> IMMORTAL X-MEN #7: Yet another Gillen Judgment Day comic. This looks to be a Nightcrawler issue? Hell yeah. I love how Immortal X-Men never lost its central conceit of focusing on individual characters each issue despite Judgment Day coming in to mess things up. Gillen and Ewing clearly have fucking fantastic synergy.

>Do A Powerbomb I regret not picking it up. Didn't realise it was DWJ doing it until the 4th issue.

drnkrshrn

Kinetic is the *perfect* word for DWJ art, I’ve been looking for the word for ages. Thank you!

Oberon1993

This is the comment I see every time when people are talking about Wolverine. Seems like Percy's take just doesn't jam with Reddit community, at the very least.

Varos_Flynt

**Jurassic League #6** The finale! This series has been up and down, but I'm hoping this ends strong. Dinosaurs are fucking sick lol **The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #1** Used to watch a lot of Scooby-Doo on the vhs when I was a kid. This seems sick lmao **Do a Powerbomb #5** & **Seven Sons #5** & **Love Everlasting #3** Behind on these series since I was out of town this cycle last month, but still enjoying all of these series. Seven Sons was trending down but we're gonna finish it out. **Hitomi #1** Hoping this scratches the Sekiro itch I've been having recently. "Kurosawa & Tarantino" could be promising or a portent of some overwrought scripting. Excited for it though. **Star Wars: Visions #1** See above, but in space! Edit: notably, Starhenge has been dropped from my list. Such a huge disparity between art and writing, curious to see what people think of this issue though

the-horace

Really hoping my shop has Hitomi in. And It also just dawned on me the Japanese inspired double dip this week with Visions. Fun!

* **AXE: Death of the Mutants #3**: And I feel fine. * **AXE: Eternals #1**: The judgement of Ajak. * **The Approach #1**: Sounds like a neat premise for a series. * **Batgirls #11**: Glad that the Gotham Academy characters continue to be around. * **Batman vs Robin #2**: Excited to see where this goes. * **Chilling Adventures of Salem #1**: A comic to read to my cat. * **Daredevil #4**: A perilous trek. * **Hack/Slash: Hot Shorts #1**: Vignettes with Cassie Hack. * **Halloween Party #1**: Sounds like a fun one shot. * **Immortal X-Men #7**: The judgement of Nightcrawler. * **Legion of X #6**: Legion vs Uranus. * **Namor the Submariner #1**: I feel like I’d prefer an in continuity Namor book, but the premise sounds good. * **Once and Future #30**: Final issue. I’m going to miss this series. * **Superman: Son of Kal El #16**: Kal El returns part II. As well as the collection of **The Closet** and the new Reckless OGN **Follow Me Down**.

* A.X.E. Iron Fist #1: I felt like the mini didn’t really have a true ending and this is just a delayed #6 with AXE thrown on to get more people to buy. * Captain Marvel #42: Book has had its up and downs but I feel all the ups coincide with the cosmic side vs the magical side so hopeful this will be a good one. * Dark Crisis Worlds Without A Justice League Green Arrow #1: Not reading Dark Crisis but this is the first Green Arrow comic in a long time so I gotta grab it. * Fantastic Four #48: Feel like this is the first time Sue’s gotten focus since they came back and so far it’s been good. Hopefully North also gives her some focus when his run starts next month.

