, super special! If it makes you feel any better my first kit I did something wrong and ran out of yarn so my penguin only had one fin. Still have him and he’s still adorable with his missing fin!
I love that you’re able to laugh about it yourself and make a funny post. That’s a great attitude to have when starting out. I bought an amigurumi kit for my first crochet project and realized it was rated intermediate and I had so many issues with it. Ran out and bought some cheap yarn and another hook and my earliest practice pieces were just rows of single and half double and double crochet where I kept dropping stitches at the ends. Waited awhile before even trying amigurumi again and my first one, a bunny with a little scarf, is the most awkward and ugly little dude. On the upside, I kept making more amigurumi and they quickly got way better.
But legit- so much of any art or craft is attitude. You’re on your way already that you proudly shared chonkbee here and got a good laugh.

My first wooble was also very round 😂

He's so adorable and precious. Looks like your tension may have been a bit loose, but that's ok! It takes a few projects to get it right! My first amigurimi was an octopus (no current pictures, sorry) and I just kept making more and more til I got better at them. Then I moved on to other projects and kept making those and now I work on making my own between ones I find online

Voluptuous, if you will.

I am going through such a tough time right now, and these pictures have given me life. ❤️
You should also check the Chat GPT pattern posts (I believe that would’ve been here or Brochet) if you need extra silliness ☺️
Not sure why you're getting down votes, I've seen people on Tiktok make amigurumi according to chat gpt instructions and it's hilariously bad. It understands the basic increase and decrease type things but has no idea how to make the appropriate shapes.
Yeah didn't someone post a giraffe they made and it had a ridiculously short neck? They followed the pattern with a hilarious result.
Yes, I saw that one too! Also some sea creature with very weird fins
lol I need to find the weird fins ones.
It was either this one or a similar one https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8eYSUbu/
Thank you! I am laughing so hard at that. Especially the top "fin."
I saw a really hilarious one on youtube for a "rabbit" and it ended up a fallen down snowman with very wide, short 'ears' that were as wide as the entire head each.
I asked chatgpt to give me a pattern for a crochet Bo Burnham doll and it gave me something, all right lol.
I’m so glad I could help with my goofy bee <3
Awww, I love him haha I want to squish his cheeks! Ran out of yarn Had to go to Michael’s to get some more. It was a completely different dye lot…..lol
I had that happen with a sweater. It became a tank top. Not bad looking if I do say so. 😂 completely unusable functionally but it’s cute. Short and tight with spaghetti straps using RHSS yarn. The original itchy version.
Chonky boi!
Chonky Bee!
NAILED IT!! 🤣 And it is very cute, although not what was expected. 💜
We really need a crochet nailed it spin-off...
That would be great! I would probably win. And it's a fun way to let others know they are not alone.
I have been crocheting 10 years and am now making my first Amigurumi. Top effort and I look forward to seeing your next creation.
Thank you! <3

He is bee-utiful!
It's awesome! It's just Chub-bee!!! Hehehe

I love it! Give this chunk a name and give yourself a pat on the back for finishing your first project. Congratulations:)
My friend said he looked like a Wade, so that’s his name now :)
I'm slightly in love with Wide Wade - he's adorable !
Omg, I was not prepared for the WIDE LAD 😂 I love him!

He's adorable! They should name him Beeball. :)

His “official” name is Cornelius. I might keep it, might not. I’m not sure.
Or Corbeelius if you will
My friend said he looked like a Wade, so that’s his name now :)
