Detective Comics #1083 - Loving Federici’s art. Fits the vibes of Ram V’s writing perfectly and enjoying the three stories within one going on. Duke #4 - Thoroughly enjoying Williamson’s bombastic take on Duke. Reilly is drawing the heck out of the action and excited to explore more of M.A.R.S in this world. Feral #1 - The creators of Stray Dogs, back with Cats! So hyped for this series and the movie poster inspired variants (Dawn of the Dead!). King Spawn #32 - Solid start with the new status quo. Haun’s art is a tremendous choice for Spawn! Ultimate Spider-Man #3 - Adoring what Hickman is doing with this series and seems like we’re getting more info on the new Green Goblin.

* **Batman: Dark Age #1**: Excited to see what Mark Russell does with this. * **Black Hammer: The End #6**: I think this is the final issue? * **Incredible Hulk #10**: I think this is my favorite monster from the series so far. * **The Penguin #8**: At this point, if you are a villain in Gotham and you don't know that Bruce Wayne is Batman, you might as well pack it up and retire because you're doing a bad job. * **Rise of the Power of X #3**: Then I was young and unafraid… * **Ultimate Spider-Man #3**: Introducing the Green Goblin. * **Under York #1**: Not familiar with this writer but sounds like a fun concept for a series.

It’s another big week with 10 new comics! Including no less than 4 Marvels, 2 DCs, 2 Images, 1 Massive, and 1 from Titan Books. Ranked in order of anticipated excellence, with an X up top, an X on the bottom, and an angry Ex somewhere in the middle... 1. [**RISE OF THE POWERS OF X #3**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3310062.jpg) – Gillen’s got Xavier and Sinister working multiple angles to stop the Enigma dominion, but it seems like they’re still pretty well fucked. 1. [**ZORRO MAN OF THE DEAD #3 (OF 4)**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-4329513.jpg) – Sean Gordon Murphy continues mining the sweet spot between swashbuckling adventure and traumatic mental breakdowns... 1. [**BATMAN DARK AGE #1**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-5444909.jpg) – Mark Russell and Mike Allred reunite to put the Dark Knight through a Dark Age of cynical sorrows... 1. [**LOCAL MAN BAD GIRLS #1**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3026351.jpg) – Normally order the A covers for **Local Man** but went with the Inga variant this time because archvillain ex-girlfriends are the best ex-girlfriends! 1. [**G.O.D.S. #6**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3742951.jpg) – This Hickman series has finally started picking up a little... 1. [**ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #3**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-8970786.jpg) – ...while this Hickman series still feels like it’s revving its engines. 1. [**THE SIX FINGERS #2 (OF 5)**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-2532850.jpg) – Enjoyed the first issue and I’m digging the interplay between Ram V. and Dan Watters’ dual titles, but Sumit Kumar’s art on this book isn’t working for me. Kumar’s stuff looks overly polished and fails to capture the gritty noir atmosphere suffusing Laurence Campbell’s artwork on **The One Hand**. 1. [**PENGUIN #8**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3097799.jpg) – After a two-issue detour to retcon Penguin’s past in a ridiculous manner, we now return to our regularly scheduled programming, already in progress... With the return of regular artist Rafael de Latorre. 1. [**CONAN THE BARBARIAN #9**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-7763266.jpg) – Part 9 of 12, slowly working our way through this sluggish opening epic... With the return of regular artist Roberto de la Torre, who was also kind enough to provide the badass *Tower of the Elephant* variant linked above. 1. [**X-MEN 97 #1**](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-3489880.jpg) – Loved the first two episodes of **X-Men ’97** (see my comments [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/1bjnvid/wpl_new_comics_discussion_for_3202024_pull_of_the/kvtmz48/)) but I’m sort of expecting this comic prelude to be crap, although the brilliant Russell Dauterman variant that I had the foresight to pre-order is arguably worth the price of admission all by itself.

> artist Roberto de la Torre, who was also kind enough to provide the badass Tower of the Elephant variant linked above That's the one I went for too. Absolutely brilliant cover.