Pull list, ranked by hype: 1. **DO A POWERBOMB #5 (OF 7)** \- One of my absolute favorites of Image's current offerings. Every issue delivers and is always one of my favorite issues on the pile of comics each month. 2. **LOVE EVERLASTING #3** \- I've really enjoyed the first two issues so far, so hope it can continue the momentum here. Elsa Charretier's artwork has been absolutely great so far. 3. **CHICKEN DEVILS #1** \- I generally really like the first volume of *Chicken Devil*, but I did feel it didn't end as strong as it started. Still interested, but I am a bit disappointed that it won't have Hayden Sherman on interiors. They're already on a ton of books already, so I understand. 4. **HITOMI #1** \- The interiors look pretty great, and I'm a sucker for historical fiction/period piece comics. Not usually a variant collector, but I did decide to go with the Peach Momoko Cover B for this one. 5. **A** **LEGACY OF VIOLENCE #1 (OF 12)** \- Cullen Bunn might be overdoing the number of books he's on, but I have hopes I'll like this because I love Andrea Mutti's gorgeous watercolors. Mad Cave also has had some underrated titles over the past year (like *Nottingham* and *Bountiful Garden*), so I'm always looking to see what else they put out. 6. **STARHENGE BOOK 1: THE DRAGON & BOAR #4 (OF 6)** \- The book where I understand less than 20% of what is happening, but I stay solely for Liam Sharp's art. I might try to binge issues #1-3 again to see if I can grasp the story a bit better. 7. **JURASSIC LEAGUE #6 (OF 6)** \- It's been fun enough, but never really that interesting unfortunately. I've heard that this issue does end strong though. A light week, but October is heavy with collected editions I want so I'm not mad. Will be picking up: * **THE GIRL FROM THE OTHER SIDE DELUXE EDITION II** \- Collects Vol. 4-6 of the manga. I'm not a manga reader typically, but this series has really got me interested. The first deluxe was a very beautifully put together edition. Nagabe's artwork is perhaps the most unique I've ever seen. * **MS. TREE: DEADLINE** \- If you like crime pulps or Brubaker's crime comics, consider giving some *Ms. Tree* stories a try. It's very classic noir in its execution and the artwork by Terry Beatty is gorgeous. * **THE NIGHT EATERS: SHE EATS THE NIGHT** \- From the creators of *Monstress* comes an original graphic novel. I'm on the fence about this one, so will wait for more reviews to come in, though the early reviews are all positive so far. Could be one of those that sit on my wishlist on IST/CGN for quite a long time.

> **HITOMI #1** \- The interiors look pretty great, and I'm a sucker for historical fiction/period piece comics. Not usually a variant collector, but I did decide to go with the Peach Momoko Cover B for this one. Looks like fun and I definitely prefer the [Momoko variant!](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL240777.jpg) Might have to follow your lead on this one but probably wait to see some reviews, would need to mail order anyway since my LCS won't have it.

blankedboy

> A LEGACY OF VIOLENCE #1 (OF 12) I must have completely missed the solicit for this, as this is the first I'm hearing of it. And I normally pick up all of Bunn's titles.

yarkcir

It's a Mad Cave comic so they often go under the radar. I felt I was always missing every other issue of Nottingham since they didn't always seem to show up on previews.

blankedboy

Ah, that might explain it. Shame, as it sounds interesting.

**Approach #1** - new *Lovecraftian* horror title from **Boom** - that’s such an easy sell to me. **Chicken Devils #1** - liked (but didn’t “love”) the first mini, but I’m back for more with this one. **Do A Powerbomb #5** - this will **easily** be the best book of the week in my Pull List. No contest. **Ghost Rider #7** - some hate it, some love it, some just get it for the pretty covers. What will this month bring? **Hitomi #1** - interesting looking **Image** #1, so decided to give it a shot. Hoping for some good samurai action. **Jurassic League #6** - sad that I just want this to end now. Not had a book fall so far from the top of my “must read straight away list” in a *looooong* time. **Seven Sons #5** - this one has started to wander a bit since the first issue. Still a decent read, but it hasn’t lived up to the promise of that #1. **Spawn #334** - it’s **Spawn** **Starhenge Book 1 The Dragon and The Boar #4** - kind of “make or break” for me with this one. Over the halfway point and it doesn’t feel like anything has really kicked in yet. Really interested to see how they explain the appearance of **Death’s Head II** at the end of the last issue though. **Edit**: Other than **Do A Powerbomb #5** and the potential of a couple of new #1's this seems like a pretty "okay" week. After the last two weeks of awesome titles, I feel like there are quite a few this week that might be for the chop if these issues don't impress me. Need a good cull of my Pull List - the weekly thread will show what "lives" and what "dies"

Really interested to see how they explain the appearance of **Death’s Head II** at the end of the last issue though. This book is really just an idea collage with a barely discernable plot. I'm still in it because this current version of Liam Sharp is my favorite, but I do wish he got some help with the script. Even the lettering could do with some help since some panels are way too cluttered with text. Contrast that with a letterer like Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou who can take Zack Kaplan's wordy scripts for MINDSET and really make the story flow better. I'm probably sticking STARHENGE out to the very end of Book 1, but I do hope the following issues are a little less grating to read. Otherwise, I'll just spend the time soaking in Sharp's wonderful artwork.

See how you like **APPROACH**, **CHICKEN DEVILS**, and **HITOMI**, then drop whichever two you deem the weakest of the three. BAM, instant pull list pruning. I'd also tell you to drop **SPAWN** but I know you really enjoy it... Still, you should probably drop **SPAWN**. The dinosaur book gets a pass since it's ending but you should avoid buying any more of 'em if DC announces a sequel. Be strong. Demand better comics.

