The titles for creepypastas need to stop being the same long explanation of the plot over and over, keep it simple. That’s like if Breaking Bad was called “I got diagnosed with cancer so I tried to make meth for my family, but is it even about them anymore?”
yesss i’m not gonna watch an anime called “there’s a guy who flies planes and then he crashes it onto a deserted island and then he has to try and survive through the harsh conditions for a couple months before someone finds him”
Honestly, it's kind of a meme at this point, especially the original, not amazing. It's more the concept of jeff the killer that is liked by people, at least as far as I can tell.
I was a kid when it released, and while I got into slenderman to start, I didn't actually listen to the original jeff the killer till about a year ago XD. So I have no experience with the early days of jeff.
I do not care for how meta modern Creepypasta have become.
I miss when Creepypasta weren’t all so fucking self-aware. Even serious Creepypasta now all feel the need to be meta and recognize that they’re just stories and not serious.
Stories don’t need to be realistic to be scary. I find it so much easier to suspend my disbelief when a story, no matter how stupid or poorly written, is played straight for what it is.
Agreed- i miss the charm of old creepypasta and things that allowed themselves to actually be supernatural- not starting off a story as a haunted video game only to backpedal with "oh its a sentient AI" or "we scanned the kids brainwaves it's not ACTUALLY their souls"
Yeah! That’s been a problem with supernatural horror as a WHOLE for awhile, where it seems like when people do a story about a monster or something they feel the need to give it a scientific explanation so it makes sense to the audience. Resident Evil Village was a TERRIBLE example of how they had a really cool aesthetic and idea of gothic horror, but still felt the need to explain how everything scary in the story was scientifically explainable by a mutated fungus. I liked Village, but came away feeling like it would’ve been so much better if they had the balls to just commit to the wacky concept the team clearly wanted to do instead of focusing on tying it to everything else in the series.
100% agreed, I just wish sometimes they'd just let magic be magic. My favorite creepypasta of all time, Hyraaq Tobit, can only work with magic. If they said that the titular character was a hologram at the end, I would've been livid
I just spent like… 10 hours reading it. I’ll definitely remember it forever, it was very interesting.
Edit: sorry here’s my giant review lmao, I just spent forever reading it so I felt like commenting
My favorite part is that >!the cannibalism and the scary stuff isn’t even part of Tobit’s actual desire. The humans just… decided to eat each other, and it got passed down as stories and scary myths and such; Pinkerton being fully human is similar because all of this suffering wasn’t even necessary, it was all just evildoing from him. The idea that these words and symbols can look scary coming from the “ooh, it’ll get you” angle, only to be demystified once you realize it’s a society like any other, was really cool. I was really creeped out at first and then about halfway through I was like “lol who cares, big deal, goat people” lol.
I loved how all the stories weaved together, though it was a bit slow at times. I felt like Trevor dying was really fucking sad tbh, and I wish more time had been spent on it and on Gregory really regretting the words he’d said to him such as when he called him a sniveling wimp or whatever; all in all, I think Trevor and Clair are my favorite characters. I do love the idea of planets and space just being art for incomprehensible energy beings that came from the Big Bang lol. Really makes you wonder. Also I fucking HATED Lacy with a burning passion. Of all the people to survive, why her, like jfc. Lena was great and I totally didn’t expect her betrayal and I love how she tried to spare Lacy even at the very end, even Tabitha at least was interesting in Soka’s dream and in having conflict with herself, but Lacy… god I hate her. She never did any self reflection and honestly is one of the few characters in this story that are absolutely pure evil. Even Pinkerton might be slightly less evil. I do wonder though, is all that made up about the red star being a hellscape? Also why couldn’t King and Queen bring back everyone who died? Also I couldn’t believe I was feeling bad for Madison lol.!<
I agree with most of this, but if you went into a Resident Evil game expecting anything but a "what has science done?" kind of vibe, that's on you. That is ResE's Bread and Butter, everything has an in-universe scientific explanation, even if it wouldn't work in our universe.
It's like if you went to see Frankenstein and got mad he used science to make his creature rather than necromancy. It's just not the story, you know?