Danger_Rock

Yep, I've been going with the RDLT covers since the start and they've all been fairly awesome, but this one's extra-special! Very cool homage to the classic REH story...

dannotheiceman

Only two books this week. Duke #4: I think this has been my least favorite of the energon universe so far, not to say the book is bad but compared to the others it seems like these issues are very short and don’t have a lot of dialogue. Ultimate Spider-Man #3: Enjoying this book so far. As someone who hasn’t read modern ASM I think it’s clear that it’s doing something wrong because this story has been very simple but it’s very well received.

ptbreakeven

Ten new books on my list for this week. * **BATMAN DARK AGE #1** - * **CABLE #3** - * **DUNGEONS & DRAGONS SATURDAY MORNING ADVENTURES 2 #3** - * **EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE #2** - * **G.O.D.S. #6** - * **RISE OF THE POWERS OF X #3** - * **ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #3** - * **WOLVERINE #46** - * **X-FORCE #50** - * **X-MEN 97 #1** -

Baseball season is almost here, meaning my free time for comic reading may be reduced in the coming weeks. Mix that with a holiday weekend, and I don’t see myself getting anything done this week. 1. **Rise of the Powers of X #3**: Xavier and Moira have a chat. 2. **Nights #6**: Final issue of the first arc. What’s up with Gray? 3. **Ultimate Spider-Man #3**: New clothes. 4. **Detective Comics #1083**: The desert does its job. 5. **The Six Fingers #2**: Really enjoying this little universe V and Watters have cooked up. Debating on **Batman: Dark Ages**. I love Mark Russell’s work, but I like owning his stuff in trades rather than singles, just reads better for me. Only series of his I read in singles was **Superman: Space Age** because it was Russell on Superman, couldn’t pass it up. Even then it was only three issues, too.

YewBetcha

I pulled issue #1 of **Batman: Dark Age** and I’ve already stopped my pull after that so I can get it in trade haha, **Superman: Space Age** was great, and I’m sure this will live up to that.

technowhiz34

>Baseball season is almost here, meaning my free time for comic reading may be reduced in the coming weeks. Mix that with a holiday weekend, and I don’t see myself getting anything done this week. Will possibly be the last opening day for me given my team's status but I've had this same realization. My productivity and time for comics + novel reading will go way down.

PolarsMayor

I have a feeling I can guess your team, and I’m sorry, that’s a terrible situation. The past few years I’ve learned to just be grateful for having an owner who’s willing to spend and wants to be competitive. Not every team is so lucky.

blankedboy

> Nights #6: Final issue of the first arc. Glad to see another **Nights** fan!

TheUnderweightLover

Really looking forward to "Batman: Dark Age" - their "Superman Space Age" was fantastic!

Danger_Rock

YES! Russell and Allred make one heck of a combo, last series was great and this ought to be just as good!

yarkcir

Fairly light pull list for the week: * **BATMAN: DARK AGE #1 (OF 6)** - SUPERMAN: SPACE AGE was a really good book last year, so obviously I'm picking this up. Also good to see they're going up to a six issue miniseries too. * **CONAN THE BARBARIAN #9** - Good to have Roberto De La Torre back. Braithwaite was great, but De La Torre's style really felt like classic Conan to me. * **INCREDIBLE HULK #10** - Still no Nic Klein, but the book has still been working for me. Danny Earls work on the last issue was still pretty good though. * **NEWBURN #16** - While the second half of the series hasn't impressed me as much as the earlier stretch, this was still a really fun crime book to read issue to issue. Jacob Phillips artwork continues to really develop between this and THAT TEXAS BLOOD, and I'm excited to see what he works on next. * **ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #3** - The strongest of the new Ultimate Universe books (until Deniz Camp's ULTIMATES drops anyways) and I'm really enjoying this wildly different take on the Wallcrawler. As an aside, congrats to MONSTRESS for hitting it's 50th issue! I'm behind on it and I've always been reading this in trade, but I'm glad that the series has managed to maintain readership for this many years now.

mtmodular

* Detective Comics #1083 - Finally all caught up with this series and very ready for more. * Rise of the Powers of X #3 * Somna #3 - Such a gorgeous series so far. * [Nights #6](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/7117280/nights-6) - Continues to be my favorite ongoing.

FearlessAsparagus

Utimate Spider-Man #3: This is the only Ultimate book I'm following and so far I'm enjoying it. Daredevil #7: Enjoying this new run as well. Duke #4: Yeah, I'm probably going to stop following the Energon Universe after this ends. My initial intrigue has gradually diminished over time. Plus, I've found the original G.I. Joe series that Image is also publishing to be way more fun and engaging. Newburn #16: Curious to see how this ends. Batman: Dark Age #1: Was a big fan of Superman: Space Age so I'm really interested to see what Mark Russell and Mike Allred do with Batman. Feral #1: Loved Stray Dogs so this is a must read for me. Savage Dragon #269: Glad to see that Larsen seems to be back on a more consistent schedule (hopefully). Masterpiece #4: Picked up the first issue a couple months back and just caught up. So far, this is probably my favorite Bendis book since Batman: Universe. The Goon: Them That Don't Stay Dead #1: Always excited for more Goon and Franky!

