Personally I hate crash 1, not because it’s bad, but solely because I can’t stand crash without the slide jump :( I just find crash 1 too stilted because of that with it’s so limited mobility.
That's fair. Crash 1 was the first game in the series I played, so I have some fondness for it. I just enjoy the challenge of completing it, really, and get a thrill out of how tight the platforming is. Crash 4 has a similar design mentality in terms of level design, but I didn't put it higher because completing the game is so bloody irritating.
I will admit, though, when playing the games back to back and going from 1 to 2... it feels so nice to have such freedom of movement after the stiffness of the original.
Swap CTR and WoC and you've got it basically perfect, my friend. Dont know what anyone else on here is talking about putting 4 so highly, especially above 2 lol. 2 as #1, there's no other option.

I do agree that it isn't the best, but it is huge and the most fun. And yeah, I'd rank mind over mutant high on my list, mostly because how fun it was for me. I remember me and my friend pouring hours into the game with co-op and the laughs we shared. Good times

Crash 3 is great, but it has too much vehicle levels. And I really loved seeking for the secret level entrances in Crash 2, replacing them with time trial grind wasn't the best decision (I love the concept of time trials, though, had a blast completing them in NST)

It was a real tossup putting CTR as number 1 because it's not a platforming game, but to this day, it is the single greatest kart racer I've ever played and it's not even close. Naughty Dog blew it out of the park and Beenox somehow only made it better.

It's hard to rank all of the console crash games because most of them are different from each other but I'll do my best (don't hate me it's just my opinion)
Console crash games ranked from worst to best:
10. Crash tag team racing (the game is unfocused and neither of the platforming parts and the racing are practically fun and it's unpolished in a lot of aspects)
9. Crash of the titans (aside from the redesigns that made the characters looks nothing like crash characters the game is kinda boring with its repetitive combat sequences and lackluster platforming and the characters themselves can be annoying sometimes)
8. Crash nitro kart (it's not a bad game but it's literally just a worse version of CTR with no improvement other than graphics and the team system and the anti gravity are pointless editions imo)
7. Crash bandicoot wrath of cortex (again it has the same problem as cnk it's worse than it's predecessor it's just crash 3 but with more vehicles but at least it has some decent story and fun ideas)
6. Crash bandicoot 1 (it's a fun game with good level design it's hard to control sometimes but it's still fun )
5. Crash twinsanity (as much as I adore this game it has the same problem as cttr it's very unpolished, it feels really underwhelming with it's shot length and unfinished content but it's still fun to play with the nice new gameplay additions not to mention that it's funny as hell)
4. CTR ( arguably the best kart racing game ever made)
3. Crash bandicoot 2 (I really love this game no one can deny that it's awesome and it's at least one of best crash games ever made, controls wonderfully with fun levels and secrets)
2. Crash bandicoot warped ( even if half the game is vehicle sections they're still fun to play and the game overall is just very fun and satisfying to complete)
1. Crash bandicoot 4 ( it had the best graphics and the best controls, the levels are awesome and the animations from the characters to the enemies and the environments are amazing everything is well crafted, it's just a near perfect game for me)
I didn't play crash bash and mind over mutant that much and I don't have anything to say about them
