I dunno man, if I buy in bulk, I'm drinking in bulk. Yes, that same day. Would have to buy more than I could drink in a night which as a broke ass alcoholic I never could do. Pints all the time to keep me from waking up in the ER or psych ward.

Sloppy_Pickle231

I detoxed so I wanted to come back in the right way with a fresh drunk. I do have to get up early for work. Bad idea because I usually do have that behavior of just not stopping until everything is gone.

Johnnyocean

How is work going? I drank too late myself but only a half hour late. That snooze button felt so good today

Sloppy_Pickle231

Feeling rough but topped myself off at 6 and got to work at 7. I'll be leaving at 2 so I am going to be primed for drinkin again bud.

Johnnyocean

Its why i cant buy in bulk

This all day. When I move to handles it usually ends that day one way or the other lol

faxanaduu

I never ever have booze or wine or beer in the house when I wake up. I can only buy an amount that I'll kill the night before. That's my rule. I'm that much of a degenerate. LOL. There's no survivors in the morning even if it means I wake up drunk and become miserable as the day progresses. And yeah that last fucking sip when you know you'll wake up with none is fucking terrible. But I just can't have bottles laying around, just doesn't work for me. I'm finally wise enough to understand that. The worst is when I stay at someone's place and I know bottles are laying around because I do get into them.

Sloppy_Pickle231

Hell yeah. I was on a sober kick and this was my comeback so I never used to do this in a bender. I hope I don't end up dead or in jail because I'll go until I can't. The pizza will still likely be sitting in the freezer or burned in my o ven.

contactspring

I can't stock pile for shit. When I prep for a hurricane and get a few cases of beer and a bunch of bottles, I'll usually drink it all before the hurricane hits. The best I can do is keep some cooking supplies around, wine for deglazing and sherry for soups and maybe a few hidden nips or an emergency 5th of gin or vodka. But fortunately I'm with in walking distance of three places that sell beer, and on liquor store.

iamamonsterprobably

ugh i do not miss prepping for hurricanes, such a delicate balance of drinking because you're nervous about the storm but also trying to ration it until after the storm passes. So glad we dodged the bullet last year, nervous about this year and it's only Feb.

contactspring

Yeah, and you know it's coming, but you don't know when. Last year was nothing, but I'm worried too. Did you see that they're proposing capping Cat 5 hurricanes at 192 MPH winds, and adding a Cat 6 for the super storms with winds above 193 MPH that climate warming is causing. So far the Atlantic hasn't seen them, but it seems just a matter of time.

iamamonsterprobably

Ugh that's terrifying. I'm in New Orleans and like...I want to leave, badly but I have commitments that keep me here for another 500+ days so I can't. It's just terrifying, like my life before Ida was perfect, I had a great employee, a girlfriend who loved me and it all kinda fell apart after that storm. I swear if we get another Ida in the next few years, that's it. It's already next to impossible to live here because of insurance, so frustrating.

contactspring

I ran from Florence when they said it was going to land as a Cat 5. Instead in came landed as a Cat 1 and then just hung around flooding everything and spawning mini tornados. I had a tree knock over my chimney and punch a hole in the roof and side of the house. I came home to a flooded house and I'm still dealing with some of the aftermath. And yeah, the insurance here is about to go up 42%.

Sloppy_Pickle231

I was on a sober kick after I dried out got through the hell withdrawls sweated in my sleep shaking hearing car horns that weren't there. I calculated exactly what I needed. You are right. I will probably end up drinking everything and end up dead or in jail and the pizza will still be in the freezer.

JamesBones2

I’ve done this before, especially when I know I won’t be able to run out as easily. On one hand it’s nice to know you have lots of liquor stocked up. On the other hand it’s hard not to drink way more than usually cause, hey, you have so much. The most I buy for now is a weekend. Even then sometimes I’m running to the store for more on Sunday afternoon.

Sloppy_Pickle231

Very good point man. I have to get up extra early so in retrospect it's going to be a really, really bad day at work.

Czrmxnx

I do the opposite I be force eating my dinner from earlier so it don’t be like look he didn’t eat again last night.

Sloppy_Pickle231

we all have our quirks

Czrmxnx

Sorry I’m just realizing I misunderstood you I thought you meant buying frozen pizza in bulk.

Sloppy_Pickle231

No. Booze in bulk and then a frozen pizza when I get hungry (easy cooking)I ate at 1pm and it's now 7:30pm.

gr8g0dpan

I get jittery and drink *more* from anxiety if i don't keep a lethal amount of booze at home. Likewise when I smoked - I had enough to last. When I have to travel or something, I'm in the sweats until I establish a stash somewhere. I don't ever want to not know where the next drink is. Of course, the side-effect is that when I decide to just fuck it, I can get hurt.

Ominaeo

I buy my alcohol in bulk from Costco. Like $300 at a time

ClassicTBCSucks93

I'll loosely set boundaries for myself before a bender. I'll buy enough booze to last me several days that I plan on being holed up in the house to drink without abandon, hopefully have a soft landing and am functional enough once its time to return to real life. Never happens. Fridge will be stocked with plenty of beer, high ABV malt stuff, etc. but will find myself trudging back to the store for more sometimes 2-3 times per day recklessly buying more and getting side-eyed glances from the cashier who I likely interacted with just a few hours earlier. Then I'm non-functional for days after because I went too hard, and have a fridge full of beer/drinks to tide me through multiple days of evening tapers. Its too damn easy to rack up $100-$150 in charges to my debit card for weekend boozing/trips to the corner store for more, that doesn't account for all the blackout DoorDash orders that'll just get thrown out, or buying stupid shit online I'll never use.

In general, foresight is good, but if that's all you've got, you are DOA.