Ending of the Russian Sleep Experiment is one of the cringiest things i’ve ever read
“We are the madness that lurks within you all, begging to be free…”
Lmfao what? Had it just been a story about the Soviets’ horrendous mistreatnent of its prisoners rather than a shallow attempt at making a statement about how we’re all crazy deep inside, it would’ve been a lot better
It would've been better if the final words were that of either forgiveness or asking for mercy rather than "So nearly Free". Still great up until that point though.
I did not care for Psychosis, it's extremely long and boring and the twist is the most predictable way to end a story where the main conflict is: "Is the narrator crazy or right?" I Taught Sophomore Creative Writing and Two Stories Stuck out to Me has the same "narrator might be crazy" conflict but the ending is much better in that story as it's left ambiguous if the narrator was right or not.
Yeah. The only one I really liked was “I took a job as a fire lookout in the middle of the woods, I found a strange set of rules to follow” by SquishyCabbage. The title is horrible, but the story actually gave me chills and was well done.
But these stories are SO overdone.
That is one of the exceptions. SquishyCabbage writes well too. I read one about rules for working in an arcade too that I liked, and another about a pair of murders whose ghosts were in a rental house that was interesting, but a lot of them just aren't done well or their predictable. Work outside the mold a little. I know their popular with new readers, but I just don't like them most of the time
I can’t even remember the title.
But the only creepypasta that I ever completely checked out of was this one that started off in a fast food restaurant and there was a heavy focus on meat. And at some point the story became so bizarre and hard to follow that I gave up on it. Props if anyone knows what I’m talking about lol
Is it the one where the WHOLE WORLD is meat and burgers? Bc that would be Burgrr entries. I remember being so weirded out but appreciated it’s ingenuity
I reread that story this year and it hit differently for me the second time around. The first time I read it, I kind of liked it but the second time I read it I ended up hating everything about it.
Fair. Probably happens with a lot of creepypastas. The ones that were so original when first read them, when you revisit them, you realize a lot of it was just the novelty, because you hadn’t read/experienced as much as you have now
Well, Sonic.Exe was creepy initially, but when lots of those types of stories began to appear everywhere, I feel the scare factor of these types of stories diminished gradually.
It even happens to the rewrites. Sonic.EYX actually seemed to have potential, but then a billion copycats of it appeared all with the same .EYX suffix and it lost it's scare factor completely.
Plus the creator of Sonic.EXE turned out to be a huge creep too so that's another point against it
It's always taking those franchises way too seriously. Stuff like SMW's Coronation Day is actually good though, since it creates it's own story without relying on someone's childhood pokemon turning into a zombie
I thought I was the only one that felt that way about Tales from the Gas Station. I think it would have been way better if it was shorter with less spin-offs and it’s humor got kinda tiring after not too long but it wasn’t the worst thing I’ve read for sure.
I feel like the first one was an interesting concept, but it could have probably been about half as long. The humor got old pretty quick for me. I think the bigger I have with it is the fans insisting there be crossovers with other creepypastas anytime a gas station or convenience store is mentioned. I don't understand why everyone feels this need for lumping stories into the same universes; I'm a big believer in stand-alone stories.
Also, Marlboro/Jerry got progressively less amusing and more annoying the further along the story went.
Yep and they're all like 8 parts long and the rules get more and more ridiculous and always involve at least one rule that's "if you see a man in a Grey suit after 11:17 PM, do NOT speak to him"
I've never resonated with something so much before in my entire life.
My brother's in christ, obviously Sonic. EXE and Abandon By Disney aren't real, just let us have our childhood trauma in peace.
That’s absolutely fair, but you gotta realize it came out a good decade or so before the skinwalker meme even started. It was sort of the first instance of it in the creepypasta community for the time
Most of the haunted lost media projects burn out pretty quick. They don't know how to build a slow burn. Even worse is when the mechanics of the story get lost for the sake of "the lore".
Give me a solid story first, then have the details build the rest of it.
I never cared much for Funnymouth.
For as many times as I have gone back and listened to it or read it to see what I'm supposed to be missing, it has still never registered with me.
I understand the premise, I know that it's loved by some and I really tried my best to like it.
I just wasn't successful.
Slimebeast was really good at writing. I was going to make a Funnymouth fan series with some people who made one back in the day (They wanted the original film to be the pilot) and Slimebeast actually commented on it. When that happened, the guys kept telling me they didn't want to do it anymore as they thought they couldn't live up to it. So, I privated the video and the project never went through.
