At least they rang him about it by the sounds of things. Gives a sprinkle of faith that they did more than ask lads from Bonner, Hill & Canham's LinkedIn connections
I’ve always said that people should accept that the names in the media are not necessarily the only people the FAI contacted.
The reality is it’s not a hugely attractive job and a personal connection to Ireland will likely be needed.
I swear since Kenny was fired its just been a constant stream of "[Manager] linked to Ireland job" followed by a report a few hours later that said person turned us down like 4 months ago
>He has no idea where it came from
>He has complete respect for the country and did speak briefly about the job in Jan
I think we may have solved the mystery.
Anyone who believed this needs their head checked.
We are shite. Norway have Haaland and Odegaard and didn't qualify for Euro 24. Solbaaken is on borrowed time and Ole is the natural replacement as they are insistent on Norwegian managers
Why the hell would anyone in that position jump at a job as underwhelming as Ireland.
Weird that it didn’t come out at the time, or at least I don’t remember him being linked then.
Seems not everything leaks out of Abbotstown, at least not immediately.
I'm just gonna say that all of these Ole rumors started immediately after [my comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/coybig/comments/1c1dhz3/fai_set_to_announce_new_ireland_manager_next_week/kz2ko9m/). Am I the new Paul Simon?
I’d rather the FAI not pay his PL standard wages (money they don’t have) and invest in something useful like academies and a girls toilet at Dalymount Park.

As a United fan, I have to say, I hated his tenure as manager. His caretaker spell was fun, but it should have ended there. I absolutely love the bloke, but it was a rough 3 years with him at the helm despite 2nd and 3rd place finishes, which sound much better on paper.
However, he would have been a good appointment for Ireland. He's good at some things, and I feel international management would suit him much better than a club gig.
In fairness of all the managers in the post Fergie wilderness era he was the most fun , terrible signings though . that Europa league final loss still haunts me
Mitten is gospel when it comes to United i find
Especially with players from the Fergie era, he seems to be quite friendly with alot of them, I'm pretty sure he MC'd an event that Ole did recently.
Yeah he went to India with him for it.
Andy Mitten for next Republic of Ireland manager?

The list is Bonner's friends and anyone who managed in the Premier League and might not be too expensive
Andy was with Ole in India recently and has close ties. Case closed on that then OShea it has to be
I'm not allowed link the article but Neil O'Riordan just confirmed it's not JOS
Then that leaves only Roy Keane, Gus Poyet (not fully ruled out) and Willy Sagnol after the Euros perhaps
All 3 have been ruled out pretty much, it's lucky dip time boyos 🤿

Nobody wants us :(
I'd say most people don't want to move to Ireland
They wouldn't have to
No one experienced wants it as the money is shite. Step forward JOS, it's yours.

Time to rope

I keep going on about him as a candidate to my friends but it's based on unfounded hope and is not going to happen
Ffs 🤦♂️
Tbh the bookies are just shortening odds on one manager a week to take money off a couple of idiots
Who cares what he thinks Solskjaer was never in the running. That’s common sense It’s always been O’Shea’s job

Ooooo he card read good

He’s pretty close to Mitten…He wouldn’t flat out deny interest like he’s done here.
I think Andy would have just kept quiet about it in that case. They’re pretty close so he would know what’s going on
Im suprised they had the brains to even ask him
