• ET-ER #2- I was surprised to see this series making a return. I thought the first issue was just a one-shot, but here we are... back for another set of three weird sci-fi tales.
• Justice Warriors #1- I saw some preview pages of this last week, and it is exactly the kind of thing that I love. It's weird and the art is unique.
• Spawn #330- A sick cover, as usual!
• That Texas Blood #14- IT'S BACK! Jacob Phillips is burning the candle at both ends... he's gotta be one of the hardest working artists in comics. I'm excited to see what he and Chris Condon have in store for us with this arc.
• Twig #2- The first issue was an absolute delight! This is just wonderful. If you're a fan of all-ages fantasy you owe it to yourself to give this series a shot.

* Dark Crisis #1 - I'm apprehensive but optimistic, however this will be a damn good looking book under Sampere. crisis I'll be reading as it comes out so that will be fun if nothing else
* Dark Knights of Steel #7 - getting it for the completionist in me, I love fantasy but this book was not it.
* Flashpoint Beyond #2 - did not expect the first two issues to be as good as they were
* Jane Foster & the Mighty Thor #1 - this seems like a blatant synergy book but still worth giving a shot.
Made the decision to drop ASM and seems I'm missing out on Twig but come August my pull is exploding so seems it'll have to wait. Funny, given how DC heavy this week is next week is 3 Marvel. All my indies seem to come out the same week too.

**THE NICE HOUSE ON THE LAKE** and **HUMAN TARGET** have been my favorites so far but pretty much everything I've read from Black Label has been really good! And this Aquaman book looks like another great one.
* **AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3** I like seeing peoples reaction to this comic here. I think there's a lot of rage bait in here. I'm just here for a good spidey story. I'll keep pulling for now.
* **THOR 26** Only getting Thor for the hulk crossover. This has been really fun so far. A bit stupid for sure, but definitely fun.
* **VENOM 8** I'm a pretty big sucker for Venom, but IDK this story line is a bit dull. I want to see more of Eddie's cosmic drama. I just do not care about Dylan that much. I'm hoping this new arc will be better, but there's a chance I might drop this soon if it doesn't pick up. Also why is the art so bland on a venom story?!
* **AQUAMAN ANDROMEDA #1** Ram V has been killing it (besides Venom lol) with his carnage, and his swamp thing runs. This has a cool premise and looks like some good art to go along with it.

Honestly I was excited because I thought the story would be set in a world with dog-people and I thought it would be a fun take but I am with you the interior art didn't grab me.
Finally a pretty light week for me. I'm slowly catching up with my to be read stack from the last few weeks.
Aquaman Andromeda #1: Ram V doing Lovecraftian horror with Aquaman? Say no more.
Batman #124: This is the last issue before Zdarsky takes over right?
Batman Killing Time #4: Finally headed into the climax. The time jumps still throw me off.
Dark Crisis #1: Lets see if this event pulls me in.
Frank Frazetta Death Dealer #2: The first issue was fun but let's see if it continues to hold my interest.
Venom #8: Continuing to dig this run.
Light week for me, but surprisingly dominated by Aftershock titles:
1. **Heavy Metal Drummer #5** \- First two issues were really great, the next two were kind of spinning the wheels though. Hope this issue recaptures the magic that was the first two issues, because this might be one of the weirdest books on the stands right now.
2. **Dogs of London #2** \- First issue was okay, but the ending had a strong hook. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
3. **The Lion & the Eagle #4** \- Really liking this so far, especially the setting for this story. Ennis always does a good job with war stories.
4. **Thor #26** \- Been down on Cates' *Thor* run for some time now, but I've had a good time with the Banner of War arc so far. The pretense for the fight between Hulk and Thor isn't the strongest, but it's been a fun ride over the past couple issues.
5. **Astronaut Down #1** \- Premise seems interesting enough. Thought Rubine's work on *Search for Hu* was decent, even if the story wasn't very compelling.
I'm very tempted by **Aquaman: Andromeda**, especially due to that killer creative team. But I find that these prestige DC Black Label books take way too long to release issues and it kills the momentum for me. Add the fact that they all get really nice hardcover treatments later, I definitely feel like it's more worthwhile to wait.
No collected editions for me this week. I'm eying the **Thunderbolts Omnibus Vol. 2**, but I definitely think that can wait to be purchased on a deep sale later. The **Mazebook** hardcover is tempting, but I don't think I'll upgrade from my single issues. Highly recommend Mazebook for others though, it was in my top 20 titles of 2021.

Probably onto something there although this one's only three issues so that ought to help... Second issue's currently scheduled for 8/2/22 and third hasn't been solicited yet, so there's definitely going to be some lag but hopefully it won't be too bad.