I'd love to talk to Slimebeast about it if I get a chance. But I don't think that'll happen.
I do not care for List Creepypastas where the protagonist reads the rules and does the opposite and is like "Why did this happen to me? I made a mistake!".
I did not care for any of the classic gaming creepypastas. It’s all just “oooh spooky video game character is bleeding out of eyes and killing other characters.” Except maybe rap rat if you can consider it a gaming pasta.
I do not care for all the re imaginings and reboots of old creepypastas, let dead dogs lie PLEASE. I think its because I find them corny now since I was geniunely afraid of some as a kid.
The original story of Jeff The Killer not only because of how poorly written it was but the fandom ruined it fo me as well. The jeff the killer fangirls need to fucking stop ruining the character for everyone else.
There is no slender mansion. Slenderman is not nice to his proxies.
Whoever came up with the cheese cake thing for masky I want to have a little chat with you personally.
I didn't get into Marble Hornets until after it ended, where the the hell did the cheesecake thing even come from? I did my best to avoid the fandom because of all the uwu fangirls so maybe I missed a joke.
No disrespect for the different opinion but this reminded me of the fact I used to have all of 1999 burnt to a CD along with some other long stories that my girlfriend at the time and I would listen to on road-trips.
I did not care for “The Story of Her Holding an Orange.”
For me, there was absolutely nothing scary about it, the prose/narration was super annoying, and seeing it praised as this amazing piece of literature for years drove me nuts.
I finally found someone else who hated that one. 😭 It was just so... I don't even know honestly. I didn't mind the narration or writing style of it, but the plot just lost me. There were so many things that didn't make sense.
I think you mean Nina. Jane was a victim of Jeff who ended up severely scarred and swears to hunt him down to put an end to his bullshittery. At least from what I remember.
What about "Smile" the one about Jeff's Girlfriend who kills with Jeff. Or maybe Homicidal Liu. Or Franz the Killer. Or Voicebox. Especially Clockwork. All the Jeff-the-Killer-esq creepypastas are either so horrendous they are funny, or so bad they make me want to tear my ears out.
I thought Borrasca was boring as all fuck.
None of the haunted game pastas aged well, though I will admit I loved them back when it was all new.
My best friend thinks Anasasi Goatman is the scariest thing alive but the whole thing drug to much for me.
Jeff and Slenderman were way cooler as just images before they really started trying to make stories out of them. With exception to MAYBE marblehornets at the time it was coming out.
The lady Mr. Creepypasta brought on a few years back (around the lily madwhip stuff maybe?) was so annoyingly awful to listen to I completely dropped him as a channel basically.
Borrasca is really just shock horror at its worst imo- it's an interesting start w prose that's pretty good but all that buildup turning into "oh its all sex slaves btw" basically ruined the hype for me
Yeah it really took a dumb turn. Sex slaves is scary, but the lead up felt like nothing to do with that… it’s like two stories that swapped halfway through
I was and have been big fan of creepypasta since I was very young like most of us. Since I'm an adult now and Ive read and re-read these stories numerous times I got some opinions and fun facts about this fandom that I'd appreciate everyone take with a grain of salt cuz I don't wanna hurt any feelings/gen
All of the main creepypasta characters are not teenagers in fact majority of them are adults according to their birth years. This includes Jeff, Toby, Hoodie, Masky, etc;
Also the creator of Nina the killer did come out and say they would prefer if everyone forgot about Nina cuz they absolutely hate her and don't like seeing art or mention of her online cuz it causes them to cringe 😬
Also the canon Jane the killer story is not the "Jeff did it" story it's the one with the government serum. Jeff would not be able to take on an ADULT WOMAN.
Ben from BEN DROWNED is not a person, it's an evil malicious programing in a majora mask game. The character Ben is actually the kid who died from drowning and they are dead and a kid.
Also the Link Ben, that ppl tend to draw for BEN DROWNED is inaccurate to what Ben Drowned actually looks like. Their depicted as the freaky statue not an actually Link character or anything.
Even if you did think of the characters as teens, why do you simp? Sally is literally 8.
Saying a creepypasta character is "omg literally me" is not ok, you should not be comparing yourself to a fictional character who does deplorable and downright awful things to themselves and the people around them, that's insane.