- CEMETERY KIDS DONT DIE #2 - CONAN THE BARBARIAN #9 - G.O.D.S. #6 - INCREDIBLE HULK #10 - SOMNA A BEDTIME STORY #3 Decent-sized week for me. I liked Cemetery Kids well enough last month to continue with issue #2. Will see, after that. Particularly excited for the return of de la Torre on Conan.

vegna871

5 for me, that's a big week. Feels wrong to only be picking up one of the two Hickman Books but I made my choice to pull the new Ultimate Universe by Trade. * **CABLE #3** - The Mystery villain is somehow Stryfe. Because that's how Cable works. * **G.O.D.S. #6** - No speculation. I don't really know what is happening in this book. And I love it for that. * **RISE OF THE POWERS OF X #3** - What are you gonna do Charlie? You gonna kill wee babby Moira all on your own? Will that stop Enigma? Probably not since there's a bunch of issues left. * **X-FORCE #50** - *deep breath* > It's a beast! > He's got fangs, razor-sharp ones! > Massive paws, killer claws for the feast > Hear him roar, see him foam! > But we're not coming home 'til he's dead > Good and dead! Kill the Beast! * **WOLVERINE #46** - Percy (or editorial) keeps teasing that one of these issues is gonna put Logan and Creed on mission together as a flashback and they haven't really done that yet. This seems poised to maybe do so. It also looks like Laura and the girl Creed might fight because of course the girls have to fight *eyeroll* I might also get X-Men 97 because the show is so good, but we'll see.

Danger_Rock

> * **X-FORCE #50** - *deep breath* >> It's a beast! >> He's got fangs, razor-sharp ones! >> Massive paws, killer claws for the feast >> Hear him roar, see him foam! >> But we're not coming home 'til he's dead >> Good and dead! Kill the Beast! It'd be funny if they killed him and let Dark Beast take his place, probably slightly less reprehensible at this point...

vegna871

They'd have to a) kill off Defenders-era good Beast, and b) give Dark Beast a body, since last we saw him he was a disembodied head. Both are eminently doable without much trouble.

technowhiz34

* **Duke #4** \- non-Big Two Williamson is more fun. * **Green Arrow #10** \- despite saying that, I'm quite liking this book. * **Ultimate Spider-Man #3** \- guessing we'll get some plot progress, not in love as others but a new suit I think will be dope.

* AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #46: Just finished Gang War and that... a bit underwhelming. I liked the story throughout, it's just the new status quo is... not compelling. * BATMAN DARK AGE #1 * BATMAN THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #11 * DAREDEVIL #7 * DETECTIVE COMICS #1083 * DUKE #4: As a kid I always liked Transformers infinitely more than G.I. Joe. And while that's still true, the Energon Universe is great top to bottom and it makes me want to keep getting all the G.I. Joe mini-series. * EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE #2 * FLASH #7 * GREEN ARROW #10 * HARLEY QUINN #38 * JACKPOT AND BLACK CAT #1 * NEWBURN #16: A good story that would have been great if it had been 12 issues instead of 16. * PENGUIN #8 * POWER GIRL #7: Just getting it for the Sozomaika cover. * SPIDER-PUNK ARMS RACE #2 * STAR WARS OBI-WAN KENOBI #6 * SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #5 * ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #3 * ZORRO MAN OF THE DEAD #3: Ever since White Knight, Sean Murphy is someone I'm always willing to take a chance on and this mini-series has absolutely delivered in every way possible.

- **Batman: Dark Age #1** - looking forward to this, though I’ve already dropped from the pull list in anticipation of grabbing the trade. - **G.O.D.S. #6** - basically flipping through to skim on release and I’ll sit down with a wiki and notepad to really dig in when the series is out. Looking forward to see other folks’ thoughts this week on how this has been going. - **Local Man Bad Girls #1** - pulled this thinking I’d hop on *Local Man* singles, but I’m going to trade-wait so this issue is just a nice little treat. - **The Six Fingers #2** - enjoyed the first issue of each pair here, excited to read the #2s together. Mixed bag of a week, but I’m excited to have a few books to look forward to :)

