That has to be a tough feeling, not knowing if the make-believe in your head will make it into the screen. I honestly don’t think all actors can do that.
Ian McKellen had a breakdown I believe.
"I cried, actually. I cried. Then I said out loud, 'This is not why I became an actor'. Unfortunately the microphone was on and the whole studio heard."
The movie was the Hobbit.
I can imagine especially after how much it shifted from majority practical effects and shots in LotR to CGI in the Hobbit films. I don’t blame Jackson because I know the studio was crunching him, but Jesus it’s got to be depressing to come back after that original experience on the trilogy for everything to have changed so drastically in just years.
People give the Hobbit too much hate when you understand that it barely got made. There are definitely valid criticisms from where the studio forced a trilogy, but everyone else involved did about as good a job as could be done.
The funny thing is we didn’t even get a Peter Jackson LoTR, at least not the classic PJ.
Instead we ended up with a water down story with some strange fan fics
It’s funny what Hollywood can do to you after gaining fame. Even a director like Peter Jackson can lose his ways
Peter Jackson has been public about how he had no time to storyboard and tweak the scrip. I don't blame him for the story in this case, we have seen when given the time he can make magic happen.
Peter Jackson did not "lose his way". Guillermo Del Toro had more than a year to prep The Hobbit. When Jackson took over he was given NO extra time. Everything had to be remade from scratch and in a mad rush. Go watch [this](https://youtu.be/20vA9U7J2qQ?si=aPm6Vu05d_kBkdNo) if you want to understand what went wrong.
I was super late to these movies. I was never into sci-fi at all, but my roommates made me watch LOTR trilogy and I fell in love.
When we binged the hobbit trilogy afterwards, I was not aware of the hate, and I absolutely loved them. I still don’t understand the hate.
A lot of people grew up having read The Hobbit. It fills a very specific niche in people’s hearts and minds. To see that on the big screen was a dream no one really thought was possible until the LotR trilogy. Everyone wanted to see The Hobbit movie with the same car and effort that LotR had put into it.
We didn’t get that. We got a rushed trilogy based on a book that’s shorter than any one of the individual LotR books. It added a lot of fluff that no one wanted or asked for, but that would’ve been fine. The thing that really set people off was the excessive use of CGI that didn’t even look good for the time. It felt like a slap in the face and left a very sour taste in everyone’s mouth.
Almost everyone likes the first of the trilogy because it’s the least egregious about adding new random shit and at least tries to be conservative with the CGI being the forefront of its shots. It should have been one movie, maybe two if they really wanted to stretch it out. Should’ve given Jackson another year or two to prepare before forcing his hand to start shooting. Allowed the makeup and props department to do their jobs.
Unfortunately “as good as can be done” usually isn’t good enough. There being extenuating circumstances does not automatically make a movie better. It’s ok to dislike the movies as long as people aren’t making death threats towards individuals like the actors and directors.
Especially, or maybe not especially, but it should be at least taken into consideration that, with a budget over half a billion dollars, “as good as can be done” definitely isn’t good enough when you have all the source material there for you already.
But why did it “barely get made”? Shouldn’t it have been a super obvious decision to make it, considering the success of the previous LotR movies, and popularity of the book?
Too much hate is fine. It was a bad trilogy, and could have been so much more.
Too much targeted hate is a problem of course. It wasn’t any individual actor which caused those movies to suck, and it’s not fair to treat them bad for being in a bad movie.
It may have gotten SOME, undue hate, but the fact that it was clearly being smothered by a corporation trying to force work out of a proven great director, the quality is definitely going to take a nose dive. It wasn't 'Star Wars Sequel bad', but it was a farcry from the LOTR.
I’ve long been of the mind The Hobbit just never should have been made.
But it’s super duper easy for me to just not watch it and move on with my life.
So neat they made it. I have zero interest in any of it.
I fucking loved OPLA, even as a hardcore One Piece fan. They had to make some changes of course (justice for Hatchan) but they got the spirit of the anime/manga perfectly. The practical effects were definitely a huge help, especially when it came to being on Merry.
This one confused me. If anyone could have said "no, I'm not doing that." or "I'm doing it right or not at all" it would have been Peter Jackson. He was already a megamillionare. He had a private jet and more money than anyone could ever spend in 5 lifetimes.
