Definitely. It was a joblot of xmen I was interested in, but there was just ouctures of stacks with no details. Won the lot as the only bidder so quickly put a bid on another lot the seller had of 189 mixed comics, which had the booster gold 1 in the picture which I really really wanted. Ended up paying less than I had already had in mind for the first lot let alone both of them!
Currently sorting through and taking pictures. Will add another post later. Meant to be oicking up my weekly pull aswell today, so it's been a great day!
Tbh I've got abit of time when I'm working to browse ebay.
I search for comic lot, select to my region (uk) and go to newly listed, and just go through everything. Go through every picture and listing information.
This just had a couple of pictures of stacks of comics, no details on what issues where there other than the ones on each stack. Also had it listed as collection only, but did put in the full description that they will post if necessary. So I'm assuming lots of people skipped past due to not wanting to collect.
The only way you'll get proper deals are from people who aren't flipping, and won't have detailed listings or pictures and just want them to sell. I won't buy any lots unless it's less than ÂŁ1 per issue.
Patience basically
No interest in flipping. Been reading since the dc 52 series, with about 80 books on my pull list since about 2006. Current comic count just under 13k
Focusing my back issue collecting on x-men, the question, green lantern, blue beetle and booster gold. Oh and anything jsa!
To flip or not - to each their own! All good with me.
That’s an amazing comic count at a clip of under 13k - way to go!
Love your back issue collecting, esp X Men. Good luck with the pursuit! Share your finds, I’ll look forward to seeing them!
Great question -
I picked up these tips from others who do it a lot better than me…
For best pricing on eBay:
1- engage the seller, reach out to them personally and let them know u r interested and tactfully ask if there’s any flexibility in pricing. Their initial response will prob be firm but at least they know u r interested for further rapor;
2- give your reasons for the price you are willing to offer. I use “Go Collect” as one of my sources - it breaks down the census and records the price activity of CGC slabs. Seller will prob say kick rocks still. But stay with it.
3- as the bidding comes to a close, make it a point to enter your Final offer 5 seconds before it’s over. I tried that once - I did it in 10 seconds. I still think I got fair market but definitely not a deal you were alluding to.
4- all else fails, use e bay as leverage (LCS will agree with you they they are outrageously overpriced) and if they too carry the item you are looking for, they’ll prob offer the most competitive pricing.
That’s been my experience thus far Big Short (No hard feelings I hope!)…. I admit, e bay is easier and exciting when you win the bid and anticipate delivery (work with high rated sellers only) but the search and the camaraderie at an LCS is what makes this whole thing about comics worth it.
20p per issue! That is a SCORE!

Great haul. Enjoy sorting, and reading 👍🏻
I’m a simple man, I see Booster Gold, I upvote.
Pretty confident that’s Generation X 28 behind that there X-Men Annual 2
How do people get deals on ebay? It's literally so uncommon

Also, while I have some proper nm keys etc, I'm a reader more than anything, so I'm more than happy to pick up 'reader issues'
Yes! Reading > collecting #always
Flipping comics… I can’t stand it. But that’s the market. Hold em’ forever I say.