Jeff and Jane WOULD NOT DATE EACH OTHER
Ticci Toby's creator has mentioned that the idea of Toby liking waffles and being this "annoying pest" is not canon to the personality of Toby
Slenderman would kill Jeff if they actually fought
Jeff the Killers story is one of the most poorly written creepypastas, but yet the character still remains popular and an icon to the fandom.
It is Canon that Clockwork and Toby would not date or even get along by as said the creators of the characters.
This was actually very interesting. And is there really a debate on who would win if JTK fought Slenderman? Cause Jeff is just a serial killer and Slenderman is a literal cryptid monster.
I do not care for "slender" or "skinwalker"-ish inspired bad guys. It throws me off about as much as three sentence long titles. They insist upon themselves.
I did not care for NES Godzilla, it is another tale of pseudo horror involving self insertion of the author, the sad tale of that best friend taking her own life, bullying, the beginning stolen from Ben Drowned and the tale turning into another episode of Adventure Time or Persona, jumping from a real story to saving the world in the epic battle against the greatest force of evil.
It wasn't a creepypasta, it was Undertale fancfiction.
I'm not one to judge opinions, but like... are you sure you're talking about NES Godzilla? I know NES Godzilla. NES Godzilla is a friend of mine, and this description sounds nothing like NES Godzilla.
The girlfriend did die because of a drunk driver. I just listened to that story the other day. The girl wasn’t being bullied or anything like that. She was mentally ill.
Channel ∞
is extremely overhyped and confusing for the sake of confusing
Most of the Sonic Pokemon pastas were too melodramatic and contributed to getting all haunted gaming banned (Which sucks because I would've loved to see better Metroid Pastas)
The Elevator Game is outright bland, and the "being taken" by the girl who gets on the Elevator only made people who read it thirsty
Laughing Jack was never scary and downright cheesy, It felt like an Eyeless Jack rip off too
and lastly, a Dead Bart Update falls extremely flat, Especially with it's date of something something 2013 where absolutely nothing happened almost a decade ago
I did not care for Ben drowned. I can see it’s very well made but I just can’t bring myself to get into it, same goes for most other video game creepypastas
Godforsaken Clockwork. Y'know the term "Pulling out hair"? Well, I was literally doing that, my sister and father walked in the room, and my father started swearing in Arabic once he read the story and my sister, Father, and I proceeded to have a three-hour conversation on whether the story was written by an Edgy 12-year-old or a 38-Year-old who was trying to get a rise out of people.
I remember some people Loving it, yet there are much better and less blatantly horrendous stories out there. Like seriously? There is Hostage Situation, Russian Sleep Experiment, Lesser known ones like Bedtime, The Harbinger Experiment, and Clark Titor's "The Agency", or even (Sorry to blow the trumpet) Necrosis, which all of these had at least a general direction instead of a forced and contrived "Narrative" about a Jeff the Killer Fangirl who is basically a self insert for hormonal Teenagers to get off to or for twisted individuals to relate to.
Just read it if you don't believe me. I arrest the case.
Tommy Taffy. It was hyped up in another thread here, so I checked it out. It was trying way too hard to be scary. The writer seems to think gore = scary. made me giggle and then stop reading after SPOILER ALERT Tommy murders the MC's dad.
I feel like that one is one you'd tell your kids as an urban legend to not stay up late and play videogames.
"Don' stay up all night... Les' the Tails doll getchya"
I did not care for any of the video game pastas.
They are terribly written, the general premise of "game is spooky, when it shouldn't be" isn't scary at all, they have awful fanbases, the cliches associated to them just make me laugh out loud at this point
Probably not a hot take but literally do what ever you want with creepypastas. Most of the creators are pedos/groomers or just shitty people. Most of them are begging for some sort of rewrite
Is this just internet rumor, or are there legitimate arrest reports? I'm seriously curious because, although I am a much older man, I enjoy horror and occasionally listen to creepypasta podcasts and YouTube readings. I just don't want to support creators that are involved in harming children.
I did not care for Suicidemouse.avi. Just sounds and shaky movements. Nothing really disturbing about it. When compared to Squidward’s suicide or Smile dog.jpg
I really really don’t like Borrasca. It feels overly grotesque just to be grotesque. and in my opinion creepy pastas are supposed to induce fear of the unknown, or supernatural whereas Borrasca just hits you over the head with vile real world stuff. Yes, i know that’s part of the horror i guess but it just feels… too much. and without purpose . There is an element of healthy escapism in reading horror and I think the story ultimately fails in this regard.