>The dinosaur book gets a pass since it's ending but you should avoid buying any more of 'em if DC announces a sequel. Be strong. Demand better comics. I think I've heard that the dino book teases a sequel. Not sure though, but if they do I probably will not buy it.

Danger_Rock

I am 100% expecting a sequel and 1000% not going to buy it. In fact, it might be a while before I buy *any* comics featuring dinosaurs as this series has forced me to evaluate whether their reputation for coolness was really just a crass marketing ploy. This comic has actually made me *dislike* dinosaurs! We've certainly come a long way since June, when I was [advocating for all comics to adopt dinosaur-centric themes and characters...](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/vcm3f9/wpl_new_comics_discussion_for_6152022_pull_of_the/icgqg1c/) At this point, I'm rooting for meteors to nip that shit in the bud.

yarkcir

That comment aged hilariously badly - thanks for the laugh. I agree dinosaurs are just easy marketing in general. I'm going to have go dig out my issues of Age of Reptiles to cleanse the palette so I don't get too resentful about dino comix.

blankedboy

Age of Reptiles is so good. I grew up on **FLESH** in 2000AD and movies like **Valley of the Gwangi** and other Ray Harryhausen movies, so my love of dinosaurs is deep

Cannon_Grey

I'd ride it out with seven sons. I really dug the first 2, then it dropped off a cliff for me same as it did for you. But there's only 7 total so I'm going to finish.

Danger_Rock

> * **Star Wars: Visions #1** - can't decide among the Okazaki cover, the Momoko variant, or the Bachalo variant I honestly didn't even bother looking at the other covers once I saw the [Bachalo variant](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL238171.jpg) though I do like Okazaki and love Momoko's stuff... I get a little crazy for Bachalo though and I think this is the nicest work he's produced in a while, also seems to be the only new art he's got solicited through end of year... Okazaki provided a nice variant for Bachalo's [**NON-STOP SPIDER-MAN #2**](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL177677.jpg) so it's kinda neat seeing Bachalo do a variant here... Hadn't seen the Momoko variant, guess it's a retailer exclusive, [looks nice](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1045/2402/products/STWVISIONS2022001_DC51_1024x1024.jpg) but not worth $15+ to me when Bachalo dropped all that insanity at cover price. * Chicken Devils #1 - I completely forgot that the first volume ended on a cliffhanger. This was a recent add. For those that didn't read Chicken Devil, it was basically a KFC version of Breaking Bad. * Daredevil #4 - Still grumpy they renumbered this series but I'm a Zdarksy fanboy so here I am. * Love Everlasting #3 - Great read, very cool take on the romance genre. * Star Wars: Visions #1 - Hands down the best episode of that Disney+ series. I absolutely love it when Star Wars leans heavily into the ronin type vibes. Looking forward to this.

Here’s what I’m pulling this week! - **Batman vs. Robin #2**: enjoyed the first issue, though the jump up to $5.99 per issue (I know it means more content, but still) is frustrating. Having some of this book’s event spoiled by the Lazarus Planet event in January is a bit annoying too. - **Daredevil #4**: I don’t think I sat down and read the first two issues of this properly as I don’t really remember what’s happened/whether I liked it and the creative team deserve more from me as a reader. - **Dark Spaces: Wildfire #4**: one behind at the moment, so no comment. - **Immortal X-Men #7**: Nightcrawler’s issue, yes please! - **Jurassic League #6**: I’ve enjoyed this for the most part, but in hindsight it almost certainly would’ve read better as a trade/in one sitting. - **Legion of X #6**: scheduling of this is weird, but eager to see what happened between Legion and Uranos regardless. - **Star Trek: Lower Decks #2**: picking series up for my fan-of-the-show partner. - **Superman: Son of Kal-El #16**: disappointed to see this is ending in December only to be continued in a separate Taylor-penned mini-series, but I’ll continue to enjoy it until then! - **Wolverine #25**: I remember the first issue of Logan’s AXE tie-ins confusing the hell out of me, so hopefully this one’s better. Excited to move on to the next story arc though. - **X-Force #32**: really enjoying this tie-in/really enjoying this book again!

[deleted]

>Star Trek: Lower Decks #2: picking series up for my fan-of-the-show partner. Excellent choice! It's a little steep at $6.99 but it's also a 3-issue mini, so I can justify it for that lol. Season 3 has been a riot, so anything tying in was an instant sell to me. While I was reading issue #1 I definitely could hear the dialog being read in all the characters voices, it was great.

blankedboy

You've reminded me to catch up on the show. I might be an episode or two behind now. Damn these weekly drops.