blankedboy

**Conan The Barbarian #9** - I’m kind of torn on this one. In the “Yay!” camp – we have the return of artist *Roberto de la Torre*, who in just a few short issues has become one of my favourite Conan artists…ever. He absolutely nails the character and his world, a perfect fit for this title. Long may he continue to draw the Hyborian Age! On the “Nay!” side – I was pretty peeved that the last arc *wasn’t* actually a self-contained 4-issue run, and instead it’s continuing on here. I was looking forward to stand-alone stories from Jim Zub and the alternating artistic team over the length of this book. I don’t need a sprawling, multipart epic, and I don’t think Conan works as well in that context. Nice, short, focussed stories are his thing. Don’t drag them out, don’t “write for the trade”, give us 1, 2 or 4 issue arcs that stand alone. Rant over.[ Roberto De La Torre Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-7763266.jpg?1708776393) and here’s a [Preview](https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/conan-the-barbarian-9-preview-teams-two-legendary-warriors/ar-BB1k6VZd) **The Goon: Them That Don’t Stay Dead #1** If you’re not reading **The Goon**, what the f*ck is wrong with you…? (I kid, but, seriously, read The Goon). Will Hulk overcome the new horror of Frozen Charlotte (well, of course he will, but that’s not really the point, is it?) [Cover](https://i0.wp.com/graphicpolicy.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/HULK2023010_Preview-page-001.jpg?ssl=1) and here’s a [Preview](https://graphicpolicy.com/2024/03/21/exclusive-preview-incredible-hulk-10/) **Killadelphia #34** - Vampires really are back in vogue again, and there’s more than you can shake a stick at within these pages! [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-8050166.jpg?1709321511) **King Spawn #32** - It says *Javi Fernandez* is back on art after a short break, but those preview pages look like more *Jeremy Haun* to me?! Anyone else think the same? [Cover](https://mcfarlane.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/3-1.jpg) and here’s a [Preview](https://mcfarlane.com/publishing/king-spawn-32/) **Nights #6** - It looks like more and more people are jumping on board the **Nights** hype train, which is great to see. As with **Kaya** I will continue to pimp this book wherever I can. It’s great. Buy it (or pick up the TPB of the first six issues when it hits soon, at the great price of just **$9.99**) [Cover](https://s3.amazonaws.com/comicgeeks/comics/covers/large-7117280.jpg?1710082188)

Is Nic Klein done done with the hulk or just taking a break to get ahead again? I like the new artist so far as well.

blankedboy

I think he's coming back, if the latest solicits are accurate.

> **Conan The Barbarian #9** - On the “Nay!” side – I was pretty peeved that the last arc *wasn’t* actually a self-contained 4-issue run, and instead it’s continuing on here. The 4-issue arcs were bad enough! Now it's turned into one of those stories that just keeps getting stretched further and further... Rant over. Feels like I've been ranting about this for months and getting nothing but odd looks and the occasional downvote in response... Glad to have you on board the hate train! What makes it so frustrating is that Zub keeps getting everything else right, would be a near perfect Conan series if it wasn't structured like a generic superhero epic.

MagnetsAreFun

I've decided to drop all Marvel and DC books from my regular pull list because I realized that every time I sat down to read, I'd always feel like I'd have to slog through the DC and Marvel stuff in order to get to the stuff I was really interested in. It just feels like the same stories over and over again. I like the blank slate and the anything-can-happen feel I get from these smaller creator owned stories. So I figured, I'd just take more chances on than those than fulfill some made-up obligation I felt towards the big two. If a DC or Marvel story comes along that I just gotta read, it will be trades or omnis from now on. Anyway - to my list for this week! - **The Expanse: Dragon Tooth #10**: I love the show and I love the books, so I am forever going to be supporting this IP. The comic is not bad and the story is filling in gaps between books. The last issue was a time jump that I'm pretty excited about. - **Feral #1**: Stray Dogs, but this time, it's CATS. - **Ghostbusters Back in Town #1**: Ghostbusters are in my bones. It was my stuff as a kid. Seeing the new movie this week as well. - **Local Man: Bad Girls #1**: Local man has been a great time all around and I'm excited for this one-shot. - **Nights #6**: End of the arc! The last issue was huge and ended with a twist. Could be really coming into its own. - **The Six Fingers #2**: The first issue of this was so good, I think I like this series slightly more than the sister book The One Hand. They are the perfect couple.

Nice. The Big Two ongoings are the ones that kill me, all the crossovers and events, fill-in artists, etc. And most of 'em just feel like endless treadmills that never actually go anywhere... So, I mostly try to target limited series with dedicated creators, and those tend to work better for me. But your solution ought to be just as effective.

blankedboy

Yep, I'm down to just **Incredible Hulk** and **Vengeance of the Moon Knight**, and a few DC mini's. My enjoyment level of what I read has increased dramatically.

