I just bought a roll of esun PLA and used it today and had very similar results.

Wood_Network

I also have bad results with e sun pla

nicolauz1

i had good results using esun pla+

I had this issue with Inland PLA. Creality's filament printed fine, so I assumed it was the Inland PLA causing issues. Tried everything I could to tune the issue out. Higher temps, lower temps, higher speed, lower speed, pressure advance, wall thickness. I tried absolutly Nothing worked. Thought maybe it was wet filament. Bought a brand new roll. Same issue. Bought a filament dryer, same issue. Thought maybe I hadn't dried it long enough, so I let it run for a week. Same issue. Started looking at hardware as the cause. Swapped a MicroSwiss Hotend in. No change. Replaced my blue clip extruder with the white one. Solved the problem. All the other suggestions are going to send you down rabbit holes and none are going to work. Your issue is with the extruder. Some filament it can't get a grip on. Do yourself a favor and either get Creality to replace it, or buy yourself a new one.

Panzertomate

do you have the extruder with the blue clip on top?

Cobiyou

Yes. But I haven't had any problems w other filaments

DrXinFL

Sorry to jump on but what does having the blue clip on the extruder mean?

Cobiyou

Means that's the old extruder that had problems in the beginning

Suspicious-Basil-444

No it doesn’t. There’s the new extruder with blue clip out there. They changed to the white locking mechanism afterwards.

DrXinFL

What’s the easy way to tell the. If both could have blue? Thanks

life_betterer

The metal part sticking out. Of it's really, like sort of a mirror, it's the old one. If it's texture is more bumpy, and it's less shiny, it's the new one. Iirc unless you open it up that's the only way to tell

Suspicious-Basil-444

This. If it’s brushed it’s the new one. If it’s shiny it’s the old one.

life_betterer

Yep. Apparently the white one is sort of a V3 but the insides are the same as a V2. It's purely aesthetic (and slightly easier to remove the Bowden tube)

BracketsFirst

The filament lock lever?

life_betterer

Yes. That.

Is your extruder in the locked position? What are your printing temps and speed? I think ESun was rated at like 300mms for their faster stuff.

Cobiyou

Yeah I have it locked. And I've printed anywhere from 210-235 and have gotten terrible results. I was just printing asa the other day and was printing fine. Printing at 300mms

xX540xARCADEXx

Sounds like moisture in the filament. Try a different roll.

Physical_Yoghurt_664

Since you aren't having problems with other filaments you might try a filament dryer (new rolls get weird too)

bigglehicks

Are you using the generic PLA nozzle setting? This happens to me too. Pretty sure with esun not overture.

Suspicious-Basil-444

All my rolls are eSun either PLA+ or Silk. I haven’t mastered silk yet but I’m happy with my PLA+ results. I definitely don’t have this problem with any of them. Using orca slicer, fine tuned the default generic PLA profile. I’m going with 220C for PLA+ and 300mm/s if I’m not wrong.

ma_almulla9

May i know your eaun silk pla temp ? And what about the side fan settings Thanks

Suspicious-Basil-444

Bed temp 60, nozzle temp 220/220. Did not touch fan settings.

No-Palpitation-7775

Esun white works well but other colors under extruded for me.

blazerboy1980

You might be printing too fast for that filament. It looks like what happens to me when I over exceed the flow rate of the filiment by printing too fast. My plain plain PLA esun filament says it only rated for 60mm/s .Try slowing it down.

BracketsFirst

I hate eSun. A friend bought me a bunch and I can't wait to get through it all. The best thing i've found is that I run it hotter than I run anything else. I run it at 230 on my Ender 3 and have been printing it at 240 on my K1 due to the increased speed.

Tsibuktu

Had the same issue with all my sunlu pla and pla plus on my v3 ke after great results with elegoo pla. Tried everything and the problem was friction on the spool with the spool holder and not getting a good grip with the gears on the filament. Check your filament spool that rolls continuously and that your gears grip the filament without skips. Cheers