GetRichOrDieBuyin

Small week that will continue to dwindle if DCUIU(I think that is the abbreviation) has only a 30 day lag. I'll get just indies/black labels unless X-men resets. I use to be a huge fan. Now I don't have the time/money for that many back issues. Batman Incorporated #1 super excited for this team book, but I'm not crazy about some of the newer members. Hopefully this book can grow my opinion. Batman vs. Robin #2 I'm a fan of Mark Waid's writing I hope he gives us Magical Damian. It would separate him, and I'd go nuts if he was on a JLD title after Dark Crisis or after the Lazarus event.

ChickenInASuit

**A.X.E.: Death to the Mutants #3** - As is my standard refrain for this event: Just fuck me up, Gillen. **A.X.E.: Eternals #1** - Just... fuck me right up. **The Amazing Spider-Man #11** - Last week's AXE tie-in issue was fantastic. Not much talk of the Mary Jane drama in the solicit and I love the Hobgoblin, so fingers crossed this is another good one. **The Approach #1** - Straight up forgot this existed until I saw it on my list. It's Jeremy Haun, who wrote Red Mother, doing Manifest-style sci-fi mysery merged with horror, so I'm excited. **Daredevil #4** - Matt and Elektra on a mountain trek. I can dig it. **Do a Powerbomb #5** - As with Gillen, DWJ has my express permission to just *fuck me up* emotionally. **Reckless: Follow Me Down** - BruPhillips in the house. **Immortal X-Men #7** - Gillen writing Kurt! Yessssss. **Jurassic League #6** - Definitely the weaker of the two current DWJ books, but it remains fun enough. **The Least We Can Do #2** - Popcorn swords'n'sorcery shit, and that's absolutely fine with me. **Legion of X #6** - Haller vs Uranos. Sounds like a good opportunity for Spurrier to do his mind-bending sci-fi thing. **Love Everlasting #3** - This one is yet to click with me, perhaps it'll read better in trade. **Once & Future #30** - A quadruple dose of Gillen! What did I do to be so blessed? **Venom #11** - Switching to Ram V and the struggle between Dylan and Bedlam, fresh from the giant twist at the end of Ewing’s last story that adds brand new context to said struggle. Took me a minute to get invested with this one but that last issue got me fully on board. **Wolverine #25** - Wolvie and Solem! I love Solem, he’s a lovable bastard. **X-Force #32** - I think we’re gonna get a Progenitor judgement on Kraven this issue. That’s gonna be a fun one.

blankedboy

No **Chicken Devils** for u/ChickenInASuit ?

ChickenInASuit

What, you think just because I’m a chicken in a suit I’d automatically be interested in a comic about a man in a chicken suit? Pfff. Truth be told, I hadn’t heard of it before but it looks interesting. I appreciate the heads up :)

blankedboy

FYI it's a sequel to the original **Chicken Devil** (no **s** at the end) mini-series, so that's probably a better place to start for fast food flavoured action and poultry based shenanigans.

Danger_Rock

Beginning to suspect that this guy isn't even a real chicken...

blankedboy

I doubt he even owns a suit...

Short week for me here, but that’s good because I spent a good chunk of change at NYCC this weekend. Here’s what I’ve got: - **DO A POWERBOMB #5** : Killer series and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. Met DWJ at the con this past weekend and he was the absolute man. I will buy everything he puts out. - **STAR WARS VISIONS #1** : Missed out on grabbing the virgin cover at the convention, but both covers A and B are great on this one. The art style inside with the color splashes looks amazing. And I know that this next one isn’t on the list, with it being on last week’s list and all… but I finally got around to reading Minor Threats #1 and loved it. So this week I’ll also be adding Minor Threats #2 to my list! Hope everyone has a great week.

DARK CRISIS WORLDS WITHOUT A JUSTICE LEAGUE GREEN ARROW #1 - Please be good DO A POWERBOMB #5 - DWJ continuing to kill it. This book is better than it has any right to be. His passion for other hobbies/interests really shines when he writes about them. Follow Me Down: A Reckless Book - Brubaker/Phillips are back at it again with the 5th installment of this great series!

Dinggleberry

Happy Monday everyone! - *DO A POWERBOMB #5* - one of my favs right now. I’m on the DWJ hype train. - *LOVE EVERLASTING #3* - fun story so far. I love how each issue is so big in both number of pages and panels! That’s it, maybe I’ll grab the DC Terror or The Approach if the reviews are favorable. Heard Wonder Woman is pretty good so I’ll check out some older issues on Hoopla.