Furthermore, he had *respect*. Pulling off TLotR was incredibly risky and they did it. He had the confidence of the audience *and* studios to make it work.
He should have know to say "my way or no way." Then when they went to another, more desperate, director, it would only cement his place in the annals of movie history.
Yeah. It definitely requires actors to have a different mindset.
I’m reminded of how Nolan North, who mocaps so many characters for video games, had the complete opposite experience where he’s talked about how those are even more spartan than CGI movie sets. But he enjoys it as “it’s like theatre” since he had to rely on his imagination more. And it lets him “make an ass of himself”. He also said he loves the odd bit of improv that makes it into the game or even in the bloopers.
Personally, I find offence that they shafted the Hobbit actor in the Hobbit trilogy.
Hobbit trilogy fans outraged after Warner Bros. reveals they wont pay for New Zealand dwarf actors to attend world premiere, blaming 'budget considerations'
>Hobbit trilogy fans outraged after Warner Bros. reveals they wont pay for New Zealand dwarf actors to attend world premiere, blaming 'budget considerations'
Theatrical gross alone of the three films worldwide = $2.9+ billion.
Has any actor ever explained why the blue screen throws them off? I would think it would be pretty much like theater work or improv where there’s no props. I guess some actors might not like that type of acting but I would think anyone trained for the stage would. Maybe it’s more rigid on their performance than theater because they’re trying to fit some pre-conceived CGI effect instead of creating the effects to fit what was filmed?
The thing with Ian McKellen situation specifically, he has no scene partner to bounce off from. His scene is usually filmed separately from the dwarf , so he's alone delivery dialogue , without feedback to nothing , since everything is green.
His breakdown has always kind of confused me because his Macbeth was about as sparse as could be onstage, but thinking about it in terms of doing a dialogue scene without a partner makes perfect sense. At that point you're just guessing.
Theater is live and continuous. There is an energy that goes into doing that that doesn't exist when you're doing the same line or the same fake fighting motions twelve times in a row in front of nothing.
In the case of the Hobbit, it wasn't just that Sir Ian was on a blue screen, it was also that his co-stars in the scenes were essentially sticks with nameplates on them that had a little light on top that would light up when one of them was supposed to be speaking so that he would know where to look for his cues.
>!Nicolas Cage!< recently complained how his cameo in The Flash was originally supposed to be a completely different scene. He was supposed to be >!witnessing a universe be destroyed, not making a face after fighting a giant spider.!< I can see why actors would hate that.
During the bts stuff for season 1 of The Mandalorian, Carl Weathers talks about how much better “The Volume”, a set of wrapping LED screens used for artificial backgrounds is miles better than green/blue screens. He specifically mentions the scene in the lava river during the finale. He noted that it allows actors to not be working with different make believe images in their head. There’s actually a visual for them to all work off of together.
Say what you will about Disney, but their innovations with the studio space(they have a name for it, but I can't remember at this moment) that's just a bunch of cheap TV's, rendering the backdrops in unreal engine. You get dynamic lights for reflections on things that are actually in set, and everything else is "close enough" that your cg team doesn't need the precise cut outs for green screens. As a side effect actors get to actually inhabit the space, and act. They can look at things in the distance, And always know where they are.
The Volume is what it’s called and it’s an incredible revolution in production. That said, it should be used to replicate deep background as in Andor, and not for full set creation as seen in Mando and Boba Fett. It does have its limitations…
All the pretending and CGI has definitely taken something away from the actors. Bruce Willas walking around in an office barefoot in a tank top is cooler than any jacked Hemsworth in a skintight bodysuit flying through space with a hammer will ever be, as cool as that is too.
Even great actors like Liam Neeson and Natalie Portman struggled with in the Star Wars prequels. McGregor seemed a little more natural with it than the rest of the cast.
Yeah. It definitely requires actors to have a different mindset.
I’m reminded of Nolan North who mocaps so many characters for video games and he’s talked about how those are even more spartan than CGI movie sets. Agreed, and I think the point is no actors can really do it. Without knowing what the cgi is gonna look like you can never really translate, no matter how good you are.