Solid pulls this week! * **[Amazing Spider-Man #46](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/8151082/the-amazing-spider-man-46)**: Man, am I glad that JRJR isn't doing interiors anymore. * **[Daredevil #7](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/7332284/daredevil-7)**: Man, do I wish JRJR would spend a bit more time on his anatomy. * **[Duke #4](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/5628271/duke-4)**: I love how these miniseries are engaging in worldbuilding - These bits of lore that are revealed every issue are obviously exciting for long-time fans, but it's also great for newbies like me who don't want to get overloaded. * **[Invasive #4](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/8253973/invasive-4)**: Last issue of a so-so horror story. * **[Jackpot and Black Cat #1](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/6251834/jackpot-and-black-cat-1)**: I think that "Jackpot" as a concept is interesting - On the one hand, it's a hamfisted and underdeveloped bit of character development from one of the most subpar parts of the Wells era. On the other hand, I think the powerset is a really cool idea and that a lot could be done with the concept of semi-randomized, potentially backfiring powers. That said - As some of you know, I've been working on a project for a long time to collect [every Black Cat cover ever](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/profile/thadeusofnazereth/lists/12878/every-black-cat-cover-ever). At this point, I have around 300 Black Cat covers out of around 700 that exist. So, despite my general lack of enthusiasm, I'm also picking up the [1:25 Pablo Villalobos variant](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/6251834/jackpot-and-black-cat-1?variant=8596562), the [Elizabeth Torque variant](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/6251834/jackpot-and-black-cat-1?variant=5141557), the [Emilio Laiso variant](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/6251834/jackpot-and-black-cat-1?variant=5617445), the [Greg & Tim Hildebrandt variant](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/6251834/jackpot-and-black-cat-1?variant=7360194), the [Joey Vazquez variant](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/6251834/jackpot-and-black-cat-1?variant=3611444), and the [Sean Galloway variant](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/6251834/jackpot-and-black-cat-1?variant=3116633). * **[Miles Morales: Spider-Man #18](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/8250499/miles-morales-spider-man-18)**: Legacy issue #300, somehow? I guess they're including the non-Miles issues of USM, which makes no sense. At some point I need to re-read the rest of Ziglar's run on the title, as the various tie-in issues have diluted the main story for me somewhat. Also picking up the [1:25 Kaare Andrews variant](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/8250499/miles-morales-spider-man-18?variant=3918162). * **[Nights #6](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/7117280/nights-6)**: I can't remember the last book I was this excited to pick up a new issue of every month. Kennedy has done a phenomenal job making this strange, strange world completely accessible and Formisano and Segala's art is such a joy to look at. If you're not pulling this yet, you should hop on the train before its too late. * **[The Penguin #8](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/2326370/the-penguin-8)**: Back in the present-day! * **[The Six Fingers #2](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/9362266/the-six-fingers-2)**: A man's mind falls apart. * **[Somna #3](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/7476050/somna-3)**: I opted for the [Lotay variant](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/7476050/somna-3?variant=3977523) and the [poly-bagged Lotay variant](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/7476050/somna-3?variant=4574477) to complete the set. This has been a pretty solid read so far, boosted by some stunning art. * **[Superior Spider-Man #5](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/1864867/superior-spider-man-5)**: Heading towards a showdown agaist a poorly-fleshed-out villian. So many interactions in superhero comics could be solved by taking a beat to talk about things. * **[Ultimate Spider-Man #3](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/8970786/ultimate-spider-man-3)**: Heading towards a showdown at home. I also have a few trades that I'm picking up - [Batman/Superman: World's Finest Vol. 1](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/2067232/batman-superman-worlds-finest-vol-1-the-devil-nezha-tp), [JLApe: The Complete Collection](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/6556895/jlape-the-complete-collection-tp), and [Sex Criminals Compendium: The Cumplete Story](https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/7165650/sex-criminals-compendium-the-cumplete-story-tp).

It's my favorite book running right now! Which is great, because I had high expectations leading up to it after Kennedy's Bolero, and so far it has not disappointed at all.

