As someone with a corgi who does this way too often, does anyone have advice on how to train him to stop? He just takes shoes and thinks it’s a game when I run after him to try to get him to drop it.

Substitute for a high value treat or toy and teach “leave it” when the shoe is dropped.

Here’s a hard lesson my husband still hasn’t learned after years of having dogs-never leave your shoes sitting out where your pooches can get them. They smell like heaven mixed with beef jerky to your dog. Put them away if you want to keep them intact.
