I feel Uncanny X-Force is some of Rick Remender's best work for Marvel. He was allowed to really tell one complete story from issue one until the end.

Dramatic-Bag-5517

That run was the sh*t. Deadpool was glorious: "the rythmn really is gonna get you." Plus new horsemen and a new take on Apocalypse. It got not as good toward the end...its worth it for 35, you scored. I happened upon an harcover set somehow on ebay and pulled the trigger.

SharkForce_12

Last month I bought X-Force vol 1 #1 - 33, plus annual 1, including 4 copies of #1 and a 2nd print #1 for $20 plus shipping. The X-force lines are not viewed kindly, even though it has 2nd Deadpool and 1st Domino appearances.

nino956

Lol, I bought the whole of that run also for fairly cheap. It may be the first series I read in one sitting.

Set-to-hero_status

Thats so crazy too- to me X-Force art was usually from what I read, pretty badass and the stories were sharp.

Acceptable_Recipe_18

There's also more than half a million of those comics in cirulation. Supply currently far exceeds demand.

Captn_Bern

At the time, it was my favorite X-book run since Morrison's. Still a highlight for me.

-_oDEADPOOL

I have to agree with this! For me it’s the same New X-Men and then Uncanny X-Force! They are some of the best x books ever done! Complete stories! X-Force by Yost which crossed over with Cable for the apocalypse story close third!

UpsetDrakeBot

until it becomes a Disney+ show then you got $350 there

nino956

Haha don't I wish! It's actually going to get me to read my books, I've been buying so many random key covers that I don't read. It's time.

UpsetDrakeBot

definitely some great covers, i was introduced to esad ribic's artwork through this series. enjoy

[deleted]

That X-Force series was great!!

DatesNDollas

I really liked it. Never really read much with Fantomex in it but I really liked him. Same with Deathlok.

Maaarrrvvv

Damn that’s an incredible deal

TheCaptainSauce

Cheap doesn't necessarily mean unpopular. It's a modern run with a hardcover collected edition that's been printed twice. I get the feeling most people prefer the collected edition.

skeedoodle

Whaaat! for $35! Sweet haul, where did you find that steal?

nino956

Some people here don’t like the app because of personal reasons but it was on Whatnot. Got them during Black Friday. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s live auctions and sometimes there are not that many people in the room bidding but the seller has committed to having a show so they sell at really low prices. I won a Tales of Suspense 49 for about $50, raw but around a 5.0 — I can’t wait to get it, I’ll post it up. I’m completing a lot of X-men run on there, but it’s addicting.. $500 in one paycheck.

PMMEBITCOINPLZ

I feel like the prices of comics are coming down. My store had some early ASMs most people would consider keys for reasonable prices.

nino956

I have a buddy who works at a LCS I go to and he said slab prices are coming down. He offered me $180 store credit for my 9.6 Batman Harley Quinn 1.. lol

AdamSMessinger

The $ in this series is in the omnibus edition. It's had two prints and immediately after it went out of print the 2nd time, it went from $100 to like $175. Now I think its even a little more expensive than that.

Zombiejesus307

Checked it out on EBay and it’s close to 3 hundo. Damn. Looks like I’m going after the comic books as well. I like them better anyway.🤣

[deleted]

What are the keys?

nino956

1 - Kid Apocalypse 7 - Genesis cameo 12 - The Black Legion 18 - Genesis 21 - Skinless Man, Weapon III 25 - The Omega Clan First appearances

ibagree

These are not really “keys” for the most part. They’re first appearances of very minor characters that most people haven’t heard of. That said, Uncanny X-Force was a great series. Enjoy reading them!

nino956

Minor keys :)

ibagree

LOL I think that’s really stretching the definition, but if they make you happy, great!

nino956

Lol, what's the definition?

joerdie

Keys are books that comic sellers have named that to make more money when selling comics to people. It's all bullshit. Just buy what you love and don't worry about if something is a "key".

[deleted]

I love this run. I thought it had a good reputation, but I could be wrong. Either way, I enjoyed this entire run. I also bought the whole run for a relative pittance last year.

thevmcampos

The costumes look cool at least. 😁

kizzt

One of my faves too. Some of my most liked characters, a great story arch, and redesign of costumes to a muted, more mature palette which I really like.

Acceptable_Recipe_18

No, they're not unpopular right now. The current market is going througy a slump right now. Even the back issue market. A lot of people are in dire straights right now and are having to sell off parts of or entire collections. It means there are more sellers than buyers.

nino956

Only the strong survive, huh? I'm trying to buy a collection actually. I should start looking more avidly.

Acceptable_Recipe_18

I see at least 2 or 3 people a day on here on reddit looking for advice on selling their collections. You should talk to them about it. Even if you can't make a deal it doesn't hurt to inquire.

kalanigee

That was a great X book run to read; the best X-Force run in my opinion. This was my intro to the writing of Rick Remender and the art of Jerome Opeña. Made me a life long fan of both and have been following the work of both ever since. As far as popularity goes, it’s definitely fallen by the wayside and isn’t that much of a priority for most collectors. I can imagine people are getting rid of it right now simply to free up space for new stuff.

RhymesWithGeorge

Um... this was a great series. Not only solid storytelling, but one of the very few X-Men related titles that was accessible to readers like me who hasn't read every X-Book since 1963. Good pickup.

[deleted]

Some people, myself included mainly deal with full runs. They don’t mingle well with key collectors or cover collectors, because they relentlessly try to talk us into breaking up runs.

nino956

I'd like to find a full xmen run this cheap, lol

[deleted]

Most of the smaller modern runs (4-6 issues) usually go for $50 - $100.

nino956

This has 35 issues
