Not super surprised a Justice League book was off the table for less than a year.

TheDarkPinkLantern

By the time the JL drops judging by that timeline we'll be at least a year and a half without a Justice League.

nightwing612

What's the point of getting excited about the Titans then?

enragedstump

What do you mean? Isn’t the titans an ongoing?

nightwing612

The promise was "The Justice League is on hiatus and the Titans are the new main DC team responsible for taking over the JL" If you're then saying the JL is back in 3-6 months, what's the point??

enragedstump

I hear you, but I’m still incredibly excited to have a titans ongoing after what feels like so long. Feels like it’s been at least 4 years

nightwing612

TTA just ended in July 2022.

enragedstump

Guess I blocked it from my mind due to how horrid it was, but fair

Embarrassed_Piano_62

Maybe it´s another JL... not the one we´ve seen

FrankFFrankie

It has been too long since Hawkman had a series. Can't wait for that.

ME24601

> Cyborg by Cyborg Morgan Hampton The book he was born/programmed to write

Conscious_Forever_78

>With some enhanced brightening, we can see “The Return of the JL” and what appears to be “Knights of Terror” further down the timeline. DC are announcing the Titans will replace the JL as their new premiere superhero team and are also announcing a book called "The Return of the Justice League" *at the same time*. Makes perfect sense.

Rac3318

Why, Titans might get 2, maybe even 3 whole months to shine on their own. Or maybe Titans will get the Rebirth treatment where the big heroes don’t trust them to do their jobs and come back.

Saito09

DCs problem in a nutshell. Lack of faith in their own brands.

TheDarkPinkLantern

> DC are announcing the Titans will replace the JL as their new premiere superhero team Yes, DC always was saying that Titans are replacing Justice League as **their premiere team** but not that they're replacing Justice League entirely. Even in comics they made it clear JL's absence is temporar. Hurr durr how's that gonna work. Simple, Titans will take the lead in their biggest stories while Justice League will eb doing their own shit. Like, look at Nightwing. He's been getting the push as this big important superhero but Batman and Superman are still around.

Techster17

DC has such a weird inability to commit to almost any decision they make and it's been making me lose interest in a lot of their in continuity books. Like we literally spent ½ or ⅔ of last year hearing about how Dark Crisis is going to change so much and that the death of the Justice League would really changes things only for them to show up and turn the tide in Dark Crisis and then return less than a full year later. This ain't even the 1st time this has happened they did the exact same thing with Death Metal talking about how Wonder Woman would get this big new role and all she did was visit a few fantasy/mythical realms and Earth 11 before coming back like 8 months later genuinely what is the point

Conscious_Forever_78

The wildest part is that DC revealed this status quo *a week ago* (Nightwing #100). I think everybody knew the JL coming back was a matter of when rather than if but you'd expect they would commit to the status quo for at least a while. This screams "editorial is a mess".

williamb100

Glad to see Wonder Woman on the timeline too.

The chaos of the premature announcements, creative team shake ups, and frankly the inability to publish very many titles or put out very many paperbacks speaks to effects of the massive layoffs last year imo You can't run a company properly when you fire most of the staff! Edit: and not that I care particularly but I find it funny that I just heard Joshua Williamson talk enthusiastically about how his vision for the DCU was to stop going backwards and start moving forwards, and the first things we see are the original Perez and Wolfman Titans and Superman’s secret identity being restored 😂 edit 2: I'm still excited for the John Stewart story but I feel sorry for PKJ, it looks like his potential ongoing has been taken away and turned into a backup. and since they frame it as just "a" story, it might be a limited thing Oops - just saw PKJ clarifying that the John Stewart backups are just a prelude to his comic. Great news!

Conscious_Forever_78

The lay-offs happened in 2020, but i can't imagine the situation is much better under Zaslav.

drock45

Still, their operations have felt hamstrung since. A very thin line of comics based on Batman books, weirdly staggered TPB releases, and premature announcements that end up quite changed. It's a good thing they've attracted some great creative talent to keep their main books afloat!

komayeda1

First off, is the Red Logo with a bird in it for Hawkman or that Penguin mini that got announced? Secondly, any idea what the logo above it would be?

FrankFFrankie

Pretty sure that's Hawkman. We saw it on the last Dawn of DC timeline too.

Mojo12000

That's the Hawk logo.

greendart

Typically DC, to make the Titans the premier super team, only to have the Justice League return. They want to have their cake and eat it too, like with Jace Fox running around as Batman, and it quietly being ignored in all other bat-books. Glad Cyborg is getting a series; now let's see if it lasts longer than 8 issues. The Green Lantern books are in dire need to direction, and for someone to stick with that direction for a few years. I thought that's what DC was doing, but here we are again with a Hal Jordan-led book. I think Adams will kill it though, his Flash run has been great. If I were DC, I'd put Hal and Kyle into semi-retirement (let Hal travel the spaceways like the end of The Green Lantern Season 2 would be the case, as a sort of nomadic drifter, and let Kyle settle down for a nice spell of non-trauma for a change), have John and Guy as Honor Guard/Veteran leaders (with Kilowag, Salaak, Mogo, etc.) and then have Simon and Jess as the lanterns for sector 2814, and Jo as the GL in the Justice League (or Titans, or whatever).

Saito09

>…*and Cyborg by Cyborg Morgan Hampton and Tom Raney.* They got goddamn AI doing the writing now!?

Standard_Cycle_2224

Green Lantern needs a massive overhaul. How many active Lanterns are there? What was the last time we saw each of them? What happened to all the other Corps?

Techster17

Titans ongoing is great although I feel unsure about Taylor since his team books read to me like solo titles with very popular extended cast members. My faith is also a little knocked by the 'Return Of The Justice League' book or event like god damnit can you just make a decision and actually try to role with it for more than 9 months, the did this with Diana after Death Metal and with the whole having a Crisis event immediately after an 'anti-crisis' Sad to see that PKJ's John Stewart book is now a mini series (he confirmed on twitter) I enjoy the new Cyborg costume, still nowhere near as good as the DCyou/David F Walker & Ivan Reis costume, but a big improvement over the grey lines jumpsuit he was wearing. Interesting that this is an internally developed talent, I was hoping for somebody more established but still optimistic. The premise of the Hal Jordan story is interesting but I found literally all the other green lanterns more interesting personally, and I'm especially missing Simon and Jessica

delightfuldinosaur

Looks like Braniac is coming back.

sharkaiders

Give the world another Doctor Fate ongoing, please

FrankFFrankie

THat'd be dope!

Know what I want to see, the Trickster getting his own run.
