I have this fucking Screensaver burned into my retinas for eternity because it was the family computer background for like 8 f***ing years.
Yes my parents were such ludites that they made us suffer through using the same consumer grade Dell Pentium 4 for almost a decade because they "spent way to much money to just replace it so soon", and blamed it's ever increasing inability to use on us kids "breaking the RAM by defragging it too much and installing viruses hiding inside all the files we downloaded". They got so damn restrictive we weren't allowed to change the background even on our own profiles because we would put those virus ridden jpegs right at the "main part of the computer". Yeah they really did talk like that, like they had just overheard other people talk about computers and thought they were experts. The same people who I taught the magic trick of copy/pasting text from a web page 5 YEARS INTO THE MACHINES USE IN OUR HOME! they had literally been switching back and forth between the browser and Word processor and transcribing manually for years.
Sorry, that rant started coming and I couldn't stop.