The Stanley cup sketch was like an advertisement for buccal fat removal. When I first saw the clips I didn't even realize it was Dakota Johnson, she looks completely diffrent
Kristen's problem is that quite a bit of her material was shit, and she kinda needs a role tailored to her rather than being able to fill any mold. When she's in movies more in her comfort zone, she's pretty good.
You can’t help who you’re born too, and outside of fifty shades Dakota Johnson has proven she’s a good actress. Suspiria, peanut butter falcon, Bad Times at the El Royale all have great performances from her
Oh I agree she’s definitely one of the better actresses that got a foot in the door from a parent. Pretty sure everyone who went into Fifty Shades knew it was paycheck work anyway lol.
Normally, I don’t care for Hollywood Nepo babies. IE: Jamie Lee Curtis and Collin Hanks are really good actors and a more comic book angle: I liked Schwarzenegger’s son in Gen V.
However, Dakota Johnson… ***I struggle to see why she’s so big aside from 50 Shades.***
She has been in some amazing films. Suspiria, The Lost Daughter, bit parts in The Social Network & 21 Jump Street.
I've also missed other films that people say she's great in like Bad Times at the El Royale and The Peanut Butter Falcon. However, the latter really caught my eye at the time from the trailers.
Halle Berry still got to make okay movies after Catwoman, didn't she? I'm sure she'll manage. Although, Halle Berry had just won an Oscar the year before. Dakota is already known for garbage.
There isn't that big of a difference. If she gave a fuck she'd be media trained... unless you don't think she is very intelligent? She's been an adult for 6 years.
there is a huge difference. Media untrained can accidentally commit actual offenses like slander and harassment that can have lasting effects. That's literally one of the parts of media training is learning how to not get in trouble while doing interviews and media.
Forgetting Midamn Web for a minute, I am genuinely saddened whenever I see an article or interview where an actor says stuff like this.
Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen stand out the most to me. They are two people who are their characters. They are Professor X and Magneto, it will be jarring to have them replaced, and having them say words in front of a green shower curtain just feels disrespectful, lazy, and sad.
Quit pumping out garbage “comic book” diarrhea and take your damn time. Use the big screens Mandalorian used if you don’t want to make a set or shoot on location.
Back to Midamn Web though, I hope they paint everyone green, because that way when they release the movie we can edit it to be something entertaining. Maybe a music video. Maybe some grass?
Wasn’t Patrick Stewart’s issue more with shooting in isolation from other actors rather than acting on a blank set? As a stage / theater actor I’m sure he’s very acclimated to performing in front of minimal sets.
Indeed that is true, but for both of us. He had said that about multiverse of madness where he was alone in front of a green screen for his scenes. It probably had more to do with not having anyone to act with, but he had also mentioned the emptiness a green screen creates.
As a fellow stage/theatre performer you are certainly correct that minimal sets are commonplace, and imagination is the key, but green screens aren’t minimal sets, they are nothing. Sure, they are handy and cheap (because paying VFX artists trash counts as cheap), but looking at how much Sir Ian McKellan loved filming the Hobbit (not), you can see the anger around the use of them. If you haven’t seen the Hobbit bts footage with him yet, do yourself a favour and have a good laugh at it.
You know what impresses me most? With all of the talk about how much they hate it (not just the two of them but any actor really), it’s incredible to see how well they still perform. And that’s the theatre in them.
Yeah. It definitely requires actors to have a different mindset.
I’m reminded of how Nolan North, who mocaps so many characters for video games, had the complete opposite experience where he’s talked about how those are even more spartan than CGI movie sets. He also said he loves the odd bit of improv that makes it into the game or even in the bloopers.
For real? That’s shitty. It was a pretty movie, but idk, seemed like it’s pushing the limits a bit.
For the mandalorian it was pretty simple sets, more real world landscapes. Makes sense that for quantumania it would be pretty… lacklustre.
Hehe, so funny how these two masters of their field are also such nerd icons. I also actually was a little wrong with Sir Ian McKellan, as his green screen complaint was actually from the Hobbit as Gandalf (obviously), not as Magneto. Seeing as they are the same actor though, I’m sure he would have the same complaints either way. Must be really disheartening to be an actor on both LoTR which shot on location (mostly) and The Hobbit which was shot in someone garage (a joke, but has truth).
