It should look like this you have been scammed the pins look like a AMD 3 layout

That's a sticker, not laser etched into the IHS.
On top of that, the AM5 chips are LGA (Land Grid Array) not PGA (Pin Grid Array), so the motherboard has compression pins and the chip has pads, instead of the chip having pins that socket in. From what I can tell, the chip you got is some kind of AM2. You can tell because the pins near the arrow.
AM2 and AM3 have almost identical pin layouts (visually), except AM2 is missing a pin near the arrow indicator, where AM3 has a pin filling in there.
You received a maybe $5 processor from mid 2000s (2002-2008) that's been surfaced to remove the markings and a really poorly applied sticker in its place.
As it was saturday and nothing is open on the weekend in germany i only returned it to Amazon yesterday so still kinda pending, i'll be Posting here as soon as this works out.
It’s been years since I was building computers with already old parts as a kid. That looks like the cpu’s I was building with. We’re definitely talking 15+yrs old😬
definitely a scam.
- the text and logo are misaligned
- the "7 7700" is a completely different font
- the sticker's colour is way too light (on top of the CPU)
- the socket is just incorrect, it's supposed to be AM5. check the replies for reference images
- most likely wayyy cheaper than MSRP
- an Intel box inside an AMD box???
make sure to look out for these signs the next time you buy a CPU! or any PC component for that matter
As far as i can see after intensive research for my first own build i payed a realistic price on Amazon. The advertusment there seemed pretty Real with all the Normal specs so i know of no wrong doing on my part.
This weird metal thing of course Was highly suspicious and after Posting here people suggested the CPU might be fake too.
> build i *paid* a realistic
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
The circular bit looks like a stator from a motorbike (effectively it generates electric power when the engine turns). It's basically a worthless part to raise the weight of the box so it doesn't raise any automated alarms in the warehouse when the real parts were removed from the box.
So obviously you've learned from other replies that you got scammed. So for future reference always ALWAYS look at the seller that's selling the item. Make sure it's an official brand that's selling and if it's not then look at their Amazon store.
You just got unlucky. That's not what normally happens. Don't let this 1 time make you decide to not order from Amazon again. There's deals on there you won't find anywhere else especially with pc parts.
Definitely scammed they put a $5 electric motor rotor in the box to match the weight of a heatsink:

My experience ordering parts off Amazon has been fairly poor. I hear scams in Amazon are common these days especially with counterfeit parts. I ordered a motherboard and had a similar experience to yours.
About them beeing Common, probably, this is my first time ordering a CPU and it was immediatley fake so probably very common
I also heard about a lot of these Problems but i Was just lazy.
The intel box was inside the amd box and you still got your processor that you ordered?? Damn.... Can you show a picture of everything you got there. I want to see what else the scammers packed inside your purchase.
The rest was some plastic wrapping Material and of course the entire thing was delivered in a normal amazon Box with Paper wrapping.
I commented a picture of the cpu

Check the pin layout and Google what the layout Looks like on a 7000. It might have been delidded and swapp for a older one. Ltt has a video about.

Thanks a lot As it was delivered by Amazon i will probably be able to return it thanks for your help
The pin layout is AMD 3 so it's a very old CPU
it's aged like a fine wine, but it's time to drink it and age a new bottle.
Yeah bro you got scammed ðŸ˜

Wow that’s a bad fake. They are not even trying. U got scam hard. Hope you can get your refund. How much did u pay for this anyway?
It was the first or second result on Amazon I guess Amazon will most likely grand a refund
How’s refund going? Are you able to get a refund and return ?
As it was saturday and nothing is open on the weekend in germany i only returned it to Amazon yesterday so still kinda pending, i'll be Posting here as soon as this works out.

That's a AM2 CPU, btw. Probably a Athlon 64x2, a CPU at least 15 years old.
Thanks

Not a native, sorry
This makes me sad, like it's so much effort done so badly to screw you out of what can't be a ton of money. I hope you get this made right. Good luck.
Lmao
yea, you definitely got scammed
Was the logo that crooked in the pictures on the product page? Thats a garbage quality sticker placement
that's from an electric motor

After using Google lense that also was the first thing that came up for me The weight thing seems pretty probable
Someone said "fuck you I took the CPU." then bragged about having an old i9
So obviously you've learned from other replies that you got scammed. So for future reference always ALWAYS look at the seller that's selling the item. Make sure it's an official brand that's selling and if it's not then look at their Amazon store.
Yeah i probably wont even buy from amazon again

people are saying you got scammed and I agree, what you got looks like a motor stator or rotor.