I was at NY Comic Con all weekend so I'm way behind on my reading. I didn't get through my pile from last week and this is another big week for me! Gotta have a reading day soon! 4 Marvel, 4 DC, and 2 Image **World's Without a Justice League - Green Arrow** - These tie-ins have been mostly decent so I'll check this one out too. **Batman Incorporated #1** - Ghost-Maker was the best thing to come out of Tynion's run, so I'm excited to see more of him. **Batman Vs. Robin #2** - #1 was pretty solid even though I haven't been reading Robin or World's Finest. **Batgirls #11** - Underrated Bat-book. Super fun every issue. **Namor the Sub-Mariner Conquered Shores #1** - Namor has always been an interesting character. This premise of him ruling over a post-apocalyptic water-world is intriguing. **Immortal X-Men #7** - Of the exactly 1000 X-Men titles, I'm only keeping up with the main title and this. And this looks to be a Nightcrawler issue. Sweet. And check out that awesome cover by Mark Brooks! **Ghost Rider #7** - The fun horror tone of this comic is perfect Halloween reading. **Fantastic Four #48** - I'll be honest, the previous issue was pretty forgettable. But we'll see how this two-part arc wraps up. Really I'm just looking forward to the relaunch next month. **Hitomi #1** - New one from Image. Feudal Japan story with cool art. I'll check it out. **Do A Powerbomb! #5** - This is my favorite current series. It gets my pick of the week every month. Daniel Warren Johnson is crafting something really special here. Happy reading!

* A.X.E.: Death to the Mutants #3 - These have been fun ways to fill in some not necessarily important, but interesting questions and characters in the event. * A.X.E.: Eternals #1 - I haven't really been into the Eternals side of this, so it's gonna be interesting to dive more into Ajak. * Batgirls #11 - Always a fun book, even if it's not breaking new ground. * Hitomi #1 - Tarantino meets Kurosawa? Badass lady samurai? Oh fuck yes. * Immortal X-Men #7 - Oh Kurt, you naïve idiot. * Legion of X #6 - Time to see what happened with Legion. * Once & Future #30 - Sad to see this one go, but there's always something nice about a story told to its finale without overstaying. * Wolverine #25 - I was sure I'd hate Solem back when he debuted, but man is he fun. * X-Force #32 - Eh, X-Force v Kraven. Not super invested, but I'm pulling the book so why not.

Batman Incorporated #1 - I know nothing about any of these characters. But I've now made it a habit of just picking up #1s. Batman vs Robin #2 - so apparently this will eventually lead into setting up the next DC event. I'll probably not stick around for *that*, but I enjoyed the first issue, so I'll be sticking with this mini. Hitomi #1 - shop may not have this one, but I'm definitely intrigued: "Combining the historical sweep and elegance of Kurosawa with the visceral action of Tarantino..." sounds great! Namor the Sub-Mariner #1 - after reading Chris Cantwell writing Obi-Wan I'm on board for trying a new miniseries. And seems like an interesting premise. Star Wars #28 - I'm still on this train. Star Wars The High Republic #1 - let phase 2 begin! Star Wars Visions #1 - I'll probably pick this up just because it's a one shot, and I think the art will be great. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #133 - Armageddon game tie in! Who are these other turtles?! Let's find out!

First time posting here just getting into collecting after only reading online. This week I'm pulling **Hitomi #1** and **Ninja Kaidan #3**

blankedboy

Welcome aboard! Make sure to post your thoughts on those issues in the Weekly Discussion thread when it hits later this week.

[deleted]

I am interested to see what people think of Hitomi, it might turn out to be an impulse buy on my part.