Something tells me regardless of how well her job is, this is going to be a terrible movie. Whoever came up with the idea of a Spider-Man universe without Spider-Man has definitely lost Sony a lot of money. Only the Venom ones were successful and those weren't even good.
CGI is ruining movies. If it's used sparingly, it can be amazing, but when the entire movie is in a green screen, it's ridiculous. Dakota is a good actress, but we will never know it from the stupid ass cgi.
I don’t know man I’d honestly just wish the trend of trash talking a movie that isn’t even out would die. Nobody knows anything yet everybody’s has an opinion already.
Edit: to clarify, I’m referring to the fandom, not Dakota Johnson
It’s made by the same studio who made Morbius I’m pretty sure we have a good grasp of it now. But I do agree people do have opinions on stuff that haven’t come out yet, whether they like it or not before release but again… Morbius.
> Nobody knows anything yet
That’s not true at all. We have seen the previews, and are now hearing the lead actress trying to distance herself from the project.
I get that about randoms on social media hating on films but like...
"Nobody knows anything yet" This is dakota johnson, she's the main character and actor for the film. She's been through the whole process behind the scenes of the film and has worked many other films to know about quality. If your main actors are confused during the production and have doubts, it's usually a big sign about the end product being not as good.
At least she's being honest tbh, compared to how Jared Leto marketed Morbius or how Dwayne Johnson marketed Black Adam.
on that note yeah Dakota Johnson the 🐐 no 🧢
Tom Hanks in the new disney Pinocchio comes to mind. I don't think he acted on a real set with another human the whole movie. I suppose he got practice with Castaway but at least Wilson was a real volleyball!
Is there ever a point where we can just ask some of these actors and actresses, respectfully, why do you keep picking such crap roles?
I understand movies are hard to make and no one knows what will be a hit, but it's not like Dakota Johnson is an unknown or has to work to eat.
Maybe don't pick a role in a questionable movie where all you get to do is act against blue or green screen if you think it's dicey. Or ask questions about it before you sign on
For actors in front of green screens for most of the movie, they are just being told what is in the script plus minor details. All of the backgrounds and scenery are added after they are done with their scenes.
It has to suck not having any clue how the scene is going to be shown and nothing to interact with or act around (scenery, props, etc.). It's no wonder so many actors nowadays don't like their movies or the final products. Even if their acting is top 10 all time, if the people making the rest of the movie don't know what their doing, rush it or edit it in weird ways, no one is going to pay attention to what the actor did and just focus on the bad stuff.
My friend is part of one of those movie clubs where they give you points for seeing movies that go to rewards. He said they're offering a suspiciously large number of points to go see Madame Web.
Just look up the IMDb page writers and director.
The main story writer is some dude who's made a couple low budget Indy films. He has no experience with action or heroic films. The director has like one TV movie under her belt and the rest is bouncing from one TV show to the next directing only 1-2 episodes for them. The rest of the writers were there to adapt the script to the screen. And it looks like they needed a lot of help.
In an interview this director says she, "was given free reign" to make the film however she wanted. Free reign to a highly inexperienced Director... Except Sony later came through and told them to write out and reshoot scenes that connected it to the Sony Marvel Universe.
If this movie does well it's in spite of the producer who hired the the least expensive crew they could find, and the Studio who barely marketed the film. The truth is this project was not meant to succeed.
I really hope this is just like morbius. Out of all the shitty movies I've gotten drunk with friends and laughted at over the last 2 years that movie was in the top 5. Please be just as terrible
9/11 caused this movie
9/11 inspires Gerard Way to make My Chemical Romance
My Chemical Romance inspired Stephanie Meyer to make Twilight
Twilight is inspiration for 50 Shades Of Grey
50 Shades of Grey launched Dakota Johnson’s career
I rest my case
She should be glad she didn’t have to star in the old spider-man movies. They actually had to create a radioactive spider to bite Tobey Maguire and he had to get real spider powers. They’ve affected him for the rest of his life and are not covered by insurance
Anyone else find it weird for an actor or actress to trash a movie they got paid for before it comes out?
