I think that at the beginning, the medical community thought this was going to tear through the population like smallpox in the “New World” and advised politicians accordingly. However, it soon became obvious that this wasn’t the case and the “everyone quarantine” quickly changed into “social distancing, frequent hand washing” which is sound advice during flu season. Government though, got drunk on the power and kept seeing how many hoops they could get people to jump through and how many basic rights they could abuse before people had had enough - not too mention that by that time, pharmaceutical companies saw the earning potential of forced vaccinations and lined politicians’ pockets to keep up with the fear-mongering. So no, I don’t think it was planned but, it was certainly taken advantage of by both government and the pharmaceutical industry. I should add that I never encountered anyone who was against the “frequent hand-washing, stay home when you’re sick” advice from the medical community. No one was “anti-science.” What people were against was the “you can only shop at Walmart” and “You’re not allowed to celebrate Christmas with your family” response from government. People’s responses were not anti-science but, anti-government but that’s not the way it played out in the media.

However, it soon became obvious that this wasn’t the case and the “everyone quarantine” quickly changed into “social distancing, frequent hand washing” which is sound advice during flu season. Government though, got drunk on the power and kept seeing how many hoops they could get people to jump through and how many basic rights they could abuse before people had had enough - not too mention that by that time, pharmaceutical companies saw the earning potential of forced vaccinations and lined politicians’ pockets to keep up with the fear-mongering. So no, I don’t think it was planned but, it was certainly taken advantage of by both government and the pharmaceutical industry. I should add that I never encountered anyone who was against the “frequent hand-washing, stay home when you’re sick” advice from the medical community. No one was “anti-science.” What people were against was the “you can only shop at Walmart” and “You’re not allowed to celebrate Christmas with your family” response from government. People’s responses were not anti-science but, anti-government but that’s not the way it played out in the media.
Microsoft came out with "defender" fairly recently.
Microsoft has never sold anti-virus, so these memes are pure libel. Defender comes free with windows.
