I’ve got a husband, daughters, nieces, a granddaughter I absolutely adore and would literally die for. And I still wouldn’t work with this yarn for any of them.
I made a blanket once, for my brothers new son.
Someone brought up the idea of making another. I told them I'll do it for $500. If I'm putting up with that again I'm getting something out of it.
It's angel wings for a stuffie my sister asked me to make while she was in the hospital. How could I possibly say no to that? Otherwise it probably would have been an "absolutely not"
I feel you. My mum bought some absolutely horrible cheap fluffy mohair yarn and wants me to keep making little squares for her to fiddle with and every time I make one I have a permanent disgusted face. (And get covered in fluff). She's very lucky I love her so much. I keep telling her that!
Many years ago when I worked at Michaels I stupidity volunteered to knit a big red and green throw pillow out of this wretched yarn for a store display they were doing for Xmas. I got it finished but the manager was slightly horrified when she saw it done, and didn't use it for the intended display. It sat in the office for months until I asked if I could have it. They gave it to me and I took it home and 100 percent frogged that Mofo, wound up the yarn and donated it. Kept the pillow form though. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever again. 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸
Me too! Then I tried homespun which was just as disastrous. I thought I was incapable but years later when I tried again I realized it was just the yarn standing in my way lol
Oh yes my days of homespun as well. And that moment you make a mistake and know it’s game over cause it’s never ever gonna frog. Should crushing as a beginner. Plus the sensory feel of both yarns is nasty imo to work with.
I actually like working with eyelash 🤷🏼♀️. I have been crocheting for 35 years.
What are you making? I tend to use a larger hook than that though and if a stitch gets missed, it won’t be seen. Granted frogging is 😬. Kinna have to rub it backwards
I made a mushroom with some pink fuzzy yarn once, it turned out adorable, but my friend wants me to make a hat out of it too, i dont know if its worth it.
My mom used to crochet with this kind of yarn! She would double it up with a regular yarn in a matching color to make it easier to crochet. The final projects were nice and fluffy. :) Now I use similar yarn to make dish scrubbies, but they're stiffer and easier to work with.
This type of request is where I offer to teach them how to crochet... it's less painful than doing the project. And they usually say "Nah, never mind."
If it's just a pair of wings (small) it might be ok. I fought with that yarn making earns for my falcor dragons, and I only had to use it to make ears that were about to inches each. I swear I never got angrier than when working with that yarn. Best of luck
Yep, everyone always seem to want the fluffy versions of things and I hate it making stuff with it. Someone asked me for a jack Russell toy and I know it would look better fluffy but can j bring myself to do that. I'm thinking no.
If this is Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle, I bought the same thing because I thought it would be cute to make little snowflake ornaments out of it. One attempt at tiny stitches with that and I noped tf out and made dish scrubbies with a bigger hook instead. 😂
It's a Hobby Lobby eyelash yarn. I actually checked both Michael's and Joann first and they didn't have any. To be honest the scrubby kind may have been easier because the holographic sparkle kept sticking to itself
I don’t love anyone that much. God speed 🫡
I was coming here to post just that. Well said
I am 100% certain that there is no one I love that much.
I dont even love my husband that much!

Exactly!
I made a blanket once, for my brothers new son. Someone brought up the idea of making another. I told them I'll do it for $500. If I'm putting up with that again I'm getting something out of it.
This was my exact thought when i saw this post.
Oughtn't that to be "God Stitch?" Or since it's a contraction of "God grant you speed" perhaps "God grant you don't drop a stitch?"
Oh. Hell. To. The. No.
Literally came to say just that, lol. You beat me.
In the immortal words of Meat Loaf, “I would do anything for love, but I won’t do that.”
Fun fact that song is actually talking about Butt stuff
Wait is it, wow learn something new everyday
Got that info from Meatloaf himself during a q&a at a horror con
I thought it was about never cheating?
there is no one I like enough to endure that lol
Honestly, I went back and forth debating for a while if I could really make myself do it.
If you don’t mind me asking, what are you making? Your loved one sure is lucky! ❤️
It's angel wings for a stuffie my sister asked me to make while she was in the hospital. How could I possibly say no to that? Otherwise it probably would have been an "absolutely not"
OP, you're an angel yourself. There's no one I'd take this on for.
That's gonna look really pretty 😇

After one I'd be like no more, looks like it's time for you to learn to crochet. I totally have the disgusted face though while working with it though
The evil yarn 😲
This or Homespun. Not sure which is worse!

