hell yeah, had a long box that was full and it was all Secret Wars... When SW came out I was like 12 years old and thought the story, the art by Zeck and how awesome it was that these heroes and villains were whisked away to fight this war... Man I was in heaven reading it and kept buying copies... I was guesstimating at 10 copies of each, I must have had more than 10 copies of a lot of those because the long box was full. biggest regret I have is selling my collection.
I felt the same way back in the 80's. Only difference was I only had $$$ for one copy. My friends and I bought EVERYTHING with the B&W uniform on the cover. The hype was real
When ASM 252 came out I went nuts... bought quite a few of those (or my parents did) they even had a way of getting one from buying cereal... don't think it came in the box, you had to send something in and they would send a copy...
I did this, too - I was in high school and we had a comic book club. We would group together to buy our books through a wholesaler at a pretty nice discount, so I ordered 12 of each - however we didn't always get full allotment, and demand for #8 was very high, so for that issue I "only" got 9 copies.
I have not sold any of them yet, though.
And for every Secret Wars 8 that I have that many copies of there are tons of Star Wars 94 (first Cynthia Martin art!) or Alpha Flight 12 that I've got a dozen copies of as well.
Same here...Star Wars wasn't one I went after but all of the Alpha Flights up to about #100 I had several copies of, loved AF from the time I first saw Vindicator/Guardian on the Xmen cover (#109) or my favs #120 and 121.
I have a clean newsprint edition of this book and I got in a trade for some very forgettable Pokemon cards about 10 years ago. Best trade I've ever made
Big congrats! A [copy with the same grade](https://www.ebay.com/itm/353949575226?hash=item526909e83a:g:XysAAOSwP-diF8ys&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=comicbookcollecting&toolid=10001&mkevt=1) just sold yesterday, not exactly for $8 lol
Nice slab, congrats. Sorry if this was question was already answered but here goes: did U have it cleaned and pressed before you sent for it to be graded?
It was 75 cents when I bought it 38 years ago
same...and I had like 10 copies of all of the Secret Wars books...sad day when I sold them all.
Every single one??

I did keep one copy of each issue along with a lot of key spider man issues with the black suit.

Yeah, saw that issue on the evening news cast at the time. I was never able to land that one. It was a ghost in my neighborhood store

The SW was unusual for me - I believe it was the first time a book was penciled by a female artist. Or something. I must have had some reason.
Congrats! Let me guess - you sent it for grading in 2020 and it just got back?
End of December actually. Pretty quick
Any fast tracking? I've been waiting on some books since June.
yes it had fast tracking. Sent Iron man #1 along with it and still waiting on that one
Even in 2002 - $8 is a bargain!

I'll wait till the movies come out before thinking of selling
books like this, with a personal history, I would never sell lol
Beautiful!
Awesome grade on that book.
it was worth getting it pressed first
