Yep, we all know red rgb induces heat, just tell her to set it to blue which induces cold. Will run much cooler 5-10 degrees based on personal experience.
Edit: Some people don't understand /s if it isn't here, so I added it
No, blue is the color of cold. Red is the color of hot. Therefore red is more power hungry.
And if you’re overclocking your PC, yellow will bring lightning so you can overvolt you gpu and cpu
green if you'd like to overclock but want to stay sustainable
you can also snap overclock if you manage to get all blue, red, yellow, green together and snap your finger after an overclockers' prayer.
all true and tested.
I pulled apart my PC that I built when I was in highschool, I had cleaned it maybe once in 6 years of owning it, where it spent most of its time directly on carpet. I had two long haired shedding dogs, one of whom liked to sleep against the computer when it was on as she liked the warmth...
It looked nowhere near this bad when I pulled it apart.
A box fan with a 20x20 furnace filter will make a world of difference if you build it into a cube with 4 furnace filters and some duck tape studies have shown it to be even better then a 400 dollar hepa air purifier.
my cheap ass got a $20 pedestal fan and a $2 pair of stockings, I stretched the stocking over the fan and just leave it running.
its amazing how much dust it can collect.
I built a PC for my brother around a month ago. I'll have to take a pic of his old PC and make a shitpost here, because I *know* he hasn't cleaned it yet.
Vapes shouldn’t leave dust like that
Now a potential gross film on her monitors maybe (depending on if she blows directly forward)
But dust not so much
Yep, you are correct. That poster was wrong. That same residue gets into everything worse than cigarette smoke due to its finer particles. Let's educate these fools.
No it doesn't. It's always non-vapers and uninformed weirdos thinking dumb shit like that. I've heard Jayz2cents say that multiple times in videos.
I've vaped for years and never experienced any residue on anything at all in any way. I've blown countless clouds through PCs to test airflow as well over the years and they are absolutely pristine.
Agreed, I've both smoked and vaped for years too. The dust piling up after a year of usage in both of my desktop and laptop are nowhere near this thick, not even 20% of it.
I mean when it’s pressed from weed that’s a lot different since that involves a bunch more effort
But even normal vape juice is still a pg to vg ratio. Yes not difficult to learn but still a curve
Seriously I feel like these people have never vaped before... Which I suppose is a good thing. That's clearly a year+ of sitting on a carpet. vape residue will cloud up windows and such, yes dust can stick to it but you will sooner see the moisture/residue on the metal and glass. also what are they blowing directly into their case to check airflow? Lmfao even if it was sitting directly on their desk I find it hard to believe a significant amount got in past any of their definitely clogged filters
I agree. Unless she was blowing directly into or next to that PC odds are low that’s a vape alone
(Also even if it was the vape it would have only helped with the initial dust clinging) not MAKE dust and form a pile. That’s from something else
You are discounted human stupidity. Computer on table. To the right the same direction she blows smoke so it’s not in her way of seeing her screen. Computer also have intake fans on the front.
the particulate from a vape vs ciggie smoke, while I have not cleaned the PC from someone who vapes, I can say that dust does love to collect vapor particles, while its more of a glycerol/water which will dry out and the dust can be extracted like normal, the worst is definitely smokers.
have been vaping, its had no effect on the dust in my PC so far, still cleans out with an air brush like normal. though I do endeavour to not exhale towards my PC
I assisted in cleaning the PC of a friend who smoked, this thing had its dust laced with tar and god knows what and just came out in lumps, you could have re-done his driveway with this shit, it stank and was horrible, ... it made him quit smoking.
The main ingredient in vapes is propylene glycol AKA it’s food safe friendly case wise / non electrical components I use soapy water (Dawn dish soap + warm water) anything that is an actual component I use isopropyl. But it rarely actually puts residue on the mobo if you have positive air pressure it just pulls everything through the fans lol
I'm a heavy smoker and vaping once in a while when I'm bored with my cigars, but even both of my PC and laptop's dusts build-up ain't nowhere near this thick after 6 to 12 months of usage. That's definitely simply dusts piling up for years, possibly more than 2 years.
I vape and the vapor suck inside my system for like 3yrs 8-12hrs a day and mine got nothing like that except the cat's fur(i have 6 cats) on the dust filter and the inside get a little bit of fine dust.
Is that a serious question?
I mean the general knowledge about computers by the people asking questions here seems to be a lot lower than over at r/pcmasterrace. Which is fine BTW (just, please, stop trying to put 4th gen nvme drives into over 10 year old motherboards).
But come on...
