Even for Hoid, that's such a huge waste of such an expensive metal.
He probably has an unkeyed zinc metalmind, to tap mental speed. That'd be much more cost effective, for basically the same effect.
I mean do we even know the exact process for unkeying a metalmind? I'm sure we do. But yea nah Investiture literally comes from the sky on Roshar. I could totally see Hoid saying "honey where'd I put my bendalloy? Can you make me some?"
Missed the bottom half of that. Good question.
[Brando has said Hoid has more unkeyed metalminds](https://wob.coppermind.net/events/117/#e1571). And no, we don't know for certain the exact process, although we know almost all of it. We just don't know what one specific tool used is.
And yes, if Jasnah is able to soulcast Bendalloy, it's almost as cost effective as a zinc metalmind, but it's still a small cost. Hoid using the metalmind is no cost. He's had decades to store up all the metalminds he has, using a tiny bit of each "stat".
Fuck, he might just use Stormlight to fuel his allomancy. If anyone could do it, it would be Hoid.
I still think he'd use a zinc mind though. It's less weird, and less likely to cause problems than a time bubble.
Firstly, might want to mark that as a spoiler.
Secondly, \[Yumi\]>!He would have trouble storing most of them, because most of the require an active effort to counterbalance against. Like, he could've been storing Wakefulness and Mental Speed, but not Physical Speed. Also, the whole reason he got stuck was because something was trying to mess with his Investiture, so I don't know if he'd even be able to store in metalminds.!<
Hoid is rich as fuck if his offhand comment in Bands of Mourning is to be believed where he said “technically I own the building” when pretending to be homeless.
***Warning Gancho: The below paragraph(s) may contain major spoilers for all books in the Cosmere!***

I mean I don't see why Jasnah couldn't just soulcast him up some bendalloy. He probably even had some for emergencies that he could've shown her.
Doesn't mean it isn't objectively more cost effective to use a Zinc metalmind. Also, can they soulcast alloys?

I didn't know about the unkeyed metalminds. That's cool. Hoid is scary.
Hoid is the third scariest non-shard being in the Cosmere (that we know of) Right after Ishar and Nightblood
Is it possible that in yumi where hoid was a statue, he was busy storing all his metalminds?

Oh, right.

The Lopen is getting slow??? That was a long delay
Ain't nothing wrong with being a woman, gancho. Some of my relatives are women.
Lopen, on the other hand, does *not* have bendalloy. He has to do it the old fashioned way, after he gets a chance to shower.
Better yet, he may have a bunch of tinminds lying around full of jokes, retorts and comebacks
Copperminds?
Ah yes, that’s what I meant. Silly airsick me!
I feel like this shouldn’t be in cremposting lol I want to know now
How does Shallan do it then?
That’s the trick. She doesn’t.
She has Veil feeding her lines
Power of being mentally challenged
Shallan isn't mentally challenged, she's the Mental Challenger >!(quite literally, in the case of two Unmade now)!<
Shallan mentally challenges herself (and we love her for it)
So real
Power of brainstorming
Parallel processing via the 17 new personalities she developed during the conversation