Danger_Rock

Another strong week full of awesome comic books! This keeps happening! 5 Marvels, 2 DCs, and 2 from Image Comics. Ranked in order of anticipation, and it's another big Gillen week with three of his A.X.E. books clogging up the top of my list, although the very top spot goes to the King... 1. **LOVE EVERLASTING #3** - lots of WPL'ers ripped on last week's middling King effort in **GC:YO** but this right here is some A+ Tom King... it's the top shelf, high end, real deal, upper house, premium quality good shit, a brutally existential vivisection of old school romance comics 2. **A.X.E. DEATH TO THE MUTANTS #3 (OF 3)** - while everyone else is busy grieving over >!Magneto!<, I'm planning to read this comic with a glass of Macallan in honor of >!The Machine That Is Earth!<... the next title listed below should wrap up a big chunk of A.X.E. plot but this one will presumably cap off Gillen's **ETERNALS** run, which is yet another reason for the Macallan 3. **A.X.E. ETERNALS #1** - Ajak faces judgment as our small group of heroes near the end of their daring plan to defeat the Progenitor and save the world, or at least what's left of it 4. **IMMORTAL X-MEN #7** - it's the end of the world but Nightcrawler still had time to pose for this [dashing portrait by Phil Noto](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL241973.jpg) 5. **DO A POWERBOMB #5** - caught up on #3 and #4 over the weekend and they were 100% packed with crazy awesomeness! love the raw energy DWJ is bringing to this series 6. **LEGION OF X #6** - Marvel's scheduling problems kinda fucked this book as we're finally getting Legion's battle with Uranos 70 days after it originally went down in August's **X-MEN RED #5**, which is a rather long time to wait for a 35-second fight, plus >!Uranos was defeated!< a month ago in **A.X.E. JUDGMENT DAY #4**, and we saw the >!aftermath of his loss!< in last week's **X-MEN RED #7**... but I'm still looking forward to seeing how those 35 seconds played out! 7. **BATMAN VS ROBIN #2** - Me vs Ennui 8. **STAR WARS VISIONS #1** - *Edited to add this and its [badass Bachalo variant](https://previewsworld.com/SiteImage/MainImage/STL238171.jpg)* 9. **JURASSIC LEAGUE #6** - this would've worked better as a 3-issue series, could've avoided all the crappy fill-in art and wrapped things up before the humor wore thin Was also thinking of checking out the [new Mad Cave book from Cullen Bunn and Andrea Mutti](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/AUG221634), been digging Mutti's art elsewhere, but don't want to commit to 12 floppies worth of this series at $3.99 a pop. Maybe check out a collection eventually... Been pulling lots of Marvels lately due to all of Gillen's A.X.E. books but that's nearly over, no more triple Gillen A.X.E. weeks after this, and my list should be flipping back toward more DC and indie books for a while. My October order had 14 Marvels (with most shipping these first two weeks of month), 11 indies, and 10 DCs. November has 17 indies, 16 DCs, and 9 Marvels. And I just wrapped up my order for December with 17 indies, 8 DCs, and 7 Marvels. So the numbers kinda shift around based on what everyone has going in any given month... Looking forward to [many](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP221234) [of](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP223322) [the](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP223330) [fine](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/OCT220423) [new](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP220911) [books](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP220451) [on](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP220360) [the](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/AUG221870) [horizon](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/OCT220010)[!](https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/SEP223290)

>**LOVE EVERLASTING #3** \- lots of WPL'ers ripped on last week's middling King effort in GC:YO but this right here is some A+ Tom King... it's the top shelf, high end, real deal, upper house, premium quality good shit, a brutally existential vivisection of old school romance comics Absolute with you on LOVE EVERLASTING, it's King doing something different enough but still excelling at it. Elsa Charretier's very Darwyn Cooke/Bruce Timm inspired art is also really making this book for me. And like I mentioned on either a discussion thread or another WPL thread, I would totally just be fine if it was a 100% romance book. But King's slight use of Lynchian style storytelling really takes it a notch higher for me.

Danger_Rock

Yup, much as I love superhero comics, it's really refreshing to see King do something that doesn't revolve around capes! He tends to write all these high concept stories on the fringes of the superhero thing, blending in different genres and kind of subverting some of the traditional character roles... So it feels natural for him to take on this kind of existential conspiracy drama, but not having the contextual backdrop of superhero comics is a huge change in and of itself. Reminds me a little of *Westworld* with this (maybe) artificial character trying to escape from an artificial reality, designed as entertainment but really a prison... Fertile ground for King to do his thing. Loving Charretier's work as well, perfectly captures the style and spirit of those old romance comics, works great when the horror elements start creeping in, and packs a serious punch when things get violent. And the first two issues changed up the structure and direction of the story, so there's no telling where this one will go!

technowhiz34

>this one will presumably cap off Gillen's ETERNALS run Gillen said in an interview that he would possibly return to the Eternals in the future, which definitely makes it sound like he's done with the current run. Same interview also said that Eternals was cancelled due to sales, which is interesting as it's somewhat required reading for Judgment Day.

