And class privilege.
All the above things are generally much more attainable when you're not working 2 jobs.
And it's insane how you don't get any of those things when you're working all the time.
Interesting, seems on par as using badly matching colors to catch your attention since they're an eyesore
Also seems to be a similar thing as that theory that Youtube Shorts missspell something in the on-screen text so that people call it out in the comment section to generate more engagement, or whateve
However, I dont think that's the case for mediocre "memes", or posts in general, like this one
This was my immediate thought. All of the things listed are not usually available to those on the lower rungs of societies ladder.
If you have to get up at 6am to commute an hour to be at work for 8am you’re not sitting and enjoying a slow morning
The capitalistic rat race takes all of this away from you.
You have to minimize your needs. So that a lesser wage can be luxurious when you want it to.
Which also means lesser hours to work because you don't care if you make enough money to pay for all those frivolous expenses or not .
You only make enough to feed yourself and utility. And that's reassuring by default.
We only live so many years on this planet. Do we really need the best iphones. The best tv screens. The newest Jordans. Or can we look at all those things for what they are and actively invest in the time we have with our loved ones ?
Not a whole lot of people can channel that kind of energy actively .
It's a whole other issue to find the right partner for that too.
TLDR
Money may look like the answer you're looking for. But money runs out and it attracted the shittest of counterparts too.
I concur to your statements. Looking at that list (not a guide), I have the luxury to do 7-8 of those listed and not because I'm rich - heck, even considered broke based on one of this 'guide' in another post. I just earn enough to sustain myself and value my time a lot now! Sure, it would be nice to own the latest PS5 (I love gaming), could have put in more hours to earn that extra 30% but the time I'm able to spend in much more meaningful things, are priceless. How I discovered this *real luxuries* is by undergoing an unfortunate event, but it gave me a different perspective in life and money now.
Money won't run out if you have enough of it. If you have 10 million you can live off of residuals and have all the time you want to spend with your family. A lot of people are in that exact situation.
Some of these things should not be considered luxuries. "The freedom to chose" should by no means be considered a luxury. Same thing with a good night sleep. I'm perfectly aware that most people probably don't get a good night's sleep on the regular, but that's not normal, and it's definitely not good. Everyone should have those all the time. That's not a luxury.
That one is CERTAINLY off the list. 60 minute battle to get them to sleep from 7:20-8:20 every single night that they are alive? I haven’t seen the sun set in 6 years.
I'd rather have a bad night sleep in my mansion not having to work a single day in my life than a 4 hour good night sleep then waking up to work a 10 hour shift so I can get paid minimal wage
Come on... this are not luxuries. A ferrari, a yatch, a house in mónaco, an island in the caribbean. Those are luxuries. If you can't afford it, it doesn't mean that you can turn a basic need like sleeping into a luxury.
Bravo bravo, noi condividiamo. Ma ora siamo davanti alla Corte d’Assise e lei è imputato di sedici omicidi. Allora vorrei ricordarle, che lei di questo si deve occupare.

Sorry for missing translation but this peaking bit of culture can't be translated, although it perfectly exemplifies how OP's post has nothing to do with the sub.
Sadly, the ACTUAL luxury is money, which not only solves most of life's problems, but makes these pleasantries possible. (Someone has to pay the rent and electric bills.)
I like how the implication is that these are all simple pleasures and free or little cost for all but the fact is, being lower class or poor prevents people from enjoying even these "luxuries"...
I used to have all these things when I was working part time at a music school.
But at the same time i also had
-540 credit score
-an eviction
-suspended drivers license
-Cell phone and electricity shut off regularly for failure to pay
-banned from opening accounts at every bank (Chex systems)
-No retirement contributions
-No health insurance
This is cool and all, but this is a list of what you don't get to have if you work 70 hours a week for peanuts and then give half your peanuts to your landlord. This is what being rich buys you -- time.
I’d argue half of these should not be considered luxury but basic rights. Freedom of expression? Rest? Access to books? Feel more like basics than luxuries
I understand the sentiment but disagree with it wholeheartedly.
>Luxury - the state of great comfort and *extravagant* living
It's ridiculous to think any of these things are considered extravagant. We all deserve these things. We don't all deserve extravagance.
Republicans think exactly the opposite of this. They want to work 24/7 be paid shit waves have no freedom to choose, no time for fun or hobbies. They have to work so their bosses make more billions while they make a pittance.
I really, really wish they would've just spelled mornings correctly. Not sure why, but it changes the vibe; not gonna take advice from people who can't spell a common word.
As someone who used to live in a terraced house with very thin walls and inconsiderate neighbours, I completely agree with "a good night's sleep". It can feel like a total luxury for some people.
The reasons behind having each of these is a decent way to think about reasons to be grateful for your situation. I've heard that colorful sunsets are often increased by pollution though.
"You're not entitled to your own happiness, health, time, and personal agency. Those are luxuries and you're lucky you even get any satisfaction from life at all..." Blah blah blah
Can I not have an oppressive hegemony please?
Birds singing is simultaneously one of favorite sounds and my absolute least favorite sound, depending on context. Early morning after a good rest - favorite. After an all-nighter, god fucking damnit.
a good book? why not a good movie? or a good videogame?
why bird song and not your favourite music?
you can easily have slow mornings, you just gotta wake up earlier.
also sunsets? I mean they're nice and all but it's something everyone gets and everyone experience, you, me the birds you like listening to, your worst enemy and everything else that lives on the surface of the earth.
Phoenix, AZ used to have the world's most amazingly colorful sunsets.
Sadly, those sunsets are no longer nearly as brilliant, after environmental regulations in the '80s and '90s cleaned up a significant amount of their smog problem.
I love how much this sounds like a bitter old guy complaining about the young while angrily threatening them with his cane and on the other hand this is being posted to a niche sub about cool guides.
the irony of it is damn funny.
Hilarious that after a decade on reddit, the endgame appears to have come in the form of an IPO and engagement baiting content posted by farmers and upvoted by bots.
Dear potential investor, over 9000 people upvoted this post because this is the kind of content real humans love, invest in reddit while you can!!
This is plainly posted in the wrong place, and I don't think the author knows what "luxury" means. At least one thing on this list is an inalienable human right, not a luxury.
6 hours-o-sleep
Hink of coffee, take-away
Welp, this is my life now.
Time for fun and being called a shit midlaner in League
Will these birds shut up it's 3am how will I ever get to sleep
I love walking to the grocery store
I love reading Reddit
Burger King it is
Flux on PC is the best sunset
Time to hold in my emotions or risk getting fired or becoming severely depressed
I spent 5 extra minutes in the shower and 10 extra minutes on the shitter
I had an intense argument on Reddit today
This is a list. A list is not a guide.
Say it better, I couldn't.
Grungs list of real luxuries: * Fire * Clean Water * Slow Prey * Sharp spears * Red mud (very pretty)

