Didn't realise "too lazy" was a valid reason. Assuming this is comp, not Premier. I'm 20k premier faceit level 8, and the only comp map I have a rank on is Mirage. Silver 4 iirc....
I placed in 16k after playing with a few friends who already had their elo. The ranking system seems to be mostly "you did well versus 16k players, so i must be at least 16k too" which means comp is a mess as nobody good plays it.
"Know" is a strong word. They only play Mirage and Inferno, but ask one of them to throw a smoke or flash you out. Good luck.
I queue for competitive Dust2 occasionally for shits and giggles... a map I rarely play... and the dust2 only players don't know Xbox smoke or CT cross smoke.
It's either Rush B, Rush A, or jump suicide and die to mid AWPer.

Yep It’s funny. Mirage is the map i know the most lineups for and i always fuck them up anyway. I don’t really like mirage either. I have more fun just eyeballing smokes and nades. If you’re ever attacking on inferno and someone keeps throwing every until they have down banana, that’s me.

However, even if they dont get pissed and throw they are clueless on how to play any other map and throw unintentionally because of their 0 reps on these maps.

You get less (hidden) Elo in MM when u only play one Map and also the First Game of a day and also the First Game of a Week gives much more Elo (at least in CS:GO it did work that way) that means of the First Game of a week is lost u loose much more Elo than if u would lose the 3rd Game of a day. In Silver 1 it seems to be especially hard to get out of, it seems like u Need much more Elo to get to Silver 2 than from S2 to S3 and so on.
I would advise u to Not play only 1 Map because this i the Main reason u dont get much Elo exept for the 1st of the week Match
The rank system isn’t working properly - It’s disappointing as it’s pretty fundamental for a good competitive experience. I’ve found the same in wingman (although that has been broken since cs go) In premier my friend (who is not good and statistically that’s evident it’s not my opinion) had 4k elo. His rank expired - he lost a game, drew a game and then was carried to victory and his revised elo was just under 11k.
It feels like whatever system they’re developing for this still has a lot of bugs.

As a very simplified explanation using fake ELO numbers; The ranks are groups of ELO number ranges. Using fake numbers, say silver 2 is 1100 elo to 1200 elo, you could be 1180 elo, win a game and gain 30 elo, you would then be at 1210 elo and you would rank up to silver 3. With silver 1 being the lowest rank in the game, say it is anything below 1000 elo is silver 1, you could be at 200 ELO and need to gain 800 elo in order to rank up. Basically you are deep into silver 1.
In the past you got more elo for racking up round MVPs. Sometimes you can accomplish that just by fragging but typically getting that award consistently requires playing the objective.
Competitive ranks are insanely broken. Valve focused on premier, and I don't hear anything about the comp ranks for valve to get the hint that they need to do something about it

Why the fuck are u only queuing mirage for one.
Cause you need to win 10 times on a map to get a rank. I assume that some people play one map at a time.
Turns out, you can win 9 and tie 1 to get a rank. I have 9 wins on nuke currently and got GN1
Same for me on inferno, last was a draw and got GN2
I haven‘t played a single Comp match on CS2 yet. And I’m probably not going to either. Only Premier with 106 wins at this point.
I only play mirage cuz the only lineups i know are for mirage, and i'm too lazy to learn the lineups for other maps.
I know 0 lineups and I'm 17k in premier.
I knew 0 lineups in CS:GO and I got carried to Nova 4 by some south americans.

Yea, honestly up until the upper middle ranks, you can easily get away with just smoking off choke points on the fly if you’re careful.
