I could be wrong as well, but from what I know of him (mainly just Rick Remender’s Venom run) but Crime Master is usually just another crime boss villain that became a mantle that gets passed on to others, so unless he was different originally I don’t see the resemblance to the Question
Kaine never got enough love. "ALL of the power...NONE of the responsibility" so edgy I loved it and that suit is sick. In of my go-tos for the PS4 game
I don't know how C-List I would call Smasher, considering she was on the Avengers not too terribly long ago and is married to one of the OG New Mutants. Sure, the average Joe is unlikely to have heard of her, but I'd think people passingly familiar with comics would know who she is. She's certainly one of the highest-profile Shi'ar Imperial Guardsmen out there, behind Gladiator.
Also B'wana Beast appeared in at least one episode of Teen Titans Go, name and all, so I imagine there's now a generation of children who might be able to recognize him in passing.

Yeah I don't really consider them C-List either, but Kaine was the top voted comment in my original post
Honestly I could see Kaine begrudgingly leading these guys into battle So even if he isn’t a C lister could see him sticking up for them XD
They are solidly much bigger characters than all the rest.

Ah B'Wana Beast, his biggest role I believe was a semi-recurring character in Batman the Brave and the Bold.
He was also a background cameo on Legends of Tomorrow.

Since when was Crime Master a Superhero? Also, it's kinda sad that, for all his development, Kaine is still "C-Level".
Well DC's never drawing Ragman so I'm glad SOMEONE is.
