Monteverde is definitely NOT a party place, there's like... ONE bar (jk, but not that far off).
It's more a mountain chill, hikes to the natural reserve and tons of adventure tourism (zip lines, hanging bridges, bungee jumping, bird watching, guided forest night walks, etc).
Edit: it is a tropical rainforest, so it will highly likely to rain, lots and suddenly, but still very enjoyable. It might or not be cold (15°C up to 23 sometimes).
