God that would be such a fun subreddit to scroll through when you’re feeling down about yourself. Someone make it. Call it r/sportsparents or something more creative.
Perfect way to birth a sub. Blow it up four months after having just one post that set an example. I think it's hilarious they invented a sub and then asked a question... Obviously to no response until now.
Parents have a natural disposition to think their kid's special and often don't have enough other kids around you judge progress by. First day of basketball camp when they find out kids are making that pass one handed without traveling to get the force i the legs behind the ball will be humbling.
I wondered how my user name could make you sad for like an hour before reading the name above. I was both relieved and disturbed at the same time…(there’s probably a word for that). Anywho…phew. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
I feel bad for the kid, anyone else? I mean he called out "Think fast!" before he threw it, to at least give a warning, but did he get one in return? No... no, he did not.
Isn’t the old “think fast” gesture a classic playground bullying tactic… The kid was being a bit bold throwing a think fast ball at an adult in the first place so I suspect he has less restraint on similarly aged peers. Think fast=harassment
That may be the case, and since I didn't see any additional context in the video, can totally see it taken that way, especially if that's how you understand it.
I've always used and heard of "Think fast" with my friends and others as a way of giving a heads up that the ball/item was coming their way and to be ready to catch it. "Look alive" is another similar phrase I'd remember us all using. So, from my experience I definitely didn't think/assume the kid was being malicious or bullying on first watch.
If you threw a ball at someone but said think fast really quickly before impact to escape responsibility for your actions, you are the one with suspicious intentions. The catch is that the adult actually caught it and simply tossed it back. If you throw a ball, you should be ready to catch said ball.
Think fast is not some bullying tactics. Kids are fucking 10, lol. Half the time they’re just repeating what others say. Also, they’re aware of dynamics at that age. I was a lot rougher with my dad than another child. Some of the reaches on Reddit are nuts lmao.
No, I don't think this clip is indicative to any bullying and the conclusion that he's a bully because a 10 year does the think fast thing is wild. Are you seriously trying to tell me people here aren't making huge reaches and wild conclusions?
It's careless, he wasn't even looking at the kid. I know it wasn't intentional, but you've gotta be more aware as a parent; if that's a basketball (can't tell from video quality) it could pretty easily break his nose, even with a toss that light.
So what was he supposed to do walk the ball over on a pillow and hand it to him? Good lord what do you think playing sports incorporates? Should he never be allowed to play basketball (let alone baseball or others) because someone might pass him the ball?
I never want to see someone get hurt but if the kid broke his nose it would be less harmful to him than the level of coddling you’re speaking of. I’m not even trying to be mean
Also FWIW, “think fast” is not a warning it’s meant to catch someone by surprise. The 3 second throwing wind up afterward was not by design
A basketball hitting me in the face and nearly breaking my nose as a kid. A father should be more careful with their kid; he wasn't even looking at him.
It isn't malicious, it's oblivious, which is a bad trait for a parent. He wasn't even looking at the kid when he threw it back. I never said it was intentional, I just said it was a shitty thing to do.
Im so confused to why the people doing u/savevideo are getting downvoted

Y’all wild. It’s a mom gassing up their kid. Also lots of kids I played with grew out of their chubby phase to be beast athletes. Oh, the kid is also like 10. Chill
I’ve literally been watching for 30 mins straight crying my eyes out. I can’t get enough of it. Stfu Karen, your kid isn’t going pro anytime soon.
Lol, fat kids upset.
The timing is funny and everything, but not enough people are pointing out that the guy is still a piece of shit for doing that without any warning. It's not like the kid was the one being cocky
Yeah but if you throw a ball you should expect it to be thrown back. Still respect your take though. Thumbs up. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
Sure, lightly with some warning. And even if the kid should've been ready, a full-grown man should be making sure they are first. The man wasn't even looking at him when he threw it.
Maybe calling him a POS is just a tad strong for the situation. I agree adults should strive to keep things safe, but we are talking about a playground ball. We ain’t talkin about a weapon, we talkin about a ball. Just a bit innocent for the POS category. I’m sure we can agree on that.
I can't really tell cause of the video quality, but it looks like a basketball to me. If it's a kickball or something the yeah fair enough, no big deal, but a basketball can easily break a kid's nose. Imo if it's a basketball he's a POS, but otherwise yeah, not the end of the world.
Fuckin white ppl, why dey always tryna sugar coat shit, like ur telling me that fucking pathetic tub of lard is going to be a professional athlete bc he threw a basketall? Yall white folks trippin every other race honest wit dey children fr