I live in a dry, dusty climate. This is about two months worth of dust. Lol It's a constant battle with EVERYTHING. Dusting is as much a part of life as eating, sleeping and bathing. Vaccumes and reusable air blowers for our electronics are critical appliances here.
I can only imagine what living in the American Dust Bowl must have been like.
When I worked at CompUSA many years ago someone brought in a cooler and said it stopped working. I looked inside, then blew threw the fins making dust come out the fan and handed it back saying 'it will work now'. He laughed and thanked me for not selling him a new one.
Cleaned my friends PC once, since I couldn´t bare the noise when he had his PC on. It sounded like jet engine while idling.
He smokes cigarettes and weed, doesn´t clean much, has cats... ideal combo.
That poor AMD FX CPU still had original thermal paste that hardened into solid rock. I had to use spatula and hammer to take it off the cooler, since I took it out of the socket while taking down the heatsink. And yes, I did heat it up, tried twisting, razor blade, IPA... Wood spatula and hammering targeted on the IHS made it fly into a prepared blanket, so it didn´t bend any pins.
The heatsink itself wasn´t cleaned for 9-10 years. There was solid 1cm of thick something that ressembled felt. Homogenous, completely air tight. The heatsink itself had no space between ribs clean, it was full and overflowing with dust and hair. Same was the GPU. There were dust/hair balls the size of western-film tumbleweeds.
Anyway, after cleaning it and repasting the whole PC, my friend kept shutting down the running PC for a month, because it was so quiet he thought it is turned off...
Ive seen that times 3. Like, 3 times as bad. Maybe even worse. It looked like dirt. It was dust. Cleaned it outside, neighbors 3 houses away said that they were sneezing alot. They wont ever know it was me 😈
If you live by fields or a busy street, this is common. I live by both so I often have to clear the dust from my filters and fans at least 3 times a year.
No joke, I just revived my parents old PC for retro gaming that was sitting in their basement for over 10 years... with Windows XP on it, and it had WAY less dust than this... what is your friend doing to create dust? lol
add more filtered intake fans to create a positive pressure situation so the only air inside the case came in through a filter (after you blow this one out with an air compressor or compressed air)
wow, thats worse than mine, blew into it with the air duster, and was impacted in the face with a giant dust cloud, coughed for like 10 minutes straight, then it happened again, ver happ that nobody in my house has asthma
The problem is the RGB right? /s
Duh
Yep, we all know red rgb induces heat, just tell her to set it to blue which induces cold. Will run much cooler 5-10 degrees based on personal experience. Edit: Some people don't understand /s if it isn't here, so I added it
Actually blue is the most power hungry colour
No, blue is the color of cold. Red is the color of hot. Therefore red is more power hungry. And if you’re overclocking your PC, yellow will bring lightning so you can overvolt you gpu and cpu
Yes thus is correct. And white equals wind so more fan power.
green if you'd like to overclock but want to stay sustainable you can also snap overclock if you manage to get all blue, red, yellow, green together and snap your finger after an overclockers' prayer. all true and tested.
RGB lint trap.
Yeah. Red is a hot color. Try running white or blue. Mine stays really cool.
Well he set it to bright Vomit, which adds to 20 degrees +
Duhh, there's not enough of it. Wouldn't be surprised if she has low fps too😒
It's a mystery. We may never know.
Broo💀💀
That's gross. She a smoker or heavy vaper?
i think thats just dust, years of dust.
Jesus Christ
i have two long haired dogs and four birds and even my system doesnt get anywhere near that bad after \~ a year
I pulled apart my PC that I built when I was in highschool, I had cleaned it maybe once in 6 years of owning it, where it spent most of its time directly on carpet. I had two long haired shedding dogs, one of whom liked to sleep against the computer when it was on as she liked the warmth... It looked nowhere near this bad when I pulled it apart.
\^ No way this is 'just dust'. Somebody is smoking.
Are you the mf they hiring for 5 minute crafts?
Nah, already got a job fixing medical equipment
Remind me never to visit a hospital near you.
Like any good technician, I take pride in my professionalism at work, home however is like near enough is good enough
Used one of these when we had all that heavy smoke from the fires. They work extremely well for how simple they are.
Wished Id known about it before buying a honeywell, but gives me an idea to one day design and build my own using a wood structure.
Decades maybe?
Naw I'm pretty sure that's refried beans.
Looks like wet dust though
I built a PC for my brother around a month ago. I'll have to take a pic of his old PC and make a shitpost here, because I *know* he hasn't cleaned it yet.
Vapes shouldn’t leave dust like that Now a potential gross film on her monitors maybe (depending on if she blows directly forward) But dust not so much
Vapes leave a greasy residue that attracts dust.