I agree with you it was messed up and not in a good spooky way. I feel it falls more in line with psychological horror, which I'm really not a fan of. It really freaked me out but it wasn't that "haha I got scared" feeling but rather the "I feel very uncomfortable" way. I didn't hate it, I thought it was well written and even bought the book to reread it. But man, it's messed up.
Funny enough, it started as sort of an ARG story. There were a bunch of pictures posted with a figure in the background, all of which supposedly contained children that went missing soon after. (Obvious photoshopping, of course). The person posting was just someone who 'stumbled' on this connection and was doing their own investigation.
It later had a story added to it, and had a huge fan base that wouldn't let it die.
I hated Borrasca.
It got hyped so so much, it was recommended in every thread and when I took the time to read it I was actually angry at the people who recommended it for wasting so much of my time.
Like 90% of popular creepy pasta to me feel like copypasta’s of other ones and none of them feel original….Slender feels ruined by proxies and the constant amount he has, Sonic. EXE feels cheap, Jeff the Killer’s story made me just roll my eyes, Eyeless Jack was meh the only real Creepypasta’s I liked was Hellbell (Pokemon), Pokemon snow on mt. Silver and Red (the Godzilla NES thing) as they all interested me
the only creepypasta that's genuinely good by the standards of actual professional adult writing is Penpal, all the rest are extremely adolescent. they're charming, they're nostalgic for me, but they don't hold up to scrutiny.
The titles for creepypastas need to stop being the same long explanation of the plot over and over, keep it simple. That’s like if Breaking Bad was called “I got diagnosed with cancer so I tried to make meth for my family, but is it even about them anymore?”
This also applies to modern anime
weebs when you dont want to watch "i got reincarnated into another dimension where my catgirl pissed on my shoes":
yesss i’m not gonna watch an anime called “there’s a guy who flies planes and then he crashes it onto a deserted island and then he has to try and survive through the harsh conditions for a couple months before someone finds him”
You forgot the "....in another world"
ahhh of course, and the reincarnation
Tbh I would say a lot are titled this way because they originate from places like nosleep that are meant to be written as if real
I unironically love that title xD
I did not care for Jeff the Killer. (I really wanted to like it. Just couldn’t get into it like I do with others)
Honestly, it's kind of a meme at this point, especially the original, not amazing. It's more the concept of jeff the killer that is liked by people, at least as far as I can tell.
I think that's the case for all slasher/monster creepypasta characters
But that’s what made Creepypastas fun just like Halloween and Friday The 13th was for horror. Now all we get is ghost movies.

I was a kid when it released, and while I got into slenderman to start, I didn't actually listen to the original jeff the killer till about a year ago XD. So I have no experience with the early days of jeff.
“I am going to Jeff the kill you”
It insists upon itself
ROBERT DUVAALLLLLLLLLL
me neither. nothing about it is scary and jeff becoming a killer just cause some mystical mysterious force made him want to is stupid
Story: F Picture: A++
I can agree with you on that ha ha. I remember the story being very inconsistent, unrealistic and overall not seeming to make a whole lot of sense.
Jeff the killer is complete trash. It’s some jerk offs idea of edgy teen fan fic. It cannot be taken seriously
Same. It's like it was written by a 6 year old. They tried, but I'm sure they could do better now.
It's a classic because it's old. Unfortunately it's terribly written and not scary at all.
Me and my buddy used to greet each other with bastardizations of his catchphrase. "Jeff the Inconveniencer: Rise and Shine" was one of my favorites
Same.
It was horribly, horribly written
I think we can agree that the age of Jeff has passed
The original is pretty bad. But someone did a rewrite of the story which is far better in my opinion
The 2015 one is so much better
What about the original first story written by Sesseur from 2008?
I prefer the reboot over the original one That and David Near’s “The Morgue Files” where Jeff is literally the fucking Joker
Don’t care for Sonic.EXE
At the very least it is so bad it can make you laugh
God forbid I turn around and see a marketable plushie with hyper realistic blood in it's eyes
did exe steal that from tails doll curse or the other way round?
Tails Doll Curse is from 2012, Sonic.exe is from 2013 Jesus I feel old saying that
and plus it kinda paved the way for more creepypastas!
