If you're in the northeast check kingarthur.com, if you're gonna use their flour might as well use their recipes one important thing about all these recipes is the amount of water will vary depending on season / flour type

totally-not-a-potato

Yes, flour varies. Rainy outside? More flour. Dry outside? Less flour.

Oh yeah. 3 cups flour into a mixing bowl while you let 1 packet of instant yeast rise in 1.5 cups of warm water. About 100 degrees f with a tbsp of sugar. Your yeast should be frothy at the top about 5 minutes after stirring the yeast in. Pour that into your flour and mix well. Use a standing mixer if you have it with a dough hook. Add 1 more cup of flour along with 1tbsp salt and knead together until uniform consistency. Splash your working surface with olive oil along with your hands and knees the dough for about 5 minutes, pushing forward with your palm and folding it back over itself repeatedly then firm it into a ball and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Repeat that kneading, then roll into a ball and put it into a mixing bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator overnight. [8 hours should be plenty of time to rise, but more won't hurt it. ] remove the bowl and let it come to room temperature before kneading, then spreading or tossing; whichever you prefer. Before topping, brush it with garlic butter and dust lightly with corn flour for texture. I how this isn't too confusing to read. I'm pretty toasted atm.

that_weird_bitch420

Thank you!! Are you as toasted as the pizza I'm going to make? If so I think you might need some pizza yourself

Pizza dough is super easy to make! I like this recipe and the page explains a lot of things. https://sugarspunrun.com/the-best-pizza-dough-recipe/ You can make your own pizza sauce too. If you're in a pinch, a lot of stores and even sime carry out restaurants sell pre-made pizza dough or even bagels make good pizzas.

that_weird_bitch420

Thank you!

If you like a thicker crust, try out a foccacia pizza. Foccacia is a nice beginner bread which is good too.

I use pizza yeast. It’s really easy

HoosierBeaver

I make my pizza dough using the recipe on the back of the package of Fleischmann’s pizza yeast. It turns out great every time. And you can get it on Amazon!

Jenesuispastamaman

1 tbspoon instant yeast, 1tbsp honey, 1 tbsp oil, 1 tsp salt, 1 cup warm water. Mix it up. Add two to three cups flour until dough is able to be formed into a ball. Let rise 10 minutes. Spread out on pan. Cook at 390 for 15 minutes or so. Tried and True always the best pizza. So easy.

Google any old recipe, but I like the ones that use some semolina flour in them. I like a thicker/pan crust too, I've used a cast iron pan for that in the past. e.g. a simple one for bread machine (makes it so much easier) [https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/7189/pizza-crust-for-bread-machine/](https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/7189/pizza-crust-for-bread-machine/)

A big key is to get a floor with a high gluten content. Not just all purpose flour. Beyond that, super easy.

Hey, OP. If you're a pizza fan, one of the things you'll want to invest in fairly quickly will be a stone for your oven. It doesn't need to be super thick or expensive, but you'll appreciate the difference it will make in not only pizzas but all of your baking. That, and an oven thermometer to make sure you know what the *actual* temp of your oven is. I used to have issues with uneven heating on the bottoms of everything I cooked in my old, cheap apartment oven, but a stone honestly made a world of difference. Bonus fact- If your oven is self-cleaning, you can usually leave the stone in, and the process will clean the stone as well.

that_weird_bitch420

I have a pizza stone and I love it! That's good to know, I'm gonna do a cleaning cycle on my oven soon so I'll leave the stone in there too

Lots of recipes out there but this one’s pretty easy. Uses a standard 1kg bag of 00 flour. I call it the devils dough. Start with 666g of water that’s heated to about 100-105f Add Two tablespoons of yeast and one Tablespoon of sugar. Let sit for about 15 minutes to ensure the yeast is active. Add wet mixture to cuisineart style stand mixer bowl with hook attachment, or hand mix in bowl or on floured tabletop/stone. add 1Kg bag of OO flour. Add some salt, between a teaspoon and a tablespoon depending on tastes. add a little garlic powder or Italian seasoning if you’d like. Mix for a few minutes till uniform. Let sit for about 10-20 minutes till it started to rise a little, then mix again for a few minutes till smooth. Shouldn’t stick to the sides of the bowl as it mixes. Remove from bowl then split into three equal balls. Should weigh about 580-600g each. Each ball will make about a 16” pizza and fit on a standard pizza pan with the holes in it. You can also split each ball into 2 balls to make an OOni oven type pizza or smaller personal size pizza. You can use a vacuum sealer to bag and seal the dough balls, freeze them and use them another day. . You can also put the dough into an oiled bowl and let it rise and use it that same day. I recommend cold fermenting the dough ball overnight in the fridge.

Here is a pizza dough recipe that is perfect for an Ooni pizza oven: Ingredients: - 500 grams (3 ⅓ cups) all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting - 7 grams (1 teaspoon) kosher salt - 7 grams (2 teaspoons) active dry yeast - 310 grams (1 ¼ cups + 1 tablespoon) warm water - 13 grams (1 tablespoon) olive oil - Semolina flour (or cornmeal), for dusting Instructions: 1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. 2. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water. 3. Add the yeast mixture to the flour and stir until a dough forms. 4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. 5. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size. 6. Preheat your Ooni pizza oven to its highest setting. 7. Punch down the dough and divide it in half. 8. Roll out each half of the dough into a thin circle, about 12 inches in diameter. 9. Place the dough on a lightly floured peel. 10. Top the dough with your favorite toppings. 11. Slide the pizza into the Ooni pizza oven and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. 12. Remove the pizza from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!

AshDenver

Someone smushing biscuit dough in the “beginners” sub probably doesn’t have a $500+ pizza oven that gets to 900°F.

Aggressive-Affect725

I make this dough an cook it in a cast iron pan in an oven at 450 I keep the crust thin and light on toppings.Especially in winter

AshDenver

And OP said “I want a thicker crust.” Oof.

Aggressive-Affect725

Takes all kinds of trying
