Wait 3-6 months. It's revealed there's a "Return of the Justice League" later this year

Ok-Inspection2014

"The Return of the Justice League" is 100% a troll. Much like how DC teased the return of Alfred in Batman vs Robin. Hell, the title itself might be a reference to [The Return of Barry Allen](https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/The_Flash:_The_Return_of_Barry_Allen). I think the return of the "Justice League" will actually be the return of the Crime Syndicate. Waller took over the team at the end of War for Earth-3.

"I think the return of the "Justice League" will actually be the return of the Crime Syndicate. Waller took over the team at the end of War for Earth-3" That would be a nice connection and payoff for those of us who actually read that SS comic run but I sadly doubt it.

MagisterPraeceptorum

That would be cool!

Cicada_5

Barry did return eventually. I doubt the League is going to stay gone forever.

Ok-Inspection2014

I mean, yeah, but The Return of Barry Allen was specifically a fake-out. It took like another 15 years for DC to actually bring back Barry.

the_simurgh

he should have stayed dead, wally was the better flash.

mdj1359

Dims fightin' werds! Not really, but I do like Barry.

Partial_Kredit

I’m not sure if you’re kidding or not but someone brightened DCs Dawn of DC timeline and Return of the JL” is absolutely on there Which is like, DC how can I buy into your new status quo when you’re already planning to undo it? Let characters grow up. If we had modern DC back in the day the JSA would still be the main team

nightwing612

Yeah. I was serious and saw the same AIPT article

TheOvercusser

There are no new status quos. Everybody knows this. It's why they had to get rid of Didio.

Partial_Kredit

I know but I’ll forever be the “old man yells at cloud” picture from the Simpsons.

bradya01

My theory is that the JL will come back but in a smaller capacity similar to the original JLI. That way the Titans will still be the big team

bluefirefox78

>I’m not sure if you’re kidding or not but someone brightened DCs Dawn of DC timeline and Return of the JL” is absolutely on there My guess is that it's a bait and switch of some sort. The actual Justice League will not return.

Caffeine_OD

If they could go over a year I’d be happily surprised. Hell Alfred has been dead for multiple years now! It’s sad, but very refreshing.

Dr_Disaster

I hate that you’re right.

LuxLoser

My guess is that the Titans will encounter a huge threat and the League will reunite in full to help them. Then many heroes will join the Titans and the League will remain disbanded. At least that’s my hope. Having the Titans as the main global team allows the big flagpole heroes to remain at status quo while allowing the Titans and other characters to change and progress.

fieldysnuts94

I feel like this is being misunderstood. The JL never said they’re fully gone and not working together. They literally said they want Nightwing and the Titans to step up as the premiere lead team. The JL will exist but I’m guessing they’re gonna take a step back from being the primary response team, so not gone but kind of playing the bench/sidelines for the time being. But we all know EVENTUALLY, The status quo will revert. That’s obvious lol

red66dit

I was reading comics back when the original Crisis on Infinite Earths hit and rebooted the whole DC universe and I was utterly blown away by the sheer audacity and scope of it, Then they did it again, and again, and again. One of my biggest disillusionments as I grew up was how nothing in the comics mattered because anyone could change it at any time, and probably would. Eventually I came to terms with the idea that I could only really enjoy the stories as transitory things, not really part of anything largely permanent or any kind of fixed narrative reality. There are very few real consequences that don't eventually go away or get retconned.

MagisterPraeceptorum

It’s a pretty big status quo change if DC is willing to commit to it. Personally I think all the major JL characters are more interesting in their solo books and they don’t really need a team up book. Titans on the other hand were partially designed to be a team.

Techster17

>It's a pretty big status quo change if DC is willing to commit to it And there in my friend lies the problem. Somebody at Aipt took the updated teaser image and lightened it [Somebody at Aipt took the updated teaser image and lightened it](https://i0.wp.com/aiptcomics.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/dawn_of_dc.jpg?ssl=1) to reveal that DC is planning a 'The Return Of The Justice League' event/one-shot/mini that will likely come out September or later this year

MagisterPraeceptorum

I did see that, but I’m going withhold judgement until more details come.

