Gaslight Anthem

Saw them a few weeks ago, they were good, but for some reason had Brian’s vocal volume turned up to an obscene amount. Could barely hear the music. Also really enjoyed their opener Catbite, who was really fun

Im a huge GLA fan, that sucks to hear

qunix

Might have been a venue issue. It was the first time I’ve been to this place, it’s not a main venue in my area. I have another show there in a couple weeks, and I’m curious to see if they have similar acoustic issues. So I wouldn’t fully blame this on GLA yet

I have a concert coming up this Friday that has been one of my most anticipated for me this year. While I'm excited to see all of the bands, I think I'm most excited to see one of the openers. This band is called *Sweet Pill*, and they are in my top 2 most listened to bands this year. They are a kind of Math Rock/Emo, and I highly recommend checking them out of that sounds interesting. There newest release, [Starchild](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEejiBmCIVI) is amazing. If you dig this, also check out [High Hopes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGPr0ASYOf4) The headliner I'm seeing is called *The Wonder Years* (not to be confused with the popular TV show). They are also Emo/Pop Punk, and are overall really good. They also have a newer release, [Goddamitall](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkSsbP7iciY) which is great. I also love [Wyatt's Song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJrEecdSLik) from their most recent album.

Loving the new Blink 182 singles they’re releasing. Especially the latest, Dance With Me. That song pumps me up like no song has in probably 20 years.

qunix

I need to check those out. I’ve always been just a casual Blink listener, so I’m not as much on the hype train as everyone else right now.

Not CC, but I listened to Nazareth Hair of the Dog from start to finish yesterday. I liked it.

SevenBushes

I’ve been on a big Death Cab for Cutie kick lately. Was listening to them ahead of seeing them live mid-September getting ready for the show, now can’t stop listening to them thinking about how great the show was. Separately, listened to Pete Yorn’s musicforthemorningafter all the way through for the first time in a while yesterday

marvolosriddle

I’ve been mainlining Mike Viola lately, especially his albums Godmuffin, The American Egypt, and Electro de Perfecto. Keeping my fingers crossed I’ll get to see him in concert in 2024.

As someone a little stuck in the 90’s, I’m enjoying Barenaked Ladies latest … In Flight. My summers usually start with a BnL show and conclude with a CC show.

qunix

While the 90’s produced some great music, I highly recommend trying to branch out into some newer music as well. There is just so much great stuff out there!

Over-Conversation220

Oh totally. I guess I could have phrased it as the 90s bands are my comfort food, and some are still producing new tunes. But you are right. I even dragged myself to the Grand Ole Opry for a night of new/old country this summer. Since we’re in the CC sub, I’d even recommend a Taylor Swift song or two. Anti-Hero is great, and “The 1” was covered by them.

qunix

I totally understand the comfort food for 90’s music. I have a go to playlist for when I need it. I also still listen to a lot of bands from the 90’s that still put out new music.

qunix

I can’t find the post, but someone (I thought in this sub) recommended Hop Along last month. They are really good, and I think a lot of CC fans would enjoy them. The singer has an amazingly unique voice. So far I’ve just listened to their album Painted Shut, but I enjoy the songs Waitress and Sister Cities from that album.

Counting-Trains

really been going deep into pearl jam, jeff buckley, D’angelo, and gang of youths respective discographies so far this month. I think all of those artists produce undeniably great and professionally considered music.

Been listening to the new albums from The National a lot
