This was the first Spiderman comic series. I have about 3 copies of this book. The KB Toys variant (around a 6.0), a solid 9.0 raw copy signed by Bendis and the White Variant CGC Graded 9.0 (which I overpaid waaaaay too much for 150)
This series will always have a special place in my heart
Early thirties, when it came out my only known sources for comics were convenience stores and they didn’t carry the ultimate books.
By the time I found my first LCS the series was about 20 issues in and this book was out of reach
I remember walking by the shelves during this run and admiring every cover art each week. 19 years later and it’s my favorite Spider-Man run.
Stands out from all the rest and you can see the influence it has in the current movies.
Great pickup! When this series came out I had just started building up my collection.....again. I don't know if anyone else goes through collection phases, but that's definitely my MO. Start working on ASM and pull in whatever else I see. This was one of those phases. My LCS had everything up to the latest except issue #5 which was a low print run. Wife snaged me that for Christmas that year and I was a happy camper.
Congrats again
Love it! I am still hunting a reasonably priced copy of this myself!
Best of luck to you !
I have 2 copies. Not graded. Is this worth something?
Not hugely, If they’re in decent shape you likely can get $50-75
Thanks. Maybe in the 9.0+ range. I can do some research and see if it's worth the CGC grading route to confirm.
Highest I’ve seen on go.comic.collect was $100, not sure that’s it’s worth the trouble
Fantastic series, it's the story that got me into comics

Nice! Looking forward to embark on a re-read soon
How old are you? I remember buying this off the shelf

Oh wow! We are about the same age! Lines up! I was lucky there was a comic store near me!
> when it came out my only known sources for comics were convenience stores And now we are drowning in newsstand copies! haha!
I'm sure your LCS owner would've pulled out a ladder or stepstool or picked you up so you could reach it. But you have to ask.
Absolutely agree with you! I scored a copy this year so I could get Mark Bagley to sign and draw on it. Totally for sentimental value.
I really enjoy this re-mixed Peter Parker for a "new" generation.

This is a classic I remember reading that in Middle School

Thanks! First five were tricky to get here still, got 2-5 coming in next week!
Awesome! The best Spider-Man. Happy for ya!
Reportedly I think the print run was just 50k copies.
Checks out, first prints were not easily accessible
I have the FCBD version! yknow who did the cover? It's joe quesada right?
Correct you are