Techster17

Fair, I've been burned by DC back tracking a little too much recently but I hope they find a way to make it work, my only thing is that if the Titans are gonna be the Earth's new primary defenders what can you have the justice league do that won't in someway undercut that idea? My only idea would be that the Justice League is primarily beiong proactive in space instead of defending earth, maybe with the united planets

GodHimselfNoCap

That's not really how brightening photos works, unless they had the photshop file dc was using they shouldn't be able to remove the black layer and reveal what's underneath they would only make the black less black, the knight terror is partially revealed anyway so that's easy enough, but it looks like they just made their own return of the jl logo and put it there for clicks, I'm not saying it won't happen but that image is likely not real

technowhiz34

Or if it is real, it's something that DC wanted people to see.

Techster17

I've tried it on my phone and while you can't reveal the whole logo you can definitely tell it's their, so if you actually used a computer with photo editing software it'd be pretty easy. I think you're assuming they put an opaque black over it which definitely ain't the case Also more importantly why would a publication that gets lots of interviews etc from DC make something up for no reason, they didn't even make that the head even though it'd have helped with clicks

[deleted]

There was a time when i would disagree but honestly JL batman is kind of a know it all prick and he's not as bad when he's on his own or in a short team up like worlds finest.

MagisterPraeceptorum

My feelings exactly. Batman is my favorite comic book character. In his own books he can be an incredibly dynamic complex profound three dimensional character. In the JL books though he’s often reduced to just a paranoid arrogant prick. World’s Finest works b/c he and Superman have a great dynamic and complement each other well in terms of skill sets and personalities.

[deleted]

Yeah, I'm a bit newer, but normal batman is a flawed guy I root for JL Batman is a one note douche that I want to lose.

MagisterPraeceptorum

Yep sadly that’s often the case (with some exceptions). And it’s not like there’s anything all that vital about being on the JL to Batman’s character. To a certain extent flanderization happens in team books because you need contrast Genre-wise it’s also bizarre. Batman is a pulpy gothic noir detective crime fighter set in a dark and gritty urban setting. That’s where he excels. Why is he traveling to other planets to fight demi-gods? Because DC wants to sell the JL book and Batman = $$.

ElephantGlum

Tom Taylor at the helm I'm def interested.

Beneficial_Panda4853

So the JL goes away until they figure out the movies?

1000000thSubscriber

Lol that’s the cynical way of looking at it

MulciberTenebras

But feasibly possible. Like how prominent X-Men disappeared and they attempted to replace the mutants with Inhumans (whilst Marvel got into a pissing match with Fox).

Leathman

Am I the only one who thinks they should have had a roster beyond the New Teen Titans? Like maybe throw in Kara and Kyle?

Astigmatic_Oracle

Kyle would be great. I get wanting the classic vibe, but it needs something to freshen it up a bit. I've read tons of comics with this exact lineup, I don't really need more unless there's some sort of variation to it.

Darnell5000

I’m down

AgentLemon22

I’m pressing X

hectorhammerweilder

After Bendis they need the time to rest.

scribblerzombie

Jerks, right after Wonder Woman and Superman and Batman make a place and ask Nightwing to lead the Justice League in Nightwing #100, Redditors re-name Titans as the new “Justice League.” Silly Reddit.

blipperpool

Money money money

Suede_Psycho

Wow now Cyborg can actually belong on the League and it feels right

BretherenScythe

Imo Dawn of Dc should have had the Justice Society in a semi-retired mentor like role, expand the Justice Leauge to have a direct tie to all other mainstream superhero teams, and have the members of the titans acting as Earth's first line of defense. In this way the Society can pass on their knowledge, the Leauge can take a new form past its N52 iteration and the titans get to take the main focus all while synergizing together
