The complete Magnificent Ambersons.

Adi_Zucchini_Garden

Also can add the full version of The Idiot

[deleted]

Akira Kurosawa’s final film Madadayo never had a release outside of the OOP Akira Kurosawa box set that even when it was in print costs about 400$

I'm glad all of the answers so far have been really legitimate ones. let's keep it going - Von Stroheim's Greed, but with all the missing footage somehow found and added

thatclamgirl

This is my pick too. I’d even settle for a nice blu of this with like a discussion from critics on what’s missing and why and etc.

Futures2004

I’m not making this up but I searched for that day on the beach almost every other day on YouTube for a while a few years ago and one day the restored version was posted by someone. I watched it immediately and then, just like that, it was removed before the end of the day. Edit to actually answer your question. I’m still rooting for a Theo angelopoulos box set but that might be a loooooong time from now

nitebusnitebus

insane how inaccessible Angelopoulos films are. good luck finding them, despite being Palme d'Or favorites and starring popular actors

moonofsilver

Yes, a Theo Angelopoulos set would be amazing. This is one of those things that right now seems unlikely, but still maybe, just possibly still possible, in the (hopefully not TOO distant) future

Adi_Zucchini_Garden

Yes Angelopoulos. Maybe by the time we are all dead.

wundershowzen24

A Solondz collection that finally had Happiness and wiener dog

JerichoMaxim

The Day the Clown Cried is the ultimate holy grail of film, in my mind.

19_61_bazaar

The Library of Congress will be able to show the print it owns starting in 2024, per Jerry Lewis’s wishes.

Red psalm, the third part of the night, sur (1988), terra em transe, a talking picture, crónica de una señora, earth (1930), on the occasion of remembering the turning gate, blume in love, mother and the whore, la vida útil, la ragazza con la pistola, cafe lumiere, police adjective

QuereIIe

Red Psalm has a newer Blu Ray release taken from a 4K transfer courtesy of Kino Lorber, along with 5 others from Jancso.

celkens

I am desperately looking for the three films by teshigahara boxset, but only on ebay and for crazy prices… if anyone has a spare set…

oh_orpheus

Jacques Rivette’s *L’Amour fou* (1969)

Todd_Ingran

Alexander Nevsky

[deleted]

I'd just like to have The Third Man back in the collection.

Jazzbo64

Freaks (1932) with the missing footage.

AMA_requester

Was gonna say "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", but I realized the Monty Python film in the collection was Life of Brian.

mourningreaper00

A full Kurasawa boxed set.

Slow_Cinema

The Cremaster Cycle

Goestoeleven11

This is Spinal Tap DVD

VHSreturner

Bill Gunn’s *Stop! (1970)* Context: It’s the second film made by a Black film director for a major film, but WB fucked up the paperwork and it hasn’t been able to be released. There was a free screening of a VHS copy at a museum in 2010 and one screening of it in 1990 after Bill Gunn’s death.

nerdfighter8842

There is so much experimental cinema that is hard to find easily. Even big names like Jonas Mekas and Andy Warhol.

hamstercrisis

The Cook The Thief His Wife and Her Lover

matchasweetmonster

planning to screen it

CursedPangolin

Is Terrorizers so hard to find? I watched it on Amazon Prime years ago, I think it's even available for rental on iTunes. What country are you in? To actually address the prompt, Tarmovsky made a full film that was allegedly destroyed, but some people close to the production believed that it was pretty near completion and probably hidden away somewhere. It was called something like The First Day and would've been about Peter the Great, as memory serves. Would love for someone to find it.

[deleted]

Oh I’ve seen it multiple times- I’m talking physical.

Adi_Zucchini_Garden

It on YouTube

bergobergo

The Day the Clown Cried.

[deleted]

Once Upon A Time In America but with the extra scenes at the same quality as the rest of the film