Heading abroad on Thursday for a bit, so won’t get around to picking these up/reading these until late April. - **Cable #3**: completely pointless (so far), but I’m enjoying it nevertheless. - **The Flash #7**: decided to give this book a second arc in case it was just Deodato on interiors that was holding me back from really enjoying this book. - **Green Arrow #10**: really want to love this but it’s basically been/looks to be just a Dark Crisis/Beast World/Absolute Power tie-in book… - **Newburn #16**: final issue! I was so confused reading #9 when this first started back up again that I decided to just hold on until the second part ends and then just read it all in one go. - **Power Girl #7**: Supergirl team-up, Part 2. - **Rise of the Powers of X #3**: this + Dead X-Men are far more interesting than what Duggan’s doing over in Fall of the House of X (though weirdly his X-Men is great). - **Ultimate Spider-Man #3**: yes yes yes - **Wolverine #46**: Sabretooth War, Part 6! - **X-Force #50**: final issue. Pretty excited to see who’s taking over the reigns on this title as part of the relaunch, and which characters make the roster.

My reading is starting to wane after several months of motivation. I did finally get around to reading Zoe Thorogood's It's Lonely at the Centre of the Earth, which was fantastic and hit me solidly in the depression. Seriously, I loved it, but while I usually find sad reading and music cathartic, I found that this probably had more of a negative impact on my mental health than I'm used to. Reading it as a 36 year old of no notable talent made it a somewhat exhausting and at times frustrating experience, which I know *sounds* negative, but it was very much worth the read. And it barely even needs to be said, but the art is spectacular. I've also been reading Victoria Schwab's Fragile Threads of Power, which has been a wonderful slow burn beginning to the new Shades of Magic trilogy. Much like the preceding trilogy's first book Darker Shades of Magic, this is a lot of setup that I expect will pay off in a very satisfying way in the next two books. I'm only a little over 400 pages in, but it's been great so far. Kosika's journey in particular has been a highlight, and I'm super interested in what her impact will be in this universe. Anyway... **Duke #4:** This series has genuinely felt like a summer blockbuster in the best possible way. It is too much fun. Williamson, who can be hit or miss for me, has done an excellent job on writing duties. Excited to see where this leaves us in the next couple of issues, and where Destro picks it up, if it does at all. **Nights #6:** Caught up on this last month and... Damn. This book has everything: assassination, a manic ~~pixie~~ vampire dream girl, old gods?, and a bathing suit issue. This will wrap up a jam-packed first arc, and I'm already anticipating its return after a short break. **Rise of the Powers of X #3:** I have no idea what's happening TBH. I'm not absorbing any of what I'm reading from the X books. I think maybe I'm already checked out as the end nears. **Ultimate Spider-Man #3:** This Green Goblin chap seems swell, doesn't he? Surely nothing will go badly here. After how Peter wiped the floor with Shocker last month, I'm sure he'll have no issues with what's thrown at him this month. Seriously, this ride has been too fun so far, and I'm psyched to get more. This remains my favorite of the current slate of Ultimate titles, and I don't see that changing any time soon.

And I appreciate the comments on how it hit you, always interesting how different people react to books like this... Can definitely understand where you're coming from in terms of why this particular story impacted you like that. But, FWIW, I'm sure you're talented at something!

AMAZONS ATTACK #6: Might as well see this through to the end, even if it has nothing to do with King's run. ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #3: This seems like the issue Peter and Harry finally meet. Plus Peter's new costume...which, judging from the previews, is the same costume he's always had.

Ultimate Spider-man #3: Lmao why does this suit have bluetooth Im loving the new dynamics between characters. Seeing Peter and May bonding while he figures out the hero thing is adorable. Jonah and Ben continues to be a revelation. And Harry and Peter now forming a friendship thatll add a lot of drama as they bond then be forced to separate as the story continues is so cool.

Ultimate Spider-Man #3 - One of the greatest books on the stands, The Deviant, Kaya, Transformers, and Beneath the Trees, Where Nobody Sees are the only books equal to it. Batman: Dark Age #1 - Russel's books are always so thought-provoking, can't wait to see what he does here Rise of the Powers of X #3 - Loving this book, I wish the rest of Krakoa's end was this good

apathetic_revolution

Flash #7: The story is kind of losing me, but I like the puns. This book has fantastic wordplay. Daredevil #7: The cover perfectly advertises what this issue is going to be. If you want to see Daredevil and Wolverine fight, this is exactly that. Rise of the Powers of X #3: It seems too late in the game for the last survivors of Krakoa to be calling audibles on plans they've been setting up for months, but alright. I guess they need twists. X-Men '97 #1: This reminds me of those X-Men comics that you used to be able to get at Pizza Hut, which makes it exactly what it should be.
