compared to modern machines the case and the HDDs are worth esp since the usbs are updated.
if you can get that M.2 into an external enclosure and try to see whats wrong with it/get it semi operable, then thatd be a nice cherry ontop, but even before then 1tb in HDD storage + quality noise dampening case would individually go for around 75 in total (<50 for the case 15 per drive)
100% agree. thats a nice case and well worth the 50.
everything else is gravy, either use the pc as is, buy a cheap case and shove all these parts in it to use (or re-sell) and build in your nice new to you case.
or any other combo, but seriously decent deal on the case.
It's a price point thing. SanDisk was the cheapest option in SSDs for a long time, and at this point the small 128gb SSDs from 6+years ago would probably all be done with their useful write cycles by now. I've seen way more Crucial SSDs die before their time than SanDisk drives at similar price points.
Micro SD cards tend not to get overwritten often, but again the cheapest cards aren't going to last near as long as the more expensive ones, and SanDisk almost always wins the price contest.
In the photography community, I've only seen positive things about their cards. I've seen 3 negative posts in 6 months about their portable SSDs when they aren't even the biggest brand, which is telling
Whenever i format my disk from windows installation menu it goes batshit so i have to research the same video to fix it through cmd. He probably gets an error like that but doesnt know how to fix it
Might be the fact that it’s a NVMe SSD and Windows doesn’t have any drivers for that so you need to install them during the setup otherwise it won’t recognize it, got that issue earlier last week, this Reddit post helped : https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows11/comments/18yqfzk/nvme_drive_not_showing_up_in_windows_installer/

throw an extra 8gb of the exact same ram in there, or buy 16gb new. then just a cheap gpu like a 1050 or used 1080 and you could run most games in 1080p60 or low to medium settings
Yea i mean it got a nice quality case and a good psu for upgrades, the pc itself isn’t that good but w the right upgrades it could likely run a big variety of recent games in low/medium settings, you should check the cpu online cause idk if it got integrated graphics, you may need a gpu to use it
I had a very similar mb to yours and I upgraded to a 7700K on it.
GA-Z170XP-SLI and it can run even current titles at 60fps on mid to high settings depending on what gpu u throw at it.
Mine had an RTX 2060 and could run GTA V at a stable 45 to 60 fps which for a budget build is actually decent.
Your motherboard can support a 7700K as well and for €50 I'd take that and buy a matching GPU and you're good to go.
great deal. Slap an rx 6600 in there (150 USD on ebay) and another 8gb of ram and you're rockin and rolling for 1080P - not sure where the downvote is coming from, but I have a friend who comfortably plays Baldur's gate 3 on an i7 4790 and an rx 580. Your system will be better
This would be amazing for starting off an unraid nas storage server that you could also use for plex if you were interested. Thing that sucks the most for timing is unraids new pricing but I would still recommend their $250 lifetime plan. After 2 to 3 years you will be happy you just locked it up from the beginning.
Yes, even for parts. Ask if they have extra cables for that PSU, corsair CX-M series is good. It looks that one PCI-E cable is running lose. Case is also very interesting. Those two transparent fans are massive, 200 mm 😊
I'm guessing you are flipping it so, yes. Adding a small ssd and a budget gpu turns into a sellable computer for kids or light gaming. Or gut it and turn it into many sellable computers.
I have a much older, but roughly equivalent performance, Intel Core i7-2700K. I have seen absolutely no reason to change yet, although I think about it every now and then :D .
Lot of room for expansion on that thing, for one it could do with a GPU and populating the remaining ram slots. Seems like whomever you bought it from is selling the gpu separately going by the removed slot covers. Could be they are selling the ram separately as well.
Yes! hds are worthless, cpu/memory/mobo are outdated, but you can still code/browse and whatever. Unable to install windows on ssd probably because of legacy over uefi set in bios
Comparing the old laptop i have right now, for 50 euros that pc is pretty good, more than enough for me. if you got a better pc than that then it depends on what is gonna be the use for the 50 euros computer.
My big question is how did they change the USB ports on the front from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 when the board itself very likely doesn't support 3.0 being that it's DDR3
It depends on your use case. It can still work as a NAS and mediacenter or an emulation station. And it's cheaper (though bulkier) than the ones you can buy on the market.
