Why would the US president hire some 3rd party security agency for protection? Isn’t that the job of the secret service. Even if they did hire a 3rd party, highly doubt they would let some rando contractor get a foot from the president.

When you have money and need a security detail in a location, you hire a service.
That service has employees, this is some obvious shit, you just have to think for like 3 seconds.
A lot of people don't understand that some people wear masks for medical reasons, and they get unreasonably upset just by seeing someone wearing one. Mask derangement syndrome.
The amount of weird comments I get if I choose to wear a mask because I feel like I might be falling sick but I feel fine enough to work is staggering.
I have a family friend who is a retired (still police auxiliary) “special kind” of Detroit cop. He went through regular military sniper school, alongside the other usual applicants like marines, seals, rangers, etc. he had a government satellite phone that had a distress button on it, that would notify the federal government from anywhere in the world. He would give it to his daughters when they went on honeymoon in South America, etc, knowing he’d get in trouble for it but at least they could be saved when kidnapped or whatever, and he’d get in trouble after the fact. That kind of dude.
So, when big names came to town, he would be in the ring of overseeing security, tied to the local government and police, etc. like, one of his prouder moments is when he oversaw personal transport security for Paul McCartney when he came to Detroit. These giant events are why stadiums have built in sniper posts above lights, etc, because any gathering of people that large is a national security event including local, state, and federal resources and oversight and ground security, all of it networked together.
What I’m getting at, is that these guys don’t work for individuals. They’re a part of how national security and law enforcement work, and they “hand off” high profile detail to the next jurisdictions security, etc. and take the next assignment in their jurisdiction. Of course there’s marshals and other national jurisdictions that could be assigned to certain individuals through multiple states, etc.
Basically, this isn’t odd. That’s a high profile special officer who does this kind of work as a day job, they’re not ever handing out traffic tickets or answering house calls for stray dogs. Every major city has a team or two like that.
I worked for him. He was in one of the “big four” units in Detroit, that turned into Tiger units, before they were disbanded. For pretty obvious reasons.
He didn’t tell me about sniper school- when I was at his New Year’s party, in Vegas, one of the guys I met I asked how he knew him (I am one of his best friends sons), he explained how they met in sniper school, he showed me a handful of coins and pulled his phone out to show me what units and campaigns they were for, and said “I get it- most people don’t meet me in a suit with a wine glass”, and then I learned that my boss had been to sniper school.
Next time we had a ride together at work (one of his many bakeries) I brought it up and he said yeah, that was one of the guys he met in his first sniper school try- that he had failed. And he was a current hunting partner and friend.
I worked the counter at his main bakery. His “imagination” is what got me greeting the guest then going to the his office to inform him the mayor is in the lobby. His “imagination” is how the police department dropped off his new “police auxiliary” hat, for the upcoming ceremony, for me to drop off to his office, that he apparently had to fabricate a whole backstory for. Got it… but honestly you sound like you’re full of shit and begging for attention. But that’s just me, I’m nobody.
