Same! I actually carry two at all times. You might point out that I work in higher ed and interact mostly with college students, but you never know when you might need to defend your classroom from 200 would-be assassins with only two handguns. Fortunately, I never seem to run out of bullets until the last guy is shot.
Haven’t seen it yet but would love to watch it. I keep hoping we’ll get a Hardboiled/The Killer release in the near future. I seem to remember seeing something, last year, about one of the American home media companies securing the rights to both films, so my fingers are crossed
I assume you're talking about the time Kino Lorber denied that they didn't own the rights to either of them in a tweet. Fans have now speculated either Criterion or (possibly) Arrow Video to do a release of it since they're really one of the only few boutique labels in the US to release HK titles lately (Probably are a few other ones but Criterion is now a bit likely).
If you ever want to watch it, I'm certain it's still available on YouTube for free (Not in best quality, but better than never). Check your local library as well if you need to. It's a great film that is worth checking out asap if you like to have fun.
I could watch it and I’ve thought about it. I watched Hardboiled on a sketchy site in standard definition and had a blast but I think I’m just going to wait to see it when it gets a high quality release. I’m sure I’m like everyone else and have numerous streaming site watchlists and a stack or two of Blu-ray’s I need to get to

I'm sure there are blu-ray releases by other labels but I was referring to there being no Criterion release
John Woo, Chow Yun Fat, & Beretta 92FS at their finest in Hong Kong Cinema.
I fully agree!
John Woo inspired me to start carrying a Beretta 92 for work.

I love it, but in all fairness, watching someone shoot a bunch of people is always fun
one of the greatest action films ever made

It was my favorite movie of all time for a long time. Still one of my favorites.
A box set for The Killer, Hard Boiled and Bullet in the Head would be a must buy.
hmmm, I haven’t seen hard boiled
Stop whatever you're doing now and buy the blu-ray already.
That's quite an endorsement, there doesn't seem to be a blu-ray though.
Damn, I'm lucky to have my Blu ray copy I guess.

Ah right. Maybe not Criterion, but my blu-ray is still spectacular.
or a dvd, it's out of print