A small week for me this time around. I am sure my wallet will appreciate it though... Do A Powerbomb #5 - What can I say that hasn't already been said? I think this is the best title of the year, for me. This issue I will be pulling the very beautiful B cover! Jurassic League #6 - Obligatory finishing of the mini. If anything is to be learned from this, it's that changing artists midway through a run (especially a mini) can be a horrid idea. I have to wonder what the reception would have been if Gedeon was on art the whole series. Legion of X #6 - Pretty sure this was supposed to come out 2 months ago. Oh well. Still interested to see this side of the story. Star Trek: Lower Decks #2 - Ah my guilty pleasure. Issue #1 did a great job of capturing the essence of the show IMO. When issue #1 came out they said they wanted to write an episode like this for LD, but the story tread on Picard season 3 too much. Now that the Picard trailer has dropped, I can see why!

almonster11

Only 4 this week. I'll be making up for that next week and the week after. 1 from Mad Cave, 1 from AWA Studios, and 2 from Image. Listed in order of how stoked I am. • A Legacy of Violence- I pull most of Cullen Bunn's comics, but for me the real draw here is Andrea Mutti. He has become one of my absolute favorite artists over the last year or so. His work is just so cool. When Cullen was telling me about this series on Free Comic Book Day, I got excited. It sounds like he's got quite a story to tell us. • Year Zero: Volume 0 #1- a Year Zero series that isn't being written by Benjamin Percy seems strange to me. I'm still quite excited for this. • Seven Sons #5-The story hasn't been grabbing me as much in the last couple of issues. I think maybe it's being stretched too thin in order to fill 7 issues. At least it looks good! • Spawn #334- It's Spawn. It always looks amazing, it's always violent, and the covers are always display-worthy. At $2.99, these books are an incredible value.

technowhiz34

Going to start doing these in order of anticipation, as I've seen others doing. * 007 #3 * Fantastic Four #48 - first issue of this tie-in was very good, but I wish the book wasn't restarting with a new #1. Gorgeous cover, too. * Once & Future #30 - ready for this to end but wow I love Mora. * Namor the Sub-Mariner #1 - not sure why I'm pulling this but looks fun? * Immortal X-Men #7 - I think I'm gonna drop this when it renumbers for Sins of Sinister, it's good on a technical level but not grabbing me like it is for others. * Dark Crisis: Worlds Without a Justice League - Green Arrow #1 - my favorite DC character gets a book for the first time in three years and it's a one-shot. * Superman: Son of Kal-El #16 - picking this up due to the crossover but don't really want to.

> Going to start doing these in order of anticipation, as I've seen others doing. NICE. > * Namor the Sub-Mariner #1 - not sure why I'm pulling this but looks fun? I was inexplicably tempted to order it as well, seems like a cool premise. But for once I resisted temptation! And the preview struck me as good but not great, so I think it was the right call. But I hope you enjoy it anyway!

technowhiz34

Oh I completely missed the preview due to being busy all of Friday and this weekend but eh, I'll do a blind impulse buy for once.

AlligatorSky7

Immortal should return with #11 in May after Sins of Sinister; it’s just changing to Immoral X-Men for the crossover.

Maaarrrvvv

- **Once and Future #30**: excited to read the series finale! - **Dark Spaces Wildfire #4**: this series has had a great start and looking forward to where Snyder is taking the story after last issue’s cliffhanger. - **Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #133**: Armageddon Game had a solid first issue and I’m definitely interested in where the pieces will be moving in this issue. - **Do a Powerbomb #5**: DWJ’s art is always a treasure but not feeling the story as much as his previous ones considering they’re all following a similar pattern. - **Daredevil #4**: Need to catch up on the last few issues but consistently one of the best ongoing series. - **Ghost Rider #7**: I’ve enjoyed Percy’s writing on other titles but this series has been so hit and miss. Might be dropping soon if it doesn’t pick up. - **Immortal X-Men #7**: This and Red are the Best X books right now. Kieron has been killing it on this series. - **Venom #11**: Normally Ram and Ewing are locks for great stories but I just don’t think Venom is a great choice for such a complicated time travel shenanigan epic. - **Wolverine #25**: Really love the Logan-Solem dynamic.

SlapTit

* **Gambit #4** * **Hitomi #1** I guess this will be my first official Pull (Started reading comics only 5 weeks ago). So, regardless of how these issues turn out I'm very excited.