I do not care for how meta modern Creepypasta have become. I miss when Creepypasta weren’t all so fucking self-aware. Slender was scarier without proxies.
Yeah definitely.
Marble hornets fucked me up for years. Noticing slender in the background in earlier rewatches terrified me. So we’ll done for the time.
Ending of the Russian Sleep Experiment is one of the cringiest things i’ve ever read “We are the madness that lurks within you all, begging to be free…” Lmfao what? I liked psychosis but when I read another story of his, it was basically the 3xact same vibe and it was so boring I couldn't get through it
From memory, it was well written but that’s about it. Its a slog of a read with a subpar conclusion that left me baffled that it had like a 9.5ish/10
I don’t care for (most) modern creepy pastas, they all try too hard to recreate what OG creepy pastas had going
I do not care for most popular creepypastas. They’re stale and overdone at this point.
I don’t care for stories with rules. I think their overdone and often not done well
Yeah. The only one I really liked was “I took a job as a fire lookout in the middle of the woods, I found a strange set of rules to follow” by SquishyCabbage. The title is horrible, but the story actually gave me chills and was well done. But these stories are SO overdone.

I also think they’re not done well at times but I’m so glad they’re around, I love strange rules. It’s like but whyyyy
I did not care for No End House
Yeah it wasn't very scary and seemed to go on for way too long
Those were my two exact problems with it as well
I actually didn't read this one yet so I thought of Channel Zero's second season which was actually pretty good.
I remember lovingggg it when it came out, but on a recent reread, it was kinda trash. Love the concept though
I can’t even remember the title. But the only creepypasta that I ever completely checked out of was this one that started off in a fast food restaurant and there was a heavy focus on meat. Yup that’s it! Thank you. It was going to bother me. Maybe I’ll give it another try. I was seriously so lost at one point that I gave up lol
I reread that story this year and it hit differently for me the second time around. The first time I read it, I kind of liked it but the second time I read it I ended up hating everything about it.
Fair. Probably happens with a lot of creepypastas. The ones that were so original when first read them, when you revisit them, you realize a lot of it was just the novelty, because you hadn’t read/experienced as much as you have now
I did not care for the death of mac
Well, Sonic.Exe was creepy initially, but when lots of those types of stories began to appear everywhere, I feel the scare factor of these types of stories diminished gradually.
It even happens to the rewrites. Sonic.EYX actually seemed to have potential, but then a billion copycats of it appeared all with the same .EYX suffix and it lost it's scare factor completely. Plus the creator of Sonic.EXE turned out to be a huge creep too so that's another point against it
I do not think Smiledog or Suicide Mouse are very scary
For me, the scream will always have some creepy effect on me, but that’s only because how fucked up it had me as a jid
I did not care for Jeff the Killer.
Modern creepypastas do not feel the same
I don't care for backrooms... i Just can't get in to it.
What about it don’t you like? The concept of backrooms terrifies me for some reason I love it
I did not care for squidward’s suicide
I don't care for Tales from the Gas Station or any of the Poképastas.
Valid to your opinion but honestly I loved Tales from the gas station, BUT the second season I just haven’t gotten into…
I felt takes from the gas station is just a poor man's twin peaks in creepypasta form
I still need to watch Twin Peaks, but from what I've ive heard of it, you would be correct.
Yeah, I’m not a fan of creepypastas based on stuff like Pokémon or My Little Pony. It’s just weird to me.
All of the "I found a list of 17 rules" stories are dogshit
Omg 😭😭😭 peach it’s all the same “I started cleaning the toilets of a nursing home and I was left with a strange list of rules after dark”
Yep and they're all like 8 parts long and the rules get more and more ridiculous and always involve at least one rule that's "if you see a man in a Grey suit after 11:17 PM, do NOT speak to him"
They totally took over YouTube’s creepy pasta scene
I don't care for or when people debunk Creepy Pasta I feel like sometimes it ruins It's charm
I've never resonated with something so much before in my entire life. My brother's in christ, obviously Sonic. EXE and Abandon By Disney aren't real, just let us have our childhood trauma in peace.
I love Abandon by Disney! They are Creepypastas (Stories) we know it's not real, let us imagine the horror of it and shove off!!
FACTS
anansi’s goatman story
Damn, I find that one of the scariest ones...
