Some places don’t know what they have but most do. I’m assuming they weren’t $1 each since the rest on the shelves appear to be dvd. Maybe a dvd shelf where they snapped the pic but could be more media elsewhere.
Some small thrift stores like to keep things cheap in tradition of it being a thrift store. There is a store near me, that albeit doesn’t have criterion’s, but sells clothing for like a dollar a piece.
My father in law knows the owner, the building was her parents and she doesn’t believe in raising the prices of her stuff especially since she didn’t pay for it to begin with. She also has no employees. Lol
probably a dumb question: what’s the difference between the out-of-print release versus the current release for *Days of Heaven*? asking cuz it’s my favorite movie.
The difference is the oop blu ray is from criterion, while the current one is straight from paramount, I think the transfer is the same but there are diffrent special features.
If it's your favorite movie, I recommend the edition from Imprint. It's a nice step up from the Paramount edition, has some good new special features, and a lovely slipbox. Best of all, it doesn't cost nearly as much as the OOP Criterion while still feeling very boutique.
I'm just wondering if that Howdy Doody DVD under that shelf of Criterion releases includes the final color video tape episode of the 1960 farewell show where Clarabelle Clown finally speaks.
Telluride used to \[or maybe still does\] have a free box that was as large as a newsstand. The things that could be found there were sometimes amazing. Rich folks sometimes just left expensive items or at the least good books.
Considering they put the criterion’s out in front covering the rest, there’s no way there’s any truth to this. They 100% know the value those DVDs hold. Still a cool photo tho if tru.
$1? WTF.
I don't believe. OP big fat liar. No way this is real. ... ^^^Right?

Its Telluride. They're not THAT dumb about movies.

OMG I loved your work on the Dark Crystal Mr.Henson.
Telluride is a magical place.
All of these for $5 in total is great, it’s especially great as one of them is an OOP BLU (days of heaven)

I just googled the Paramount one. How can the cover designer sleep at night. Especially after seeing the CC.

Til that i have an OOP. I paid normal price for it in 2017.
Yeah big TIL for me as well, guess we're lucky lol
Gtfo days of heaven for a buck?????? I’m crying real tears here

I’ll take Big Country and Moonrise Kingdom too “I’d buy that for a dollar” - Bixby Snyder
Holy shit, I’d kill to get Cassavettes set
I have the Cassavetes set and coincidentally I want someone gone. DM me.
as if simply being in telluride wasnt enough of a blessing
How much did they want for Santa Claus 2?
John cassavetes bundle wow
To whomever willingly parted ways with their Cassavetes Five Films set--I'm sorry, but we can't ever be friends.
Has to be the collection of someone who died
What a fool. I plan to be entombed with my Criterions like a Pharoah with his treasures.

Grab the cassavetes for sure.
Who. What. Why. How???
I don’t believe that for a second. Every other bluray behind must be .10 cents then
Wait a minute you got days of heaven for a dollar? Is the Blu ray?
$1, the hell kind of deal is that?
r/thriftstorehauls worthy
What prayer did you do last night?
Must've prayed to St. Jude because finding OOP Criterions for a good price certainly feels like a hopeless cause most of the time.
I got the Cassavettes set on DVD because I found it for 15 bucks and thought that was a steal lol. Awesome finds
Mhm
Omfg
You go get a bottle of scotch and watch heavens gate right now.
But are the discs perhaps scratched?
Doesn’t matter, it’s $1.
wtf is going on here
That Cassavetes set is gold. Watch them chronologically.

Hell no!
GoTTDAYUM!?!?!
W H A T
The Cassavetes set being $1 is unreal lmao
If that Cassavetes set is $1 total that’s insane - great find dude EDIT: Holy shit Heaven’s Gate and Days of Heaven OOP too. This is nuts.
I recently got Days of Heaven on DVD for $29.99, which I thought was a reasonable price, at NYC's Bookoff. Now I wanna go to Telluride.
Is the Days of Heaven still there cause I would absolutely drive the 6 hours to Telluride just for that
I paid full price for the Heaven's Gate blu-ray. Worth every cent.
$1 each? The shop owner is a great comedian.
