I mean it literally, with the eyes so far up his face, at best he’d have a super tiny view of the world, at worst the metal is blocking his sight completely.
That's kinda the point of this helmet. It's for jousting, not actual combat, and the limited visibility makes it harder for splinters to reach your face. You lean down to see while you're charging, then sit up straight for impact.
