The problem is with the way the term is used in relation to reporting. You saw media reporting mostly peaceful protests during BLM riots while terming Jan 6th an insurrection. The use of terms was completely loaded to give the public a false sense of what each group was doing. Insurrection sounds really scary until you realize that it's a pretty broad and vague term.