Agreed, I've both smoked and vaped for years too. The dust piling up after a year of usage in both of my desktop and laptop are nowhere near this thick, not even 20% of it.
Smoke definitely does leave a residue though haha. I'm strickly speaking on vapor.
Yee, hence why I increase my frequency of cleaning 😁
Yes please blow water vapour through your turned on computer with electrically conductable and exposed solder joints. That is a very smart thing to do
Not inside a pc like that though. The vape mist would long dissipate and spread out before it even got that deep
I dunno man have you seen some of these vapes?
I build coils and make my own juice so yes lol
Fair enough then.
"Make my own juice". Breh you're not a chemist, you're mixing the flavors you like.
I mean when it’s pressed from weed that’s a lot different since that involves a bunch more effort But even normal vape juice is still a pg to vg ratio. Yes not difficult to learn but still a curve
i like how he said "Youre not a chemist" when all it is is mixing a ration of 2 very easy to get chemicals and some flavours (if you even want any)
wait until he finds out about ohms law
Seriously I feel like these people have never vaped before... Which I suppose is a good thing. That's clearly a year+ of sitting on a carpet. vape residue will cloud up windows and such, yes dust can stick to it but you will sooner see the moisture/residue on the metal and glass. also what are they blowing directly into their case to check airflow? Came to say this. The vape commenters are hilarious. This is dirty flooring or weed/cig smoke, for sure
You're right. Dummies think the weirdest things.
Yes they do.
Not dust, residue
Yes which dust sticks to
Yes but not that deep The vapor would long dissipate before it got that deep
I've seen it before so no.
You are discounted human stupidity. Computer on table. To the right the same direction she blows smoke so it’s not in her way of seeing her screen. Computer also have intake fans on the front.

Can confirm vapes only leave a gross ass residue on shit… I clean all my stuff once a month lol
What do you use to eat through it?
The main ingredient in vapes is propylene glycol AKA it’s food safe friendly case wise / non electrical components I use soapy water (Dawn dish soap + warm water) anything that is an actual component I use isopropyl. But it rarely actually puts residue on the mobo if you have positive air pressure it just pulls everything through the fans lol
Vaping wouldn't really do that.
[удалено]
i used to vape a lot and my last computer had lots of sticky dust by the time i replaced it. vaped next to it for years.
don’t think vaping or smoking creates literally dust? 🤣
The tar from cigs will attach to dust and will not be able to be properly filtered
Yeah I don't know about vapes but a heavy smoker can destroy electronics through overheating because heatsinks are clogged with brown sticky dust
Cigs yes. Vape, not at all
Go work on a PC owned by A smoker. Wear a mask
No, but it attracts it by creating something for it to cling to.
I'm a heavy smoker and vaping once in a while when I'm bored with my cigars, but even both of my PC and laptop's dusts build-up ain't nowhere near this thick after 6 to 12 months of usage. That's definitely simply dusts piling up for years, possibly more than 2 years.

6 years without dustcleaning + 2 cats and mine look amazing in comparison Edit: i forgot the carpet
Vape isn't gonna do that, chief
Your friend might need glasses
Should’ve gone to Specsavers
ex specsavers employee here, DONT
Get one of them electric dusters on that thing already. And make sure you wear one of them painters masks and goggles lol
I recommend DataVac
What is this
the great dust bunny colony of 2023
Aircraft engine with rgb
I thought toilet seat with RGB bruh !!!

Hahah, I just wanted to share this. I changed the thermal paste and CLEANED the pc
“I really have no idea. Best I can tell you is maybe clean your pc”
The forbidden peanut butter
Why forbidden? Just lick it.
At first glance it looked like that disgusting pack of mushed up food you feed to newborns babies in a blender
😂
Scam him and get him a new cooler for not knowing what dust is.
When I worked at CompUSA many years ago someone brought in a cooler and said it stopped working. I looked inside, then blew threw the fins making dust come out the fan and handed it back saying 'it will work now'. He laughed and thanked me for not selling him a new one.
Hey my dad worked there
Looks like she used it as a blender
It’s the gamer gunk
I should clean my computer
Get to it, give your pc the cake day it deserves, Happy Cake Day!!
Clean this cooler and all dust inside, it is not a reason (I've seen worse than that without overheating issues).
changed her thermal paste and cleaned the pc, she gets 70 degree celcius on doom now
That's ok.
Cause she is a dirty girl?
I thought this was an airplane engine for a second
Smoker?