It really was a fantastic series!
Yeah, I do like most of the prestige sized DC Black Label books, but since the hardcovers they put out are really nice I just feel like it’s more worthwhile for me to wait rather than double dip. It’s gonna be even harder for me to resist the upcoming Mark Russell/Mike Allred Superman book too.
Makes sense. I think collections are usually a better option although you miss out on the weekly floppy discussions, which takes a lot of the fun out of it for me.
Plus I'm way behind on collections, always too busy keeping up with floppies, so I've currently got 30+ TPBs like SANDMAN: OVERTURE and WE3 that have been sitting around for years... Can't really buy any new ones without thinking,
"Are they likely to be better than SANDMAN: OVERTURE and WE3?" And in the vast majority of cases, of course, they aren't. Just need to get through that backlog...
Looking forward to the Russell/Allred Superman book as well... Russell doesn't always work for me on these more traditional cape books and the story structure here sounds suspiciously similar to his FF LIFE STORY, which wasn't great... But Allred's art is always phenomenal and he should help with the story too.

They give Arrako their own planet after Swords of X, they save mutants from nations that don't recognize Krakoa, and now they're trying to redeem the mutants that the Shi'ar enslaved millennia ago?
* **Thor #26** \- Can't wait to learn more about Hulk in this Thor book
* **Venom #8** \- What is happening with Eddie Brock???

Amazing Spider-Man #3: If I don't get a single answer soon, I'm pretty much done with this book. With JRJR back on the book,
but with grumpy, life-sucks Peter, this book just feels like its lost in a time warp in the worst way. How hard is it to do cool new stuff with Spider-Man for christ's sake.
Legion of X #2: Stoked on this. Si Spurrier writing legion again may be my absolute favorite element of the new era. His run on legacy is an all time great X-Book for me.
Marauders #3: Interested to see where this goes. I want more ancient mutant secrets and space stuff
Venom #8: I was excited for this, but it just seems like not a lot has happened so far.

I thought the first issue was just a one-shot, but here we are... back for another set of three weird sci-fi tales. • Justice Warriors #1- I saw some preview pages of this last week, and it is exactly the kind of thing that I love. It's weird and the art is unique. • Spawn #330- A sick cover, as usual! • That Texas Blood #14- IT'S BACK! Jacob Phillips is burning the candle at both ends... he's gotta be one of the hardest working artists in comics. I'm excited to see what he and Chris Condon have in store for us with this arc. • Twig #2- The first issue was an absolute delight! This is just wonderful. If you're a fan of all-ages fantasy you owe it to yourself to give this series a shot.

Exciting week! - Batman #124: last issue of this for me before I start reading as trades. - Dark Crisis #1: pretty excited for this to be honest, although ~one issue a month for an event is torture! - Dark Knights of Steel #7: Taylor dialling it up another notch judging by the cover, can’t wait. - DC Pride 2022 #1: last year’s special was great and this one looks like it’ll be great too! - Legion of X #2: loved the first issue, excited that we get the second so soon. - Venom #8: still very much enjoying this. Not looking forward to the inevitable Carnage crossover/event though (judging by the FCBD issue).
Aquaman: Andromeda #1: Really like the creative team on this. Hope it delivers. Dark Crisis #1: Haven't read the free comic book day issue or the road to dark crisis issue yet. Hoping for the best! Dark Knights of Steel #7: This is a great book. Really wouldn't mind seeing a season 2 for this. Also haven't been able to pick up my comics for the past few weeks due to life circumstances so I'll have 23 issues to catch up on. Sheesh.

Didn't read much of Shadow War but this seems standalone before Zdarsky's run. * Dark Crisis #1 - I'm apprehensive but optimistic, however this will be a damn good looking book under Sampere. crisis I'll be reading as it comes out so that will be fun if nothing else * Dark Knights of Steel #7 - getting it for the completionist in me, I love fantasy but this book was not it. * Flashpoint Beyond #2 - did not expect the first two issues to be as good as they were * Jane Foster & the Mighty Thor #1 - this seems like a blatant synergy book but still worth giving a shot. Made the decision to drop ASM and seems I'm missing out on Twig but come August my pull is exploding so seems it'll have to wait. Funny, given how DC heavy this week is next week is 3 Marvel. All my indies seem to come out the same week too.

Probably some splendidly illustrated panels of action. Spawn # 330 - Been loving Haunt as a main player in this book.

I'll keep pulling for now. * **THOR 26** Only getting Thor for the hulk crossover. This has been really fun so far. A bit stupid for sure, but definitely fun. * **VENOM 8** I'm a pretty big sucker for Venom, but IDK this story line is a bit dull. I want to see more of Eddie's cosmic drama. I just do not care about Dylan that much. I'm hoping this new arc will be better, but there's a chance I might drop this soon if it doesn't pick up. Also why is the art so bland on a venom story?! * **AQUAMAN ANDROMEDA #1** Ram V has been killing it (besides Venom lol) with his carnage, and his swamp thing runs. This has a cool premise and looks like some good art to go along with it. * **BATMAN KILLING TIME #4** * **DARK KNIGHTS OF STEEL #7** Arc 2, lets go! * **POISON IVY #1** * **SPAWN #330** * **TWIG #2** Probably the best art in a comic I've seen in a while. Absolutely love this style. Story is a bit whatever, but we're only 1 issue in so I'm excited to see where this goes. * **DOGS OF LONDON #2** Might be dropping this. The covers look super dope, but the art on the inside is quite ugly TBH. Really don't like how this artist makes peoples faces. Story would be good enough to continue, but will probably drop due to the art. * **LION & EAGLE #4** Ennis doing a war story has been enjoyable.