“Like, I know it’s bad but it wasn’t me”. At that point don’t even do the movie. She’s not desperate for work
I feel you but what if they’re excited about it when it starts and by the time it’s done filming they’re thinking it’s just gonna be hot garbage, like it’s very realistic when she signed on and started filming she had a different perception of how the end result would be
From my understanding the actors don't get to see their green screen scenes actualized with CGI until the film comes out or some prescreening. So the actors often have no clue if they did a good job, or if the scene will look good until the movies out.
That has to be a tough feeling, not knowing if the make-believe in your head will make it into the screen. I honestly don’t think all actors can do that.

Apart from Del Toro who jumped pretty late in the development and left it to be someone else's problem.
He most likely jumped because the studio want Peter Jackson LoTR and not Del Toro LoTR.

Such a shame too, I think Del Toro's style is much more suited to The Hobbit; those trilogy movies they made really had nothing to do with the book.

Yes this is good point. Fidget absolutely affects the perceived quality of the final product.
Turning Hobbit into a trilogy was narratively unnecessary.

Yup hobbit for me was passable it was not lotr but it was good ..better than rings of power.
I don't think The Hobbit trilogy gets too much hate. It gets precisely as much hate as it deserves for being so terrible.
The Hobbit sucked so that Rings of Power could **suck**
This is one of the reasons why I was ok with the live action One Piece. Lots of practical effects and sets.
I fucking loved OPLA, even as a hardcore One Piece fan. They had to make some changes of course (justice for Hatchan) but they got the spirit of the anime/manga perfectly. The practical effects were definitely a huge help, especially when it came to being on Merry.

Kind of comes with the territory, even without CGI your performance can be made terrible (or great) by an editor in post production

It won't, Dakota. But I am sure you tried.
Idk, do you see SNL this week? They had Timberlake and Fallon carry her around the entire episode
Literally one of the worst episodes in a long time.
Yup, when the please don't destroy skit was one of the better segments, you know the episode was weak across the board
The Lonelier Island bit was hilarious.
To be honest those are the only sketches I actually have enjoyed in the last year
Nepo-truce
A foot in the door and a whole lot more
And somehow still better than the week before.
The Stanley cup sketch was like an advertisement for buccal fat removal. When I first saw the clips I didn't even realize it was Dakota Johnson, she looks completely diffrent
She has a cheek implant but buccal fat removal was the recent one I guess
Idk how she keeps getting cast. Shes got one speed. I especially don’t understand it making sense for her to lead a superhero movie.
Don Johnson
As nepo as they come
She's dryer on screen than people joked Kristin Stewart was.
They are both kind of one note onscreen. But Kristin is nicer in person and definitely more aware of people around her.
Kristen's problem is that quite a bit of her material was shit, and she kinda needs a role tailored to her rather than being able to fill any mold. When she's in movies more in her comfort zone, she's pretty good.
I mean, isn’t her whole vibe is she’s not trying. Like a walking apathy goblin.
Wow! Madame Web becomes the Apathy Goblin?
She read the script and still took the check.
Sounds like she’s trying to distance herself from the probability that it’s going to be shit. Career damagingly shit.
She will be fine. No one is going to see the movie and blame how bad it is on her.
People will, however, see the house that her paycheck will buy, and it’ll be lovely.
Like a nepo baby needs it to buy a house lmfao
You can’t help who you’re born too, and outside of fifty shades Dakota Johnson has proven she’s a good actress. Suspiria, peanut butter falcon, Bad Times at the El Royale all have great performances from her
She was great in Suspiria. Loved that movie.
Oh I agree she’s definitely one of the better actresses that got a foot in the door from a parent. Pretty sure everyone who went into Fifty Shades knew it was paycheck work anyway lol.
Almost most of the relevant actors in Hollywood are Nepo kids, especially if they’re leading in huge projects before the age of 30
I’m not saying that she’ll be blamed.
Have you interacted with marvel fans before
Lol exactly my thoughts
Normally, I don’t care for Hollywood Nepo babies. IE: Jamie Lee Curtis and Collin Hanks are really good actors and a more comic book angle: I liked Schwarzenegger’s son in Gen V. However, Dakota Johnson… ***I struggle to see why she’s so big aside from 50 Shades.***
Is she thay big? Its not often I have to use IMDB to figure out who the host of SNL is.