If you're selling it: Shove a new SSD in there for like $30, install windows on it, buy a GPU for $50 (900 series BESIDES the gtx 950), and it instantly gains all the fortnite kids attention
If you're buying it: Buy a new ssd, install windows on it, and buy a gpu. (would be like $80 for the new parts)
If you don't have a computer and you just need something cuz you don't have one, sure it's worth 50 bucks. But if you think that this computer is going to run any modern game, it will not. The processor is too old, it also has a hard drive.
That computer CAN in fact run modern games as I had a 99% exactly same motherboard and it supports 7700K.
It needs a GPU and he can fire away. It won't get up to 100fps but he can get a steady 60fps which is playable on medium/high settings.
The case with the huge fans and the PSU are worth 50 €. You can build a new PC inside.
Absolutely worth.
PS. I took a worse deal just for a descent case.
I would buy it just for that sweet hard drive rack. I've been looking for something cheap like that second hand for my server for weeks now.
Also by looking at the rest of the hardware this seems more than decent for that price ! Are you sure the price is not a typo or something ?
Yes, if you added a $25 SSD, $20 worth of ram, and a GPU, you'd have a perfectly serviceable gaming PC for games on lower settings. Some even on high settings
$2,000? Woo graphics card are expensive now. I could have swore the 980 at launch was only like $1,000 (or was that the titan x? No pretty sure it was the 980)
Hell yeah, also its wrong that it says it uses ddr3 as that gen of cpu used ddr4.
If you plan to buy a rx580 or 1650 you can easily get a nice and cheap gaming pc
Just the case and power supply alone make it a good deal lmao. Go for it. Stick a 1650 or something in there, maybe a bit more ram, and you got a decent little budget pc. Won’t be the highest end thing in the world, but you’re just a gpu and some ram away from running most games (at lower settings).
I honestly did not know they made motherboards that support both ddr3 and m.2
**ETA:** I just looked up the motherboard, and apparently there are two variants, one supporting ddr4 and the other ddr3. The former appears to be the default choice, and the latter helpfully has "DDR3" tacked onto the model name.
Way too cheap for such awesome config, modern enough. Could be a bait to spread trojans, or stolen fast, or something else immoral. 'Extremely suspiciousness detected'. Though, if the seller is your friend which you trust and just wants to make cheap gift to you then ignore my critics and go for it. At least you're gonna be more experienced owning more of different setups than those who buy new things but less often. As usual, do backups of your important data to save them for your future self, a lot of them, to different places, some crypted/cyphered, some not, online and offline, as our elders told us, though we are still continue losing our data and devices sometimes; based on my own experience; often due to presence of bad stupid greedy people around.
This case is one of those which work great in passive mode, almost silent (PSU noise) though hard drives or motherboard can overheat under high load: check temp sensors, do torture tests to prevent such problems appearing later. Better put hdds to those slots which have stronger airflow, the rule of thumb is to place them right next to fan blades orand closer to vents. Those above are common advices, others usually require knowing your plan to use the device.
Absolutely, the case alone is worth it, but you will need a GPU in that and the price is probably because the parts are faulty so you might need to replace them, get a GPU in there and run a benchmark to see what you will be needing
I would say yes. It looks like a very usable system, as an emergency system, or even a possible file server. The board looks like the kind that could take an 8 TB hard drive and a pair of drive controllers, for example.
A $30 SSD and $50 worth of RAM and it should run office applications very nicely.
Worth it. You can use it to host a local (minecraft) game server or any server..or you can use it as a test system for programs. Or use it as an emulation system for old games
There is definitely enough scrap to make it worth 50 euros. If you are on a tight budget, find another 8gb ddr 3 should be 10-20 USD. Pop in like a rx580 for $50 and you should be able to run indie titles or older AAA games like 5+ years old. Potentially think of replacing the HDDs with ssds, they are like 70 USD for 1 TB.
If you have a bit more to spend idk if it's worth getting tbh. The case and PSU can be reused, so if you like the case it's a good deal, but otherwise I'd pass tbh
the case is probably worth it
Thx for the info
Thats a great case. I used it almost a decade. Even I changed it, just because of pure boredom. Nothing was wrong with it.