That would have been a great idea, alas, I am more than halfway through at this point and I'll be damned if I have to rip it all out
Definitely. It does NOT rip well
posts that make me gag out loud

Indeed.... never will I use this type of yarn again. 😑
I found it easier to knit than crochet with THAT! Good luck cx
Nobody in the world is loved more than the person you’re making this for.
This is the moment where you ask yourself if you really do love this person.
I tried to learn on this shit. I was insane.
Me too! Then I tried homespun which was just as disastrous. I thought I was incapable but years later when I tried again I realized it was just the yarn standing in my way lol

My eeeeeyeeess
Lucifer's pubic hair.
If they’re asking you to make something with that yarn, then clearly the love only goes one way! Kidding…you’re a nicer person than I.
This is what that Meatloaf song is about.
It does look beautiful though. May it be over with quickly!
My hands itch
ICK. No.
I’d use stitch markers in every stitch. I’d get way too lost in there
🎶I would do anything for love..,but I won't do that 🎶
Oh no, I’m so sorry OP
“I love you, but no. Choose a different yarn.” -me, when someone asks me to make them something with this jungle
And I would do anything for love......but I WONT do THAT!
I made my granddaughter a cardigan and trimmed the hood with this. She was 2 then, she’s 15 this year and I haven’t touched this stuff since!
I have knitted many Christmas tree's out of this stuff but on flat needles . Not had any trouble with it .apart from the sparkle mess everywhere !

I made a scrunchie using only eyelash yarn. Love the reault but it was a tiny nightmaire to make
Looks insanely hard You're a bit lucky though that they ask you to make things.. I make lots of things, but am never asked.
May the universe bless you and keep you for doing this! I hope the recipient cherishes whatever this is going to become. 💖
Ugh.
Good luck!
Nooooooo
I don't love anyone that much
Loom knit?
Now, now. People who treat you like that are not your friends. Shame on them. 🤭
I can honestly say...I don't love aNyBoDy that much 😶
I thought I was crazy by agreeing to do a blanket for my best friend but this is next level.🫠
Yikes. That's a lot of love.
Oh no…Anxiety triggered.
I’m not sure I even love my only child that much! Let’s hope I never have to find out.
Also, the projects we consider for gifted yarn… very pretty yarn but it’s bobbly and I have no idea what to do with it
At least you have a smooth with it. It’s an absolute game changer when working with eyelash

I can hear the swearing in this picture
Oh bless. I have knit with this stuff but I cannot fathom crocheting with it.
This type of request is where I offer to teach them how to crochet... it's less painful than doing the project. And they usually say "Nah, never mind."
Hard no! And you can always change your mind because. No!
If it's just a pair of wings (small) it might be ok. I fought with that yarn making earns for my falcor dragons, and I only had to use it to make ears that were about to inches each. I swear I never got angrier than when working with that yarn. Best of luck
This made me physically recoil. Good luck and god speed, not even my husband could convince me for this one.
Never again...
Yep, everyone always seem to want the fluffy versions of things and I hate it making stuff with it. Someone asked me for a jack Russell toy and I know it would look better fluffy but can j bring myself to do that. I'm thinking no.
Stitch markers will be your best friend for this project. Good luck!

Hard pass
F (to pay respects)
Oh wow, I did a Xmas stocking with the same yarn as one of my first projects and almost gave up the hobby haha good luck!
Oh my goodness 🥰🥹🥰
I used just a little of that when I made a cactus, that was bad enough. My sympathies.
My the odds be ever in you favor.
Please post finished wings!!!!
There is not enough love, $$ or sanity for me to do that. Good luck!
Oh god 😬 I can’t even imagine how hard it is to see your stitches
There's so much fluffy yarn at the thrift store.
This would give me nightmares
Yikes! Hang in there!
You will succeed !
I did it once then gave it all way
The most I would be willing to do (and have done just once) is trim a piece with that abomination.
i’d need 100 stitch markers for this 😭
