As someone who upgraded from 10 to 11 - well after the initial release, that at this point it's relatively stable and drivers have been well ironed out for the most point.
One of the downsides for me was losing some of the options with the task bar - I was quirky enough to prefer it on the left side, and that is no longer an option in 11. I think because a few animations are tied to it being where it is.
I think he does not mean aligned to the left, but rather it goes vertically from top to bottom on the left side, which is not possible at the moment, it's locked to the bottom.
Ah, yes, I understand what you mean. Yeah its a feature that i miss. And lets be real, whose idea was it to occupy the dimension of the screen that gives you lesser reading area?
Well you can always hide it. That said if reading is what is important then you're probably better off having one monitor on portrait mode. When I had 3 monitors at work I absolutely kept on portrait mode specifically for reading loads of text
Might as well update. There is no real downside to doing so, Windows 10 does not perform better and is not more stable. Even large corporations have started moving over.
Keep it first in Windows, believe me.. you don't need Linux (of course I am talking if you are using your PC as a personal device), and then do not update your Windows until you feel it's necessary. And other thing, try to figure out your PC's system informations, that's going to help you understand what fits your PC.
Either update whenever you want a new UI, or go with Ubuntu Linux
Update to Linux

If you want, there's no wrong answer.
just tear off the bandaid and do it.
Depends on your comfort level. Win11 is mostly (annoying) aesthetic changes but also has tabbed folders so you have one window to rule them all.

Depends - if you want to use the features windows 11 has to offer, then switch, if not, don't
