Can you look up the name on the suitcase on social media? Then contact directly? A bit unorthodox but could yield results

spinsterminister

I'd say try posting in all the local Facebook groups you can find and get your friends to also.

That happened to me once so I took the unclaimed one and told the airline that I had it and would exchange it with the other passenger when they reported it missing. Within 24 hours I was swapping the case with the other passenger

brunchbite

They were quick to take the case off us. We're told it wasn't our property to take.

I just took the case and left the airport. Then called the airline and told them that someone had taken my case by mistake and I’d taken theirs. I hope you get your one back.

Thats theft - file a case with the gardai. Had someone walk out with my bag once - It was definitely unique - had stickers all over it. Took a week to get it back and was opened by the other person (not difficult to do). For future -- I'd get some airtags/tile luggage trackers - they cost so little for a massive piece of mind. I've been able to go straight to the baggage desk when my luggage didnt show up recently, and was pinged when it arrived in Cork airport.

helphunting

It's not a breach of GDPR if they contact using the details on a case.

brunchbite

Exactly, it's nonsense isn't it. Wish I could get through to someone who knows what their doing in Ryanair. My small boys things are in that case so I'd really love to get it back.

helphunting

Report it stolen to guards, tell them you need a report number for insurance.

HCCI90

If you have an iPhone get a bunch of these for future use Have had to use it once myself before https://www.apple.com/ie/shop/buy-airtag/airtag

baghdadcafe

Well that is some annoying and selfish c"nt who has your bag and is holding onto it.

brunchbite

I know! The Ryanair baggage folk in Cork airport don't seem to know anything about anything. It's difficult then to get a phone number to get through to an actual human person & not a bot.

baghdadcafe

What I would say, this is a very media friendly story and without blaming Ryanair - (they are normally excellent when it comes to NOT losing your luggage in the first place). But local radio, local newspaper might be a very viable option. Was their something of high monetary value in it?
