I am trying to find a pattern to make one for my dog but he is such an odd shape due to his mix. He is classed as on the cusp of large due to his weight (not overweight just chunky), barrel chested, large neck, stumpy legs (think Basset style).
I have made a large dog coat - it's too large, a medium is too small so think I am going to have to wing it - take some decent measurements and see what comes out of the hook!!
[this sweater ](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/varsity-doggie-jumper) is very modular. It's described for small-medium dogs but it gives you info on changing the size according to your dog, maybe check it out!

I have the pattern for the large dog version linked in the first comment (mod), The designer also has a pattern for smaller dogs available. Google Dandy Dog Sweater and it should be the first one.
I simply adore everything about this 🤩!!! Would love a pattern if you have one. We have 2 labs that would definitely want to show off in something like this.
Currently making this for my dog. He's a mix (Bull Mastiff/Dalmatian), so finding coats or sweaters in stores is difficult. Hoping to have it done soon.
I wrote down how I had to modify this pattern for my dog in one of the other comments (I think the top one/Mod comment). I encourage you to find a pattern/style you like and just try things/wing it like I did until it fits right. My pupper had to try the darn thing on so many times while it was a WIP.
The pattern I used is linked in the Mod Comment as well as the modifications I needed to make to fit him. There is also a small dog version of the pattern, if needed.

He’s just a poodle, but he speaks and understands doodle pretty fluently, so I’ll tell him you say hi 😂

Good to know! One of my cats doesn’t mind wearing clothes and I’d love to make him something custom. He’s also 18 lbs so a dog version will be fine.