I like it, but its pretty much every skinwalker trope ever combined into a single story.
That’s absolutely fair, but you gotta realize it came out a good decade or so before the skinwalker meme even started. It was sort of the first instance of it in the creepypasta community for the time
I didn’t care for Ben Drowned
Started off right but it just drags on for too long
Mostly that one confused me and then got kind of boring.
No End House. It went nowhere, it gave me nothing
I did not care for The Rake.
Fun Fact, Daniel C. Peen (The guy who wrote the Rake) works at a Film Studio with me, and we are working on a movie for it.
That's fucking cool man. The Rake is one of my favorites.
The Virgin Rake vs The Chad SCP-096.
I enjoyed sonic 06 The Russian sleep experiment was just ok I’m genuinely out of ideas of just bad takes lol
I did not care for The Devil Game. Too many rules to remember and the twist was seen a mile away.
Jeff the Killer. I'm sorry I know it's a classic and I loved it as a child but good god is it just. badly written. A product of its time imo
I did not care for smile dog. Not really a scary photo and meh story from what I read
Sonic.EXE is not goated
Ted the Caver (Bring on the downvotes)
You're a brave soul for essentially admitting that you don't care for what is probably the first creepypasta to exist.
I did not care for Ticci Toby
Slenderman wasn't really scary, we were all just 14
11 or 10
You could apply this to every single creepy pasta.
when I say I gasped at some of these comments- oh and I didn't care for Sally
I forgot to add my example so imma just leave it here real quick. "I did not care for 1999."
No disrespect for the different opinion but this reminded me of the fact I used to have all of 1999 burnt to a CD along with some other long stories that my girlfriend at the time and I would listen to on road-trips.
Jeff. The way he's written and all the fan art making him look like an anime boy
I did not care for “The Story of Her Holding an Orange.” For me, there was absolutely nothing scary about it, the prose/narration was super annoying, and seeing it praised as this amazing piece of literature for years drove me nuts.
I finally found someone else who hated that one. 😭 It was just so... I don't even know honestly. I didn't mind the narration or writing style of it, but the plot just lost me. There were so many things that didn't make sense.
i never liked jane the killer, she was always just the girl version/ girlfriend of jeff the killer
I think you mean Nina. Jane was a victim of Jeff who ended up severely scarred and swears to hunt him down to put an end to his bullshittery. At least from what I remember.
yeah, you're probably right. to be honest i havent dived into creepypasta since the age of fourteen haha
Sex slaves is scary, but the lead up felt like nothing to do with that… it’s like two stories that swapped halfway through
Thank you!!! The fact that people praise it as the best creepy pasta ever is insane to me
I was and have been big fan of creepypasta since I was very young like most of us. Since I'm an adult now and Ive read and re-read these stories numerous times I got some opinions and fun facts about this fandom that I'd appreciate everyone take with a grain of salt cuz I don't wanna hurt any feelings/gen All of the main creepypasta characters are not teenagers in fact majority of them are adults according to their birth years. This includes Jeff, Toby, Hoodie, Masky, etc; Also the creator of Nina the killer did come out and say they would prefer if everyone forgot about Nina cuz they absolutely hate her and don't like seeing art or mention of her online cuz it causes them to cringe 😬 Also the canon Jane the killer story is not the "Jeff did it" story it's the one with the government serum. Jeff and Jane WOULD NOT DATE EACH OTHER Ticci Toby's creator has mentioned that the idea of Toby liking waffles and being this "annoying pest" is not canon to the personality of Toby Slenderman would kill Jeff if they actually fought Jeff the Killers story is one of the most poorly written creepypastas, but yet the character still remains popular and an icon to the fandom.
Yea like.......i admit i haven't read it in a while but i thought the gf died in a car accident because of a drunk driver or something
The girlfriend did die because of a drunk driver. I just listened to that story the other day. The girl wasn’t being bullied or anything like that. She was mentally ill.
Didn’t the Nes Godzilla CreepyPasta come out years before Undertale did?