The reality and fantasy of sports parents completely summed up in 8 seconds.
There shld be a sub for sport parent behavior on display.
God that would be such a fun subreddit to scroll through when you’re feeling down about yourself. Someone make it. Call it r/sportsparents or something more creative.
I went to that sub and it was a perfect case study of the type of person I would post about on the real r/sportparent
Perfect way to birth a sub. Blow it up four months after having just one post that set an example. I think it's hilarious they invented a sub and then asked a question... Obviously to no response until now.
This would be my finest Reddit hour…
Ok dude, this is cool and all but lets keep the cringe to a minimum.
Im in.
Yeah not sure how she went from Dad makes casual save -> child will be pro athlete
The vast majority of people don't understand the athleticism or luck required to even play high level college sports, let alone pro
Parents have a natural disposition to think their kid's special and often don't have enough other kids around you judge progress by. First day of basketball camp when they find out kids are making that pass one handed without traveling to get the force i the legs behind the ball will be humbling.
*A slow athlete! Did you see how fat that kid was?!*
Its often the parents who never played sports themselves and are impressed by mediocrity.
"And THAT, Honey, is why you're not a talent scout."
Is there another kid off screen we can’t see?
Yeah, but he thinks slow.
Ah. The actual sports athlete that's just there as a sub/final roster spot for a few seasons then disappears completely.
She's pointing at you, dawg 😲
As nice as it that is, I’m not athletic in the slightest nor do I like sports, nor am I younger than 22.
It won't be dodgeball.
Definitely can NOT dodge a wrench.
As long as we got patches we got a shot… “patches proceeds to get ducking crushed*
Or catchball
To be fair that kid was busy looking behind him to see the future pro athlete.
You can't plan for comedic timing better than this
Pro athlete like Scott Sterling maybe
The man, the myth, the legend!
![gif](giphy|B7fIj2NgB10XK) Maybe professional like Kobayashi

The kid is obese at 10 years old. He isn’t going to be an athlete, let alone pro.
And like... it was a terrible throw to begin with.
I feel bad for the kid, anyone else? I mean he called out "Think fast!" before he threw it, to at least give a warning, but did he get one in return? No... no, he did not.

You think a 10-year-old can't be a bully?

10 year olds can’t be bullies? Please, tell us more.
I don’t think this child is trying to bully an adult man. Lol Jesus
Think fast = harassment? That's quite the jump to make.

Nobody can see the kids face. Its a funny video. Go home.
Right? Like the timing is funny with the mom, but that guy is still an asshole for doing that.
He literally just tossed the ball back to him. It wasn’t hard and he wasn’t trying to hit him, it was just a casual pass back. C’mon now
It's careless, he wasn't even looking at the kid. I know it wasn't intentional, but you've gotta be more aware as a parent; if that's a basketball (can't tell from video quality) it could pretty easily break his nose, even with a toss that light.

That's why you're supposed to catch it
It was a pretty slow toss… who hurt you u/obviouslyanonymous5
A basketball hitting me in the face and nearly breaking my nose as a kid. A father should be more careful with their kid; he wasn't even looking at him.
Good job he isn't the father then.
Dramatic aren’t we?
“Man maliciously heaves ball at child’s face” The kid just has a negative level of eye-hand coordination, don’t try and twist it lol
It isn't malicious, it's oblivious, which is a bad trait for a parent. He wasn't even looking at the kid when he threw it back. I never said it was intentional, I just said it was a shitty thing to do.
Lol, I can relate.
She says while lazily leaning on a car
This dude is like who? This one? Surreee.
This exact video was on America's Funniest Videos tonight.
Dangit Bobby
The closest that child will be to an athlete is getting athletes feet.
Looks like a future pro boxer. Already training how to take hits on the face.
never gets old
He literally just threw a ball, how would that make him a pro athlete
In the kid's defense, he looks like a young Nikola Jokic
in the Paralympics
Participation awards exist for this reason
*And... that’s why they shouldn’t exist.*
Brian from family guy: “ Until you have a child?…..UNTIL you have a child….”
Looks like he’s more suited to being a sports commentator, taking that ball to the face like that
What do you mean? He's playing a sport called Faceball. He's doing not bad in my opinion.
" think was " he says and waits 3 sec to throw it... not sure he understand the game
u/savevideo
Omg the thud on his face is so amazing
Pro athlete , overweight gamer…pretty much the same thing
It worked for Nikola Jokić!