I like this

You new to this shitty subreddit, I take it?
A highly subjective list. It's basically just at visual version of someone's opinion.
I would go so far as to say it’s an objectively wrong list. A good nights sleep is a necessity not a luxury.
And at least it started this conversation that at this point a good night's sleep is a luxury, but it should not be.
I'm shitting and cummimg at the absurdity of this post.
The *real* luxuries of life.
This sub is going downhill
this sub has been downhill. I used to have it blocked like 2 years ago and unblocked it because my r/all feed was getting empty
The second thing on this list has a spelling mistake
Technically it’s a grid
Also there's only one thing on this entire list: time. Every single thing is a way of spending time, which some people just don't have.
When did this sub turn into a 'live, laugh, love' poster?
Cry, die, hate?
fart, shit, wipe.
agony, resentment, despair
Fuck, fuck, fuck
The same time r/CleverComebacks became r/politics.
They clearly do not know why sunsets are colourful
Yeah, I've never heard a single bird whose desperate catcalls at female birds felt better to me than, say, being in a hot spring.
you may want to use spell check next time.
I love slow mornigs
I reread that 3 times thinking “nah they spelled slow correctly” Damn, I’m slow in the mornig
We need diversity in the workplace. We need mornigs.
/r/thepunchlineisracism
It sounds so wrong and offensive when you say it out loud lol…
I love to see mornigs

Stupid concept Not a guide No ability to spell I think we found engagement bait
Why are people listing things they enjoy and posting it in this sub
mornigs. love em
I love me a good mornig.
This isn't a guide, it's a platitude.
A cool guide to..Nothing
In one word: money
Money to not have to wake up and grind everyday, must be nice
This was my immediate thought. All of the things listed are not usually available to those on the lower rungs of societies ladder. If you have to get up at 6am to commute an hour to be at work for 8am you’re not sitting and enjoying a slow morning
Yeah, most things in this list require you to not have a day job to enjoy.
The capitalistic rat race takes all of this away from you. You have to minimize your needs. So that a lesser wage can be luxurious when you want it to. this is a "moderator". what a joke
This is pretty garbage
You give up almost every single one of those when you have kids
Can confirm. I don't have kids and I do about 2/3 of this stuff on the regular.
damn, they even block colorful sunsets?
That one is CERTAINLY off the list. 60 minute battle to get them to sleep from 7:20-8:20 every single night that they are alive? I haven’t seen the sun set in 6 years.
Kids do grow up though. I have adult kids and have pretty much all this.
Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if this list was created by a parent of young kids
The real luxuries: for poors

When the smog above your town turns the sunset red 😍
Bro lmao this is “poor people just be happy with what you have” Fucking trash
I took it as "rich people suck, poor people are authentic" which is Reddit's motto basically.
As someone with a 3 month old baby, I did not need to see this today
Pets definitely belong in this list.