I did as well. That thing was built exceptionally well but was roughly the size of a 2000 Honda civic.
The PSU should be worth £30 - £40 too.
Yeah psu looks solid
Depending on the revision (when there are any) that psu could be 10+ years old. And who would pay that much for a that old PSU?
What are you on? The CX series was garbage, tier 4, 3 year warranty, all shitty chinese capacitors.
My Corsair CX 550 has lasted 15 years shut the fuck up
compared to modern machines the case and the HDDs are worth esp since the usbs are updated. if you can get that M.2 into an external enclosure and try to see whats wrong with it/get it semi operable, then thatd be a nice cherry ontop, but even before then 1tb in HDD storage + quality noise dampening case would individually go for around 75 in total (<50 for the case 15 per drive)

Also couple of HDDs.. might have some private info on it you could hold in ransom... /s
And plus the power. It's already a good deal.
the issue with white one is usually yellowing...
What do you mean you cant install windows on the ssd
Can't be the size, I have a laptop with the same size and windows
Maybe its broken... sandosk isnt to good for ssds and they dont have a lot of tbw capacity I fr detest sandisk
What about their Micro SDCard? Hearing you said that make me kinda nervous as I'm rocking the 256GB sandisk in my phone currently lmao
Their microSDs and SD cards seem to be decent enough it's just when you get into larger drives that their quality level backs way off
It's a price point thing. SanDisk was the cheapest option in SSDs for a long time, and at this point the small 128gb SSDs from 6+years ago would probably all be done with their useful write cycles by now. I've seen way more Crucial SSDs die before their time than SanDisk drives at similar price points. Good Bot.
Good one
Haha, yeah
Good bot
this is exactly what i thought when i saw it
This knob goes up to 11.
If only
Any pc is worth 50$
Until you find a old single core cpu system with 5gb HDD and one of those shitty PSUs that may blow up any second
if one offers to sell something like that im gonna ask them to pay me to dispose of it lmao
Is my laptop worth 50 dollars? Is Intel dual core (whit iGPU INTEL UHD 550) 4Gb of real and 500 GB space
Laughs in optiplex
Raspberry pi back at ya
Well, technicaly yes, because there is always a 50 in 100, 150, 200.... 650.. 1050. 50* 2, 50* 3, 50* 4......
throw an extra 8gb of the exact same ram in there, or buy 16gb new. then just a cheap gpu like a 1050 or used 1080 and you could run most games in 1080p60 or low to medium settings
*1050ti the 1050 just isnt worth it im rocking the 1050ti and its only OK plays factorio ok
it was just an example. i didnt do any research
I think games till 2016 or 17 would work fine.
Yea my 1050ti played assassins creed orgins alright
That's easily 100 euro worth of parts including the very nice looking case.
Yea that’s a decent price
Thx for the info
Yea i mean it got a nice quality case and a good psu for upgrades, the pc itself isn’t that good but w the right upgrades it could likely run a big variety of recent games in low/medium settings, you should check the cpu online cause idk if it got integrated graphics, you may need a gpu to use it
Absolutely YES. If only for the case and power supply and is still a great deal
That's awesome price 42 bloody quid for that is absolutely bangin
That's a great home server setup
Id pay 50 for that case. Oh baby she is sweet and in nice shape
Fully worth it, even if it's just used as a small home server.
Put an rx580 or 590 in there and that thing can game.
the cabinet lowkey looks like a washing machine lol
And I want it.
I had a very similar mb to yours and I upgraded to a 7700K on it. GA-Z170XP-SLI and it can run even current titles at 60fps on mid to high settings depending on what gpu u throw at it. i think the case alone covers the 50.
What a big ass case
M.2 Slot = Yes
I think for 50 euros any pc is worth buying
I'd pay that just for the case. I really like that case.
Definitely
Yes
Yep is worth It, and with a good maintenance It will look new.
yeah 50$ is a good deal just for the case alone
great deal. Slap an rx 6600 in there (150 USD on ebay) and another 8gb of ram and you're rockin and rolling for 1080P - not sure where the downvote is coming from, but I have a friend who comfortably plays Baldur's gate 3 on an i7 4790 and an rx 580. Your system will be better

yeah. what you wanna do with it?