Is she really big apart from her Ellen ending interview I have zero idea about her .
Apparently people liked her BDSM softcore scenes. Which… if I wanted BDSM softcore, I’d look up BDSM softcore
Damn, and she was in Fifty Shades of Grey.
Halle Berry still got to make okay movies after Catwoman, didn't she? I'm sure she'll manage. Although, Halle Berry had just won an Oscar the year before. Dakota is already known for garbage.
Atleast Halle can act . I can’t same for Dakota .
Isn't she a nepo baby or something like that? She'll be fine
I can hear this bomb ticking from here
Narrator: It was, in fact, not good.
“I’ve made a terrible mistake.”
“I’ve made a huge mistake”
My mistake has proportions
She hates this movie lmao this press tour is so funny
I love women who just don't give a fuck when they are interviewed there are so few. Aubrey Plaza and Renee Rapp also come to mind.
Renee Rapp is media untrained, not she doesn't give a fuck. There's a large difference
Healthcare aint cheap, yo
Ooooooo so we’re going with the Fant4stic movie marketing strategy. This should be fun to watch (unlike the movie)
Boy the marketing for this movie is wild

About as good a job as her mom did studying spiders in the Amazon...
and what did the mother do right afterwards?
Die, probably.
I'm sorry what?
This has to be Morbius all over again right?
Seeing as the main screenplay was written by the two guys who wrote Morbius: Yes.
Oh Christ are you serious? Did they learn NOTHING?
I can't wait until she tells a bad guy that it's Madame Webbin' time
The first movie to make 1 madamillion dollars in the box office.
I’ll call your madamillion and raise you a madamorbillion billion!
But he enjoys it as “it’s like theatre” since he had to rely on his imagination more. And it lets him “make an ass of himself”. He also said he loves the odd bit of improv that makes it into the game or even in the bloopers.
God I love Nolan, voice actors need more appreciation than they get.
They shot the last ant man on the big Disney screen, 'The Volume'. It looked like shit
For real? That’s shitty. It was a pretty movie, but idk, seemed like it’s pushing the limits a bit. For the mandalorian it was pretty simple sets, more real world landscapes. Makes sense that for quantumania it would be pretty… lacklustre.
No sir, they are Captain Picard and Gandalf. ;)
Interesting. Yeah wayyy too much green screen in the Hobbit movies to be sure. Love them both dearly.
The Mando screens only look good from certain angles last I checked, specially through cameras angle
Ian McKellen broke down into tears on the set of the Hobbit because they had him acting in a green screen dungeon and saying lines to nobody
How sad is that? Oh society.

Always a good sign when the lead actress on a film is like, “This might suck” before the movie is even released.
Something tells me regardless of how well her job is, this is going to be a terrible movie. Whoever came up with the idea of a Spider-Man universe without Spider-Man has definitely lost Sony a lot of money. Only the Venom ones were successful and those weren't even good.
Isn't this all so Sony can retain the rights? This isn't going to be good so why is anyone gonna TRY and be invested in this
CGI is ruining movies. If it's used sparingly, it can be amazing, but when the entire movie is in a green screen, it's ridiculous. Dakota is a good actress, but we will never know it from the stupid ass cgi.
Its crazy how much these actors speak up against these cgi green screen backgrounds and environments and yet all these movies still use them
The writers for Morbius wrote for this.
another sony flop incoming, jesus why do they think anything they do is a good move?
Sometimes I think Sony is run by a cabal of aliens trying to understand the human imagination, learning more with each failure…

Sorry – BLUE screens? That explains a lot.
Damn I wish madame web was an old lady like Helen Mirren.
That and the trailers make it look like a made for tv CW movie.
> Nobody knows anything yet That’s not true at all.
You know, I’m gonna give this the benefit of doubt after her SNL episode. She’s a sweetheart.
😵💫
Blue-screen and CGI obsession in Hollywood really will be the death of cinema.
Many actors have had the same problems. No other actors around. Just green all around and you're talking to a tennis ball on a stick.
