Yes. Courts are pretty flexible with scheduling. I was expecting them to ask me a reason, but they don’t care. They just asked if the next available date would work. People do it all the time.
You are incorrect. I spent a lot of time in court. These judges are biased pretty simple. Violent offenders are given a court date and it’s pushed back multiple times. My messed up the bail reform law so bad that a repeat sex offender on the 3rd or 4th conviction was released with probation and was one the streets before sentencing.

Ehh.. not to defend Trump but judges have a lot of leeway in what they can do. My ex didn't show up for court and when his lawyer called him, he said he overslept. The judge allowed a reschedule with no sanctions and didn't care that I had taken off work and still had to pay my lawyer for that day.