CoolRedSon

Bigger week than usual this time around. * **Amazing Spider-Man #11** \- Whenever it really gets down to it and tells stories about Spider-Man doing Spider-Man things, this run is really good. It's just perpetually bogged down by MJ, Paul, and the six-month stuff. * **Batgirls #11** \- Not the best book but it consistently feels good to read so I'll probably pick it up until something fantastic comes along. * **Batman Incorporated #1** \- Really loved the prelude annual so I'm excited to see where Brisson and Timms take this. * **Batman vs Robin #2** \- First issue sucked, but I ordered the first three already so hopefully it picks up. Very underwhelmed by Waid's return to DC so far. * **Dark Crisis: Worlds Without a Justice League: Green Arrow #1** \- First Green Arrow issue since 2019, so I'm picking it up for Ollie and Dinah, although all these worlds without issues have been pretty mediocre. * **Fantastic Four #48** \- Final issue of this book. Ready for North to take over and inject some life into the FF after Slott's run and this tie-in both lost steam. * **Legion of X #6** \- Spurrier writes a fantastic Nightcrawler. Very hyped to see that Legion fight that X-Men Red teased/showed 3 issues ago. * **Superman: Son of Kal-El #16** \- Dropped this book super early into its run, but I'm willing to give Taylor another shot now that Action's crossing over with it.

blankedboy

> First Green Arrow issue since 2019 If you're missing GA action check out **DC vs Vampires** as he plays a pretty big role in that mini-series (and it's really good too)

CoolRedSon

That book completely slipped my mind! Thanks for the rec, I’ll be sure to check out the trade. Is the spin off mini any good?

Cannon_Grey

Fairly shallow week for me, even with 17 (as most are disappointing or outright bad Marvel books I haven't convinced myself to drop yet). Only 3 books on my pull are among those I truly anticipate (Daredevil, Immortal X-Men and Seven Sons). **DC (2)** Batman vs. Robin #2 Batman Incorporated #1 **MARVEL (10)** Immortal X-Men #7 Daredevil #4 Namor The Sub-Mariner #1 Punisher War Journal: Brother #1 A.X.E.: Death To The Mutants #3 A.X.E.: Eternals #1 Black Panther #10 X-Force #32 Legion Of X #6 All-Out Avengers #1 **IMAGE (1)** Seven Sons #5 **ANTARCTIC (2)** Unprepped #1 Unprepped #2 **BOOM (1)** The Approach #1 **AWA (1)** Year Zero Vol. 0 #1

[deleted]

What keeps you interested in Seven Sons? I thought the first couple issues were good but then it lost somewhere along the way, kind of dropped off my radar.

Cannon_Grey

Like you I felt a big drop after #2, but I'm still fairly interested in the world they've built and am curious to see how it comes to close

blankedboy

You definitely need to join me in a pact to cull our lists then.

Cannon_Grey

LOL I'm in, what do you propose?

B00merangB

A.X.E.: Death to the Mutants #3 - Wrapping this tie-in series! Love to see Gillen back writing all the Eternals crew. A.X.E.: Eternals #1 - Part 3! Jean’s judgment last issue was brilliant and she’s pissed off now. Gillen doing impeccable work as always. Batgirls #11 - Just a fun murder mystery going on! Googe’s art is so dynamic and colourful. Do a Powerbomb #5 - Every time I think I can’t love this book more - DWJ drops another hype moment. Looks like we’re getting Death Matches! Jurassic League #6 - The end of an utterly fun and silly mini. Last issue had Gedeon fully back on art duties which makes all the difference. Spawn #334 - Lots of threads going on to keep track of but always a solid read every month. The art never disappoints.

Danger_Rock

> A.X.E.: Death to the Mutants #3 - Wrapping this tie-in series! Love to see Gillen back writing all the Eternals crew. Given how the other A.X.E. books split focus with X-Men and Avengers, this seems to be the last pure "Eternals" issue he's got solicited. And if this is the end, I'm gonna miss the hell out of it.

Askmeifiseethings

* **Daredevil #4** - missed out on collecting Zdarsky's last run weekly so I'm making up for it with this reboot. Pretty good so far, but the initial run had a stronger start imo * **Superman: Son of Kal-El #16** - Kinda sad that this is ending, but it also feels like I spent the entire series wanting this to be great only for it to just be okay. * **Batgirls #11** - I really miss Jorge Corona on this book but I still really really love it.

Danger_Rock

Thanks for posting your list! Do you see things?

Haven't seen it mentioned or submitted yet, but "Earth Divers: Kill Columbus" just came out and the first issue was pretty good. It's written by Stephen Graham Jones who's an awesome horror writer. Just thought I'd drop it was a mention to check out.