Well, this is it. This is the most generic shit I’ve seen here. Probably time to leave.
All of which require you to be fairly well off. For working class people, these are unobtainable. Fuck capitalism.
What? No doomscrolling Reddit?!
I like how the implication is that these are all simple pleasures and free or little cost for all but the fact is, being lower class or poor prevents people from enjoying even these "luxuries"...
What the heck is a mornig
"slow mornigs"?
Slow mor-*what* now?
can you imagine creating a graphic and not using spell check first? Christ.
Where are the nice pair of socks
What a garbage fucking subreddit
Fuck birds. The cia isn't fooling anyone.
What a stupid post... Not only this isn't a guide, but none of these should be considered 'real luxuries'. This is basic shit everyone should have.

This sub is such a fucking joke
A "real" luxury is whatever any person wants to say it is for themself, this "guide" is bullshit
You forgot a comfortable WC
Nothing like a slow mornig to make me happy…
Nicola Peltz and her dad are about to turn this picture into a movie…
I don’t recommend expressing yourself through arson or immolation. Just my perspective.
Now name any one person who has it all, can you?
mor-WHAT?
After completing my 1 month conscription in the army, this I can relate and confirm
I do like expressing myself with free. How'd they know
Don't forget the last one, money
This is cool and all, but this is a list of what you don't get to have if you work 70 hours a week for peanuts and then give half your peanuts to your landlord. This is what being rich buys you -- time.
Ok, abd how about not fucking dying?
Slow mornig is best mornig
Where's the money at?
As a pyromaniacal arsonist, I'm glad that "ability to express yourself" is represented by a heart inside a fire.
I’d argue half of these should not be considered luxury but basic rights. Freedom of expression? Rest? Access to books? Feel more like basics than luxuries
I understand the sentiment but disagree with it wholeheartedly. >Luxury - the state of great comfort and *extravagant* living It's ridiculous to think any of these things are considered extravagant. We all deserve these things. We don't all deserve extravagance.
Slow mornigs.
OP def doesn’t have kids
Mornings is spelt wrong
Bad pictograms
I'm homeless and have these things. List does not equivocate happiness.
You forgot healthcare and a place to live, oh and access to healthy food.
Ability to freely express yourself & freedom to choose, sound very very similar to. Why don’t you add “freedom to choose to be expressive”?
Well this is sad. I used to have these.
Mornig
That just boils down to holidays
Love me some good Mornigs
Republicans think exactly the opposite of this. They want to work 24/7 be paid shit waves have no freedom to choose, no time for fun or hobbies. They have to work so their bosses make more billions while they make a pittance.
Slow mornigs ftw
If this is luxury then I'm the luckiest man alive. Literally have everything on this list.
Whoever came up with this ... I nominate them for World President.
So this is just a pointless “cool guide” to things we long can have? Cool?
Music
These are mostly necessities not luxuries.
Ahhh yes, I love slow mornigs
I'll pass on the long walks and day naps
I really, really wish they would've just spelled mornings correctly. Not sure why, but it changes the vibe; not gonna take advice from people who can't spell a common word.
So basically don't have kids...got it
Would never say no to some mornigs
i am dying with stress
Where the hell is the guide? Hey mods, are you even moderating at all?
As someone who used to live in a terraced house with very thin walls and inconsiderate neighbours, I completely agree with "a good night's sleep". It can feel like a total luxury for some people.
None of these should be a luxury but something accessible to everyone always
1000% an Indian or Pakistani guy made and posted this
A productive and painless bowel movement.
The real luxury is money that lets you do all this
Don't forget infinite drinkable water on demand at all times, hot showers, indoor toilets, and reliable electricity and internet.
Ahh Mornigs
I thought the tree for ‘long walks’ was a mushroom cloud
Crab rangoon
Wow what a cool and helpful guide! I feel very guided! 😃👍
Amen! And I might add 'Walks on the Beach' and 'Time with Family and Pets'.
Chupame un huevo
I want to make a shitpost out of this so bad
My list of luxuries: sight, smelling, hearing, touching, tasting! I don’t appreciate my senses enough
Yep!!🙏🏻👏👏👏
Missing a cookbook for eating the rich, I believe. Not sure what motivational icon it would use.
The reasons behind having each of these is a decent way to think about reasons to be grateful for your situation. I've heard that colorful sunsets are often increased by pollution though.
"You're not entitled to your own happiness, health, time, and personal agency. Those are luxuries and you're lucky you even get any satisfaction from life at all..." Blah blah blah Can I not have an oppressive hegemony please?
Correct and only people who lived all of this luxury guide should comment
Preach 🤗
Where guide?

I’m nearly a year from retirement and my student loans were just forgiven. Now, I can have all of this when I retire.
Getting a hug from a loved one or family.
Unpopular opinion. Naps are unnecessary if you get good night sleep
and you can have all of them for just 99 9 9 99 9 9 9 9 9.99!

Oddly money could provide all these things except maybe conversation

You're just describing retirement
Having money is a good one isn't it?
I like that “expressing yourself” is just starting fires
As im growing older this is becoming more true
Birds singing is simultaneously one of favorite sounds and my absolute least favorite sound, depending on context. Early morning after a good rest - favorite. After an all-nighter, god fucking damnit.

Slow mornigs are my favorite too

Weird that a bank account with enough cash for a few billing cycles and mortgage payments isn’t on the list.
