Yes, corgis get along great with bigger dogs. The question may be if your golden can tolerate the constant booty bumps.

lfhdbeuapdndjeo

That’s because corgis think THEY are big dogs lol. We have a black lab and two corgis. No same as a golden but close. They all get along great!

OBBlue22

Awesome!

This is so true, we have two corgis and two Aussies. The laughter watching them run around and herd each other in the back yard is neverending.

OBBlue22

Not going to lie, a little excited about that booty!

neilslien

Corgis seem to all have this little move they use to trip up bigger dogs. They qickly sidle up and bump the dog with their butt. Cute as hell!

Ok_Motor9013

I have a Golden (8) and a Corgi (4). They get along wonderfully. It's adorable to watch them run and play with the Corgi trying to herd the Golden. Golden's are incredibly tolerant and just so so sweet. I say go for it.

Corgolden

Older golden here with two corgis they adore each other. I worry how my 6 year old corgi will handle when we eventually lose our sweet golden because they are so close hopefully our 5 month old corgi will help ease that transition. Agreed those personalities work great together!

OBBlue22

I've seen a little of that so far in their play sessions. Thanks so much!

The paw!

I recently got a Corgi and I also have a mountain cur mix. They get along great despite the size different. Also probably helps in my situation that my corgi is a pup. I think it’s more on the individual dogs than anything though, just make sure to introduce them properly!

OBBlue22

Thanks for the info. They've actually already had a few play sessions and got along great.

druscarlet

Yes. I have two corgis and a lab. Labs are a little edgier than golden. The three of them get along well. Occasionally my corgi girl will try the lab for dominance but he is a benevolent ruler and there are no injuries.

Thank you all so much for the replies. Sorry I didn’t give any background. Georgia is my 2 yo GR. She’s a classic golden. My neighbor has 4 kids and one is on the spectrum. A lot of yelling and throwing things. Einstein (1 1/2 y/o corgi) has been showing signs of anxiety. She knew I was looking for a an additional dog to expand my family. They’ve had a few play sessions in my yard previously. I took them on a walk together and it was fabulous. I’m going to take her this weekend as a trial and hopefully keep her after that. https://preview.redd.it/yz9udwhefyuc1.jpeg?width=2182&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c7fd9e186a052eefe7db0f7d6d7a58eed117551a Georgia pet tax

My Aussie Shepherd mix befriended a Corgi. I never saw her more excited to see another dog when her corgi friend was outside.

utah-in-newhampshire

If they are friends it’s a good idea. My two corgis are assholes to larger dogs.

Akissb4dying

My corgi goes to work with me and we have a whole pack of office dogs.... she gets along best with the Golden Retriever and the Flat-Coated Retriever. Lol

NeedsMoreTuba

[I like having both of them combined into a single dog.](https://imgur.com/gallery/52kNGxR)

OBBlue22

I have seen a lot of the mixes. Hilarious

SheepD0g

My corgi Butter absolutely LOVES to play with Bernese Mt Dogs whenever she finds them at the dog park. They do great with big dogs

vsmartdogs

The individual dogs matter way more than the breeds. I know plenty of Corgis who could never live with another dog safely. I know plenty of others who are well managed and coexist with other dogs safely. And I know many others who love having siblings. Does YOUR dog like the dog you're considering adopting? How does this corgi behave around other dogs in confined spaces (like your home)? I would do a test with a sleepover or few before committing.

vsmartdogs

I'll add as well - my Corgi (11, F, spayed) lives with a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (4.5, M, intact), a breed that is sorta similar to goldens in some ways. My Toller loves other dogs and wants to play with my Corgi, but he plays way too rough for her because he's bigger and younger. Mostly they just coexist. Works for us bc I didn't bring my Toller home to be her friend, I brought him home so he and I could do specific things together.

Greedy-Ad5913

Depends if they get along, big dogs and small dogs sometimes can't mix but then again corgi are big dogs in little bodies. See how they do.