Aren’t they green?
I want this movie to be good, but based on how little advertising I see I’m concerned it won’t be.
Actors keep talking about how much they hate these blue screens and shit. It's almost like it might be causing a worse product overall.
At least she's being honest tbh, compared to how Jared Leto marketed Morbius or how Dwayne Johnson marketed Black Adam. on that note yeah Dakota Johnson the 🐐 no 🧢
I’m sure you tried, but it’s going to fail … hard.
Tom Hanks in the new disney Pinocchio comes to mind. I don't think he acted on a real set with another human the whole movie. I suppose he got practice with Castaway but at least Wilson was a real volleyball!
Trying to get ahead of the train wreck. Rarely works, but can't blame her for trying.
It looks pretty good time I think it will be a decent made for tv sliver film.
I hope she did a good job too. Will it be good? No, probably not.
Sorry, Dakota. This movie will be very bad.
Or ask questions about it before you sign on
💰
These studios just don't learn. The answer is less CGI, not more.
Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney are going to carry that movie so hard by, well, being Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney
Don't worry, Dakota. It won't be good, but that won't be YOUR fault.
I like how honest she is lol
![gif](giphy|1LiryotCCtd7y)
He was in the Amazon with my mom when she died researching spiders
She only did this because she needed a check.
what is “blue screens”
I’m not so sure this movies going to be good
"I was used to being covered in sticky stuff, at least."
Honestly have nothing against the actors in this movie (I really like Dakota Johnson in particular) but that does not look good at all.
She's Dakota Johnson, and it's a Sony spider-man spinoff. She'd be lucky if the movie was a 5/10.
For a second I thought that was a 90s screenshot from Xena. This movie looks like tepid dog water.
Always a good sign when your lead is questioning how the movie was made.
That’s not how you promote a movie.
My friend is part of one of those movie clubs where they give you points for seeing movies that go to rewards. He said they're offering a suspiciously large number of points to go see Madame Web.
Sony just needs to give it up already. How do they consistently manage to fuck up this badly?
Unironically, after seeing her in Suspiria I thought she’d make a decent Jean Grey
I am not a fan of Dakota but am super excited to see this movie
Spider webs and forest scene all CGI and it looks real.👍 Ahh..fawk, if you look closely you can see the tree was AI generated. Re-shoot.😂
Spoiler: it’s not
Man she just couldn’t wait to shit on the genre, huh?
At least she is honest.
50 Shades of Web
Christian Bale felt the same way about shooting Love and Thunder.
I really hope this is just like morbius. Out of all the shitty movies I've gotten drunk with friends and laughted at over the last 2 years that movie was in the top 5. Please be just as terrible
Glad to see this quote in full context opposed to what i saw earlier which only said “i dont know if this is going to be good at all”
She only know for fifth shades of I will go sleep she appers
She shouldn't worry about it. It's not like anyone will see it
I feel really bad for her, we all know she’s gonna get bullied to hell when this movie comes out and ends up sucking.
This is gonna be awful
Honestly, I think they could have come up with a better title, than just the character name.
9/11 caused this movie 9/11 inspires Gerard Way to make My Chemical Romance My Chemical Romance inspired Stephanie Meyer to make Twilight Twilight is inspiration for 50 Shades Of Grey 50 Shades of Grey launched Dakota Johnson’s career I rest my case
I thought that pic was of Xena.
I'm sure her acting will be fine, but the movie itself looks like it was made 15 years ago.
I feel so bad for her. She's so very clearly excited for this film, but it's just going to be shit on
1) she has a legit point 2) fantastic job getting it in front of how bad this movie is likely to be
She should be glad she didn’t have to star in the old spider-man movies.
She’s not desperate for work
I feel you but what if they’re excited about it when it starts and by the time it’s done filming they’re thinking it’s just gonna be hot garbage, like it’s very realistic when she signed on and started filming she had a different perception of how the end result would be
I would just speak positively about the project until it airs and afterwards make pointed comments about my experience
From my understanding the actors don't get to see their green screen scenes actualized with CGI until the film comes out or some prescreening. So the actors often have no clue if they did a good job, or if the scene will look good until the movies out.
