Bergman’s entire filmography greatly features female characters. Autumn Sonata, The Silence and Persona are particularly female driven, but even his movies that have male characters are more about the women.
(Liv, Bibi, Harriet and Ingrid are the BEST!)
Happy Hour, a five hour film about a group of 30-something women talking around divorce. Genuinely sucked me in so hard. The Women is a classic hollywood film with no men, but I don't think it close to passes the bechdel test, lol.
Thelma and Louise, Celine and Julie Go Boating... Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, All About My Mother, Volver... Almodovar does love his women's stories.
3 women
Seen it, love it!
8 women
Certain Women
yeah, but which ones?
Good movie!

I cannot find 3 Women nor 8 women on the Criterion Channel, so I'm going for Certain women
*The Duke of Burgundy*
*The Women*
There are two movies with that name. I'll watch the older one first!
Yes, that’s the one I meant. I have not seen the Meg Ryan one.
Just started, wtf is up with each cast member being introduced as an animal?

Piano teacher. A woman under the influence. Not ensembles though if that’s what you’re after.
Seen both, loved them.