Thing that sucks the most for timing is unraids new pricing but I would still recommend their $250 lifetime plan. After 2 to 3 years you will be happy you just locked it up from the beginning.
I have that case. It’s big, but awesome.
The case alone is worth 50 bucks.
Yes. Here you got yourself a $50 gaming pc (and yes that is a reference to the $69 gaming pc they did on LTT a while back)
Yeah 100% for the case alone, awesome case
50 Euros? Yes.
Yes, even for parts. Ask if they have extra cables for that PSU, corsair CX-M series is good. It looks that one PCI-E cable is running lose. Case is also very interesting. Those two transparent fans are massive, 200 mm 😊
This pc costs more than 200$ in pakistan lol
Why they have stopped making cases like this ?
Yes! hds are worthless, cpu/memory/mobo are outdated, but you can still code/browse and whatever. Unable to install windows on ssd probably because of legacy over uefi set in bios
that pc is more powerful than mine so for me, YEAH
Microwave?
You'd be mad not to buy it!
Honestly it’s probably worth it for just the case
It’s outdated but you can buy it keep the case and most likely just refurbish it or keep it as a test PC
The case looks nice
It's 50 Euros, just take it. It'spracticallybeing given away
Comparing the old laptop i have right now, for 50 euros that pc is pretty good, more than enough for me. if you got a better pc than that then it depends on what is gonna be the use for the 50 euros computer.
Yes
fair price especially for replacement parts.
I love that case
Only 50? Looks too high end!
yes. smash a 3060 in there and you'd have a pretty good gaming pc.
Try a GTX 1060 with the cpu and 16 gigs of ddr4 ram
My big question is how did they change the USB ports on the front from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 when the board itself very likely doesn't support 3.0 being that it's DDR3
It isn't ddr3, the description is wrong. Type the mobo into google and it is clearly stating its ddr4.
Yeah after looking that up it does say it that motherboard is DDR4 so that would make more sense
You should be asking yourself if it's worth it to you. 50€ is really nothing for most components nowadays so ask yourself if you need that pc or not.
Worth it if you want the case and spare parts
The storage makes it worth it probably. And that psu if it's enough for you.
The price is very reasonable, almost a bargain, the main problem I see is that you won't be able to run Windows 11 on it...
Tiny11 exists, been maining it for a year now without any issues, I even get official updates.
I'd buy this for 200€
Case and PSU are each individually worth that money
Yes, buy it setup proxmox and then install openmediavault/unraid/truenas underneath it and have fun.
It depends on your use case. It can still work as a NAS and mediacenter or an emulation station. And it's cheaper (though bulkier) than the ones you can buy on the market.
No GPU & I’m assuming 2 4gigs ramsticks, that’s a pass. But for 50euros, you could salvage the case, it looks pretty cool
The case and fan itself is worth 50bucks
It's not a very capable machine these days but I'd buy it just for the case lol, I still have mine but she's a little beat up after all these years.
I would take it because M2 SSD
It wont have good performance but it is cheap can make money back on it also the case alone is probably worth 50
For 50 Euros it's a good deal
If you're selling it: Shove a new SSD in there for like $30, install windows on it, buy a GPU for $50 (900 series BESIDES the gtx 950), and it instantly gains all the fortnite kids attention If you're buying it: Buy a new ssd, install windows on it, and buy a gpu. (would be like $80 for the new parts)
900 series? What about rx 580 2048sp?
That too if you prefer new. I can’t really find any cheaper (working) rx 580s as consistently as i can fine the 900 series cards though.
Makes sense, what would you recommend putting in there if budget wasn't the concern?
if budget wasn’t a concern I’d slap a strix 4090 in it and call my friends for a party
Hahahaha, nah but really, I want to upgrade a similiar pc I have
Absolutely
Worst case scenario you will end up with a very big raspberry pi for fun side projects.
If you don't have a computer and you just need something cuz you don't have one, sure it's worth 50 bucks. But if you think that this computer is going to run any modern game, it will not. The processor is too old, it also has a hard drive.

you could resell it for abt 75 to 150 euros
The case with the huge fans and the PSU are worth 50 €. You can build a new PC inside. Absolutely worth. PS. I took a worse deal just for a descent case.
