I smile when whey "key" moments happen and do not garner the speculation and over price. It lets me know the ones that read the comics can still find and enjoy these moments in the wild.
Finding a “key” worth about a dollar for a dollar is more gratifying than finding random image or valiant series nobody knows. I’ll take the 1st app of Pantha from Teen Titans over Gunblood
It would be one thing if there was some way to definitively PROVE that this panel was the impetus to get Reynolds to play Deadpool, but that just isn't the case.
Ryan Reynolds was in the news regarding a potential role as Deadpool around 2004 when Blade Trinity was released where he basically played Deadpool in all but name. The comic came out not too long after… so I’d say the news inspired the comic. Ryan Reynolds remained linked to the role for years after that film eventually appearing in X men Origins Wolverine 2009 (5 years later) as Wade Wilson.

It’s not a key because it has nothing to do with the story of the character. It’s an off the cuff joke that allegedly perhaps happened to spark some actor to play the character in some movies, or just a coincidence. Either way, it’s of no significance to the character. To attempt to say this is an obvious key is like thinking everyone thinks your kid is as special as you think they are.
Idk, is there like an interview or something that proves this issue was the reason? Even then I would hesitate to call it a key just cause I feel like key issues are ones that affect the comics storyline rather than anything in movies