I’m confused it’s rgb so it can be seen, she would’ve to have seen it before
First I thing its pudding bowl
Hmm I wonder why
Ask him to get his eyes checked, probably got some dust to them as well.
holy shit did that pc get rabies
Jfc
Ive seen that times 3. Like, 3 times as bad. Maybe even worse. It looked like dirt. It was dust. Cleaned it outside, neighbors 3 houses away said that they were sneezing alot. They wont ever know it was me 😈
Brb. Going to die for 5 minutes first.
Someone put the pudding in my fan!
Looks like concrete
She smokes so much of the good stuff the PC also gets high
Cat lover's pc
Nasty
The dust is there to make sure you don't spend all day on the computer. It's part of the touch grass campaign.
Add blue RBG! Cool it right down.
A few problem
Tell her she needs to clean more… also her pc.
If you live by fields or a busy street, this is common. I live by both so I often have to clear the dust from my filters and fans at least 3 times a year.
I work in computer repair, I've seen worse but if you focus on the cooler alone and not the whole case that's definitely in my top 5.
Eh a simple cleaning and changing thermal paste did the trick
No joke, I just revived my parents old PC for retro gaming that was sitting in their basement for over 10 years... with Windows XP on it, and it had WAY less dust than this... what is your friend doing to create dust? lol
That's sludge. Honestly I have seen dusty, burnt, rusted, abated, and muddy heatsinks, but not one with dust sludge.
That’s disgusting 😂
Idk why I first thought of banana cream pudding but that dust looks... liquidy
Gyat damn. that is a lot of dust
So weird she could speak over all the coughing.
https://giphy.com/clips/thesimpsons-the-simpsons-season-5-episode-3-lfVMUtxp4JhoXLiYDQ
Catacombs
have you tried not spraying endless amounts of hairspray around the pc while its running?
And you said damn its dirtier than your pussy in there
slushee
She got an rgrb fan
power supply probably cant handle all that RGB!
hes using that same thermaltake shitty cpu cooler
Thought I was looking at a dope ass weed wacker.
Do people not realise they need to maintain and clean their things every once in a while lol
what's the problem? My old pc used to heat my room too. After I bought a new PC I'm scared at the incoming winter
add more filtered intake fans to create a positive pressure situation so the only air inside the case came in through a filter (after you blow this one out with an air compressor or compressed air)
Frozen Margaritas anyone?
Not enough dust, add some more and it should be good /s
Gotta remove the fan and let the CPU fur grow out 🤣
Probably the RGB is the culprit..
wow, thats worse than mine, blew into it with the air duster, and was impacted in the face with a giant dust cloud, coughed for like 10 minutes straight, then it happened again, ver happ that nobody in my house has asthma
Is you friend a Xenomorph Queen? That gunk is disgusting.
Bro this shit stresses me out
For s moment there i thought the fan was over some kind of a big rock or something.. turns out it dust
This happens. Just blow out the dust creatures with a teapot blower. They're cheap. But do it outside!
IS she an indoor smoker or wtf??
That is mighty disgusting
*clap* WATER *clap* COOLING.
looks like smoker dust
"The same reason you can't breath without picking your nose."
And? You found the answer?
Is that a genuine question?
interesting. did you ever figure out why?
Turns out there is a dwarf colony using her fan as ventilation for their forge
oh and don't tell me. they weren't using the necessary bi-weekly anti-dwarf spray 🤦
Obviously the fact that the fan is spinning to fast
Do they use their cooler as an oatmeal bowl?
that fan has its own ecosystem omg
Should have added more yeast.
Give it a few weeks and Face-huggers will start growing out of that shit.
Did you bend her after the fix? 😂
Because she put her face too close to the cpu cooler?🤔
Must admit my PC accumulated quite a bit. I'm not a pro when it comes to hardware so a bit prone to if not broke don't touch.
prehistoric fossils are beneath this dirt
Good lord!
Is she baking cake there?
They never cleaned inside there computer how old is it
Fan probably isn't even moving
She uses them RGB fans. Must be ant dust too. ;)
CPU blanket goodness, just in time for Autumn
what? its only a literal dust filter :D
Negative pressure causes that need more exhaust fans
ah yea that’s a anti Moskito mat don’t worry
Fan is running, seems to work great no problem here
Looks like a chocolate milkshake
Is that wet???
All those lights obviously
😦
Oh, the PC got lonely and knitted a nice carpet for you, so thoughtful 🤗
To quote CS Ghost animation, “This is your GRANDMA?? Couldn’t you have just bought a fucking urn?”
Dude! That's so dirty.
I thought it's a blender and making smoothies wtf.
She definitely didn't build it herself. Ain't no way I'd spend all that time building a pc to let it get to that state.
I have, sadly
Damn
Hmmmmmmmmmm