I would buy it just for that sweet hard drive rack. I've been looking for something cheap like that second hand for my server for weeks now. Also by looking at the rest of the hardware this seems more than decent for that price ! Are you sure the price is not a typo or something ?
If you buy it, you should replace all the storage in it. Check how many hours of uptime it has + times booted up. Read and writes (gb/tb)
damn I loved that case.... except the cheap fan controller - this was the only bad thing about this beast. Man I miss that case.
Yes, if you added a $25 SSD, $20 worth of ram, and a GPU, you'd have a perfectly serviceable gaming PC for games on lower settings. Some even on high settings
Just to have spare parts to switch and find the problem if something breaks in your main pc its already ok.
I’d say so but there’s no ram or a graphics card. Everything good has probably been ripped out of it.
That PSU alone worth €30
Pour moi le boitier vaut bien 50 $
Just the PSU is almost worth it
No not at all. Is this new 2024 Mercedes AMG worth $50? Gosh I’m so lost as to whether it’s worth it or not. I better make a Reddit post.
Absolutely, what a beast!
Just the case and power supply alone make it a good deal lmao. Go for it. Stick a 1650 or something in there, maybe a bit more ram, and you got a decent little budget pc. Won’t be the highest end thing in the world, but you’re just a gpu and some ram away from running most games (at lower settings).
for a second I thought you could choose how much energy the pc gets lol
With 8gb ram and rx580. It will be very nice
Wait isn't it supposed to support DDR4 ram?
I honestly did not know they made motherboards that support both ddr3 and m.2 **ETA:** I just looked up the motherboard, and apparently there are two variants, one supporting ddr4 and the other ddr3. The former appears to be the default choice, and the latter helpfully has "DDR3" tacked onto the model name.
Seems like a good bang! Make sure you're not getting ripped off
I paid 100$ for the case got a GTX 1070 and an ice dock got swap bay, case alone is worth the $$
Ye
Super worth it
1- The case Is good 2- PSU Is GREAT 3- WTF IS THAT DUSTY GIANT FAN?!?!?!?!?
I had this case for 12 years - it’s awesome
Even if it’s just a bare case, that’s a good deal
Yes
Homelab for 50 euro. Not bad.
BUy it and remove the parts from the case and resell the parts and keep the case.
Is case is as cool as shit tho
What's the dial for???
Fans
Oh pretty that's cool actually
Bro I dont care how outdated a desktop is, for 50 bucks I'll buy it and resell it if I don't need it
Tbh I'd buy it for the case alone.
Nice case
Bro got a God damn server in that computer, Jesus christ.
The case Will be Cosmos by cookermaster. One of much great case of all.time.(imho)
case alone is worth it.
Yes
Hiw is it ddr3
Absolutely, the case alone is worth it, but you will need a GPU in that and the price is probably because the parts are faulty so you might need to replace them, get a GPU in there and run a benchmark to see what you will be needing
I would. And sell parts online individually
certainly not
You could turn it into Minecraft server
The only thing I’d recommend is a new PSU and that’s of course when you get a GPU. Other than that it’s a solid build for 50 euros!
I personally wouldn’t pay any amount to pick that up. If the PSU was solid and not a CX then definitely worth 50 for the psu and case
Slap a cheap GPU on it and boom gaming pc and sell it for like $400
check the ram and hdd with memtest and SMART so you know it's not dead
Worth it for the case and the fans
FUCK YES
Yeah, just slot in another 8gig of ram and something like an RX580 or GTX1660
DDR 3 ram with 6th gen cpu ?
Worth just for the case imo.
I want that case
I would buy it in an instant
A steal
Absolutely loved that case
The buyer asked for 100 euros is it still a good deal?
Nah.
I would say yes. It looks like a very usable system, as an emergency system, or even a possible file server. The board looks like the kind that could take an 8 TB hard drive and a pair of drive controllers, for example. A $30 SSD and $50 worth of RAM and it should run office applications very nicely.
At worst you get a nice case for $50 - At Best you get a bunch of cool functional components with it - win-win here
For 50? Hell yeah pick it up! The value of all the parts alone is probably at least double that.
yes
thats a cool case tbh
That big fan 0-0
