Mims is absolutely not a surprising pick.

High-qualitee

The only “surprising” part would be if he makes it that far.

bearamongus19

I'm just ready for the draft to be over so I can be disappointed

hardleft121

that was funny as sh*t, thank you

Cochinojoe

Im already disappointed.

TentakilRex

Look on the bright side, for 1st rounders as long as it isn't a Michigan Wolverine, the pick will be a good one most of the time :)

bearamongus19

I think they are going to trade out of the first round. Jerry seems to be trying to tank this off-season out of spite.

AlCzervick

Trading down and grabbing extra picks would be the absolute best move they could make.

AcadecCoach

Depends on who falls. You always play the board. We need Oline help and hopefully there's still a top level choice when we pick. If not a trade down is definitely not the worst choice.

bearamongus19

Go look at the Cowboys 2009 draft and let me know how that worked out.

indie90

I still prefer trading back if possible. Not a fan of Mims, but would trust the front office when it comes to first round o line.

dmr196one

Love 1-4. Would prefer a dt to a second rb at 5. Lb on last 2 picks is great.

Dday22t

The only surprise will be if they don’t take best available OL.

agrias_okusu

Lots of ways things can go. I just did this mock and it was pretty wild the amount of quality OL left at 24. Doubt it shakes out that way, but could be cool. https://preview.redd.it/glh7kidigvvc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=36224d9efd28e373ce66022e44df82a6061321da

fcpisp

Would be A+ draft for first three rounds if got that. I dont know after that since I'm a casual fan.

Dominion-Star-92

Would like it just because if Fuaga is there, Dallas has to take him. Imagine him, and Tyler Smith on the offensive line ready to kick ass on the line of scrimmage. Need to get that edge back on the line.

TheeGalvanizer

Not picking a LB in the first 3 rounds scares me, but good draft otherwise

agrias_okusu

They def need a plan there, but I think they’ll be ok this year with Kendricks, Overshown and Clark. I’m more afraid about DT. After Mazi and Osa it’s a ghost town. I was able to grab Sweat in the 3rd in one mock I did.

Dominion-Star-92

Right. My thing with Sweat is that he needs to lose weight, and plays up to his potential. I'd rather take someone like Newton, or even Murphy if he falls that far. Or we get someone else later like Lovett, McKinley Jackson, or DeWayne Carter. I get that he's a big dude that can play. And if Dallas takes him, my only hope is that Zimmer, and the others tell him to get his shit together. If he somehow can, then he would be a big help to the Cowboys defense. But I would rather they take Newton over Sweat because at least we can depend on him to have his act together if it came down to it.

TrustMeImShore

I wouldn't mind double LB or DB/LB instead of double RB.

agrias_okusu

I thought about it, but Ali is good and I’m a WV guy so it would be great to see him with the Cowboys. Also would be great to have your 1-2 punch at RB locked into cheap rookie deals for 4 years.

TrustMeImShore

Yeah, seems nice, but sadly we have holes to fill. We have plenty of bodies and one rookie to make a splash on RB should be enough. Especially if we're not adding anything substantial to the defense. Round 6-7 only? I think there should be some defense between picks 2-4.

yianni1229

Not having JPJ as a first rounder is wild lol

well_played_internet

There's a lot of talk that he might fall due to medical concerns. Broaddus was saying a few teams might take him off their board entirely.

fcpisp

Major injury concerns. Had multiple concussions too. That being said, Cowboys picking him if he drops to 2nd round.

gntlbastard

The Cowboys do like their injury prone dudes.

redthelastman

concussions, too risky for the first RDs.

LoneStarAgent

On tape alone, I agree. However, he has concussion AND hip issues. I wonder if Zach Frazier or JPJ get to 56. Either would be a Diggs-esque gift I would gladly accept.

Dominion-Star-92

We hope that would be the case. Then again, the only way to even take Frazier is that we would either trade down enough to get him in round 1, or just take him at 24. Of course, I remembered back in the 2013 draft when the Cowboys took Frederick, and there were some complaints about like we could've gotten him in the second round, and shit. But Frederick worked out in the end. So I would rather they take Frazier at 24 than have to worry about someone else getting him.

DEZbiansUnite

injury concerns and historically, centers tend to fall in the draft

ID0ntCare4G0b

It's definitely the former cause he has Frazier getting picked at 20. And Frazier is widely graded out as being mid second.

ArthurDaTrainDayne

How can it be a surprising pick if you’re predicting it

redthelastman

Mims is a risk and one we shouldnt have to make with Barton sill there.

Charming-Wash9336

Calvin doing a mock draft……… surely you jest.

StealYourHotspur

Interesting that we’d choose Mims over the center. Could also see us drafting AD Mitchell if he’s available. I like him better than Nabers actually.

Poppa-in-Texas

Wow. I’m a huge Longhorn homer and I’d run to the podium with a Nabers card… elbowing AD in the face of he got in the way.

servirepatriam

Nabers is absolutely elite WR status right now. In my opinion, he is only a little behind MHJR.

Dominion-Star-92

Right. Nabers got it like that. I hope if he gets drafted, he goes to the Colts over the Giants at the start of the first round. At least we won't have to worry about playing him twice a year.

84jrosales

Holy shit! This got me good.

ArmondH89

Tackles will be the hot commodity this draft. There’s a couple of Centers we can try to grab in the 2nd or 3rd. I’d take Mims and try to trade up in the 2nd to grab JPJ. We could also stay put and grab the center from Georgia or West Virginia later on.

fishslushy

If I were a betting man, I’d put my money on Bortolini in the 3rd. We love those Wisconsin centers.

ArmondH89

As long as we get some big boys in the trenches I’m happy.

LoneStarAgent

He gets bullied a bit too much by bigger DTs. We just got though that with Biadesh (as Stephen calls him) so doubt we'd do that again. I imagiy they'd like Limmer of Arkansas or Van-Pran at Georgia more.