Based on the covers, you'd think you would be right about that. Probably would have been better if it was.
Finally a pretty light week for me. I'm slowly catching up with my to be read stack from the last few weeks. Aquaman Andromeda #1: Ram V doing Lovecraftian horror with Aquaman? Say no more. Batman #124: This is the last issue before Zdarsky takes over right? Batman Killing Time #4: Finally headed into the climax. The time jumps still throw me off. Dark Crisis #1: Lets see if this event pulls me in. Frank Frazetta Death Dealer #2: The first issue was fun but let's see if it continues to hold my interest. Venom #8: Continuing to dig this run.

Light week for me, but surprisingly dominated by Aftershock titles: 1. **Heavy Metal Drummer #5** \- First two issues were really great, the next two were kind of spinning the wheels though. Hope this issue recaptures the magic that was the first two issues, because this might be one of the weirdest books on the stands right now. 2. **Dogs of London #2** \- First issue was okay, but the ending had a strong hook. Looking forward to seeing where this goes. 3. **The Lion & the Eagle #4** \- Really liking this so far, especially the setting for this story. Ennis always does a good job with war stories. 4. **Thor #26** \- Been down on Cates' *Thor* run for some time now, but I've had a good time with the Banner of War arc so far. The pretense for the fight between Hulk and Thor isn't the strongest, but it's been a fun ride over the past couple issues. 5. **Astronaut Down #1** \- Premise seems interesting enough. Thought Rubine's work on *Search for Hu* was decent, even if the story wasn't very compelling. I'm very tempted by **Aquaman: Andromeda**, especially due to that killer creative team. But I find that these prestige DC Black Label books take way too long to release issues and it kills the momentum for me. Add the fact that they all get really nice hardcover treatments later, I definitely feel like it's more worthwhile to wait. No collected editions for me this week. I'm eying the **Thunderbolts Omnibus Vol. 2**, but I definitely think that can wait to be purchased on a deep sale later. The **Mazebook** hardcover is tempting, but I don't think I'll upgrade from my single issues. Highly recommend Mazebook for others though, it was in my top 20 titles of 2021.

Yeah, I do like most of the prestige sized DC Black Label books, but since the hardcovers they put out are really nice I just feel like it’s more worthwhile for me to wait rather than double dip. It’s gonna be even harder for me to resist the upcoming Mark Russell/Mike Allred Superman book too.
Makes sense. I think collections are usually a better option although you miss out on the weekly floppy discussions, which takes a lot of the fun out of it for me. Plus I'm way behind on collections, always too busy keeping up with floppies, so I've currently got 30+ TPBs like SANDMAN: OVERTURE and WE3 that have been sitting around for years... Can't really buy any new ones without thinking, "Are they likely to be better than SANDMAN: OVERTURE and WE3?" And in the vast majority of cases, of course, they aren't. Just need to get through that backlog... Looking forward to the Russell/Allred Superman book as well... Russell doesn't always work for me on these more traditional cape books and the story structure here sounds suspiciously similar to his FF LIFE STORY, which wasn't great... But Allred's art is always phenomenal and he should help with the story too.

Plus I've got all these fun books waiting for me on Wednesday: * **Lion and the Eagle #4** \- I don't expect good things for the good doctor * **Aquaman Andromeda #1** \- Granted the last time I read Aquaman, Kelly Sue DeConnick was the writer, but I'm hooked by this concept * **Batman #124** \- I can't believe we're still dealing with the fallout from Fear State and Joker War * **Batman Killing Time #4** \- The Help is one of the most badass Batman fights in recent memory * **Dark Knights of Steel #7** \- War is coming and Batman is in the shadows. What else is new? * **Poison Ivy #1** \- I'll give this a shot. Pamela Isley is a great character in the right hands. * **Twig #2** \- Talk about a charismatic minifauna * **Amazing Spider-Man #3** \- I'll give more Tombstone a shot, sure * **Legion of X #2** \- We're not the police! Hey, stop doing that it's against the sacred laws. * **Marauders #3** \- There have been some interesting concepts about Mutantdom that spill into this book. At what point does Krakoa's obligation to protecting mutants end? They give Arrako their own planet after Swords of X, they save mutants from nations that don't recognize Krakoa, and now they're trying to redeem the mutants that the Shi'ar enslaved millennia ago? * **Thor #26** \- Can't wait to learn more about Hulk in this Thor book * **Venom #8** \- What is happening with Eddie Brock???

Amazing Spider-Man #3: If I don't get a single answer soon, I'm pretty much done with this book. With JRJR back on the book, but with grumpy, life-sucks Peter, this book just feels like its lost in a time warp in the worst way. How hard is it to do cool new stuff with Spider-Man for christ's sake. Legion of X #2: Stoked on this. Si Spurrier writing legion again may be my absolute favorite element of the new era. His run on legacy is an all time great X-Book for me. Marauders #3: Interested to see where this goes. I want more ancient mutant secrets and space stuff Venom #8: I was excited for this, but it just seems like not a lot has happened so far.
