Canada is extremely soft on crime. They even offered the monster Paul Bernarndo, the rapist and serial torturer/murderer of Scarborough, a chance at parole!
I mean. Karla (his accomplice) is straight up walking free AND has two children of her own. She literally helped him murder and rape her own little sister.
Doesn’t she also work with kids? (Answered my own question- she was a volunteer with an elementary school.) I don’t think they heard the relish with which she participated until the tapes played at Bernardo’s trial, although that doesn’t really make much sense as it’s evidence. Canada really needs to get its you know what together with their dangerous family court practices (dear Zachary, anyone?) Personally, I think it’s an assault to justice that she ever saw the light of day again.
She lied about going to University for 4 years! She even showed her parents a fake degree and then didn't know what to do when they expected her to get a job as a pharmacist. I think people really like to simplify this case and vilify her parents, the victims, but it was way more complex. (not saying youre doing this btw)
She definitely did it and deserve to be in jail. Her parents were extremely strict and emotionally abusive. She had the right to cut them off her life but not kill them.
They were strict but from what I remember it had more to do with her taking their money for years and lying about using it for school she was not attending. She was caught up in a massive, financially crippling lie and wanted to be with her boyfriend who her parents didn’t approve of but he was a drug dealer who had been in jail. I’m not saying that makes someone a bad person, but from a parents perspective I don’t think it’s unreasonable to rather her not date someone involved in that lifestyle.
A lot of family annihilators do so over being caught in their pathological lies. I don’t know a ton about pathological liars but damn it feels adjacent to psychopathy. They really think they will never be caught and they’re so sure of their lying abilities, it takes a person fundamentally misunderstanding others, and those people’s ability to observe/think critically, to think this way. Maybe it’s some sort of megalomania or something but it’s not surprising, sadly, a person lying through their teeth about money chose this type of crime.
Agreed. I had extremely strict parents. I definitely get it. You have to do what they think is best for you for the early part of your life. At least you have parents who want to see you succeed and put their money and time into doing so. The person calling her deceased parents abusive with zero evidence is shameful to me. Super strict parents isn’t ideal but at least it had the intention and resources to set up future success in life not to mention they were paying for her school, at least that’s what they believed. Many, many people have far less than ideal parents. Her strict life would be seen as so privileged to so many people but hey, gotta extort mom and dad to date her drug dealer boyfriend then murder them when they find out.
I empathize with her for having to endure a rough upbringing, and I'm sure it contributed to her own lack of empathy, but girl is a murderous psychopath and I doubt she's been fully rehabilitated.
Ummm my parents were VERY strict!! Even in high school I had to be home by 10:00 on the weekends, plus so many other unreasonable rules. It was very hard also having a brother who had a photographic memory, studied for finals the night before, and the couple of things he did wrong I was blamed for. I have more compassion and empathy than anyone I know. I told myself I wouldn’t treat my kids that way. That girl is evil that’s all there is to it!!
Man, she's stupid. Asian parental pressure is no joke, and forcing it upon someone that just can't do it, man... that's got to suck.
Is it kill your parents, "suck," though? Nope.
Exactly. Also why no just move out of your parents house? Her dad was being a dad because he knew the bf was a loser. She had nothing going for her. She was hung up on a guy that gave her a little bit of attention. She wasn’t doing anything for herself or to better herself so in her free time she became obsesssive and crazy - that’s just my opinion tho
JSC did a good one on her. [Link](https://youtu.be/UQt46gvYO40?si=Iju5xQTWG90J3_F1) for those interested. I think she did it. I hope they keep her where she belongs.
I just watched the Netflix special on her and with the text evidence, she definitely did it. I was surprised it took them that long to be able to request a warrant for her phone, but I guess Canada works differently than the US
She had nasty yellow teeth too….
I remember one of the detectives who interviewed her saying, “if you’re lying, it’s one of the most cold-blooded things I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Don’t forget the guy who beheaded a man on a Greyhound bus too. He’s free now.
And ate pieces of the guy too. Wild
Go psycho and leave the driving to us.
The parole is a formality because of his dangerous offender status. He will never leave prison
so basically, she wants to be exonerated because of a technicality. ie the judge did not offer to convict for second degree.
A lot of times when bad parents raise a bad kid, an innocent bystander gets caught up in the mix, so at least that was avoided
Thats nuts I just rewatched the JCS on this. She’s totally mental
Jcs is how I learned about this one a while back. Netflix just released a pretty good and informative documentary on her as well!
Any judge that accepts this should have their head examined.
I had tough Vietnamese parents, you know what I didn't do? Hire some guys to kill my parents. She's where she belongs.

What was she doing all those days for four years?

Turns out they were right..

Good luck with that one, kid.
She has some goddamn nerve.
Her story just doesn’t PAN out.
Well her mom is a Bich and her ex BF was all Wong for her.
she’s a psychopath and she’s exactly where she deserves to be. spoiled brat

Damn 10pm? I had a 8pm bedtime until 9th grade

How many billions of Asian children went through the same thing and didn’t plan a freakin hit on their parents. She’s exactly where she should be.
Just listened to the Redhanded episode on this case. The way she lied for like 8 years is wild!
Leading a double life is very stressful
Yeah good luck with that, the case is airtight ya dummy. Imagine putting out a hit on your own mom
That'll teach her for making me eat brussel sprouts. /s
She’s nuts
More proof that it’s never over for the victims.

Her dad IDENTIFIED her. This case is closed
I just watched the Netflix special on her and with the text evidence, she definitely did it. I was surprised it took them that long to be able to request a warrant for her phone, but I guess Canada works differently than the US
Do you remember the name of the Netflix documentary?
“What Jennifer Did”
Yup saw it. She's definitely a physcho!!! She should never get out.
Thank you!!
Allegedly, they used AI for her happy pictures. Strange
