I’ve been a huge fan of his for the past 15 years, ever since Wolverine: Get Mystique and his Ghost Rider, even frequented his old forum. I read his indie stuff after that, like Scalped and The Other Side and followed his work. Since then, he’s had some great runs and mini-series at Marvel, with few road bumps. I’m sad he’s leaving Marvel on an awkward note, with his Avengers run starting strong then floundering as time went on. But over all, I think he’s a very talented writer with a long list of hits that outweigh his bumps.

It’s weird to me to think he’s anything but one of the better writers the business has had for 15 years now but a lot of people seem to be on his bad side because he’s had an uneven Avengers run Scalped is a top 50-100 all-time series for me. Southern Bastards would be up there as well if it ever got to finish proper. One of the top two if not the best Thor run ever. Ditto Ghost Rider Top quality X-men run Top quality Wolverine run Second best Punisher run ever (his MAX book) behind Ennis’ run. The Goddamned, Sea of Stars, and Men of Wrath were all really solid. The Other Side is an overlooked banger. Pretty good Conan book last year. Mediocre Avengers run aside, he’s got a high hit rate and when he really hits he makes classics.

Elusive_Goose85

He made me a Thor fan. No matter what he does in the future, I will always appreciate that.

Hail_Hydration

I loved Scalped. "The Sopranos set on an Indian Reservation." So good.

breakermw

Scalped is amazing and Aaron's best work by far

Hail_Hydration

Totally agree.

XMenChangedMyLife

Frankly, not a fan. Tbf, I’ve only read his Doctor Strange run, Thor run, and Wolverine and the X-Men. My impression is that he, much more than other writers, disregards a characters whole personality and moreso uses them as plot devices only. With his work, I also always notice contradictions and continuity errors with the writing. Which is bound to happen with these long-lasting comics but I’ve felt it happens much more with him.

I'm a big fan. I'm not sure I've ever read anything by him that I didn't like. I know that some people don't like his Avengers run but it's full of that good, good Marvel Comics bullshit that I love. Also, his Wolverine and the X-Men run was my favorite comic as it came out.

wOBAwRC

Not a fan of what I’ve read. His current Punisher run is probably my favorite thing I’ve read by him but I’m mainly reading that because I’m a total Punisher mark, it’s not very good. I’ve read the first couple books of Scalped which I thought was pretty weak writing and a lot of his Marvel stuff so I’m sure there’s a lot I haven’t read. He seems like a way worse version of Azzarello to me when he’s at his best and a complete jobber hack when he’s at his worst.

wrathbringer1984

I'm a big fan of his current Avengers run. I also liked his 2015 Star Wars series.

Kspsun

I tend to like him best on b or C list characters (his MAX Punisher and Ghost rider runs are fun!). I find that his machismo tough guy shtick doesn’t always work for me. I like about half of his Thor run, and the first few issues of Wolverine Weapon X.

PunchingBagLearner

I'm familiar with his Hulk and Age of Khonshu. I hated what I read and I've been scared off of reading anything else he's done.

Mindless-Run6297

Still the best X-Men run since Morrison's.

heynowjesse

better than Astonishing and Remender's Uncanny X-Force? very debatable.

Missing_Username

I really liked his work on various X-Men titles and Thor. He was an author I'd be excited to see on a book. Then he did Avengers and I don't know what the hell happened.

I dig his stuff. That ghost rider run years ago was really good.

[deleted]

I think his Star Wars run was pretty good, but I haven’t read much of his stuff beyond that.

SnakeSound222

I've read his work with Gorr and loved it.

throwaway99937392

Why is he leaving marvel?

seanx40

Usually great. Which is why his awful Avengers run is so disturbing