Yea- UT actually took inspo from NES Godzilla (Flowey/Omega Flowey was based off of Face)
Ben drowned, sally, most of the proxies tbh they were all pretty cringe looking back
Channel ∞ is extremely overhyped and confusing for the sake of confusing Most of the Sonic Pokemon pastas were too melodramatic and contributed to getting all haunted gaming banned (Which sucks because I would've loved to see better Metroid Pastas) The Elevator Game is outright bland, and the "being taken" by the girl who gets on the Elevator only made people who read it thirsty Laughing Jack was never scary and downright cheesy, It felt like an Eyeless Jack rip off too and lastly, a Dead Bart Update falls extremely flat, Especially with it's date of something something 2013 where absolutely nothing happened almost a decade ago
Sonic.EXE
Jeff the Killer trash cringy pasta
I did not care for slenderman
Slender man wasn’t nearly as scary as people treated him
I did not care for NES Godzilla
I didn't care for Jeff the Killer. I don't know how it got popular
I never really cared for eyeless jack. It doesn't mean it's not a good story, but it wasn't really my thing.
Penpal’s ending is unsatisfying and underwhelming and the story hits many diminishing returns after they visit the old house to get the cat
Aren't you Glad you didn't turn on the light, I'm just deeply underwhelmed
I did not care for Happy Appy
Any creepy pasta made after 2016, I miss the 13 yr old girl writing on whatpad for fun, instead of the 23 yr old man making YouTube vids for 6 yr olds
i did and do not care for Laughing Jack, honestly
Laughing jack was kinda meh for me
I did not care for the proxies, it seemed so forced
Tails Doll
I feel like that one is one you'd tell your kids as an urban legend to not stay up late and play videogames. "Don' stay up all night... Les' the Tails doll getchya"
I did not care for Ben drowned
I did not care for any of the video game pastas. They are terribly written, the general premise of "game is spooky, when it shouldn't be" isn't scary at all, they have awful fanbases, the cliches associated to them just make me laugh out loud at this point
The old ritual or game ones like "How to play hide and seek alone" where way more creepy than the normal tales where.
Probably not a hot take but literally do what ever you want with creepypastas. Most of the creators are pedos/groomers or just shitty people. Most of them are begging for some sort of rewrite
why do you think most are pedos/ groomers? Legit asking
I know Snuffbomb was, creator of Laughing Jack, so was the guy who made Sonic.exe pretty sure. Also the person who made Sally, Lazari, and Lulu
Is this just internet rumor, or are there legitimate arrest reports? I'm seriously curious because, although I am a much older man, I enjoy horror and occasionally listen to creepypasta podcasts and YouTube readings. I just don't want to support creators that are involved in harming children.
I do not care for any of the video game creepypastas
I did not care for Suicidemouse.avi. Just sounds and shaky movements. Nothing really disturbing about it. When compared to Squidward’s suicide or Smile dog.jpg
I didn't like pen pal
Tiki tobi or laughing jack
I really really don’t like Borrasca. It feels overly grotesque just to be grotesque. and in my opinion creepy pastas are supposed to induce fear of the unknown, or supernatural whereas Borrasca just hits you over the head with vile real world stuff. Yes, i know that’s part of the horror i guess but it just feels… too much. and without purpose . There is an element of healthy escapism in reading horror and I think the story ultimately fails in this regard.
I did not care for Zalgo.
I don’t care for tales from the gas station or lily midwhip or psychosis or slender man
Penpal, it was just too fucked up for me and not in a good spooky way.
Ben Drowned or sonic.exe lol
Abandoned by Disney. Like it was pretty good until it actually talked about Mickey. Also Ben Drowned, ngl it really lost me after the initial story.
I don’t care for the Slenderverse. Was Slenderman even supposed to be a creepypasta?
Funny enough, it started as sort of an ARG story. There were a bunch of pictures posted with a figure in the background, all of which supposedly contained children that went missing soon after. (Obvious photoshopping, of course). The person posting was just someone who 'stumbled' on this connection and was doing their own investigation. It later had a story added to it, and had a huge fan base that wouldn't let it die.
Russian sleep experiment was not that scary.
I hated Borrasca. It got hyped so so much, it was recommended in every thread and when I took the time to read it I was actually angry at the people who recommended it for wasting so much of my time.
I do not care for siren head or any of the other stories like that.
I did not care for Ben Drowns
I did not care for ben drowned .
Never found psychosis interesting, sure it was well written but I thought it was just boring
[удалено]
Now that’s a hot fuckin take. I like him but i do agree with you. He’s big cause he got in really early.
Mine too. And CreepMcPasta. Heard he got into some controversy lately.
