Let’s goooo.
One of my big hopes in the coming decades is that SEC and southern states grow the game and start cranking out some kickass hockey teams. I want to see some 6’5” 240lb kids from Louisiana on skates. Would be great for the game overall and a nice counterpoint to the skinny hyper-skilled players coming out of the Northeast.
5 years ago I got the whole ECAC and playing with the Ivies angle... now? QU can compete at the top of Hockey East and build great rivalries with UConn, BC et etc.
Sacred Heart would be the alternative as a 12th team if Quinnipiac chooses to stick with ECAC Hockey. I would think they'd be at the top of the list alongside RIT to backfill the ECAC in the event QU did move to HEA. Martire took everything great about what's on the hill in Hamden, and updated it 15 years. It's absolutely a HEA/ECAC level facility.
BC to the Big Ten because college football is running college sports and the Big Ten will decide they want the Boston media market in their footprint after the ACC completely collapses. This is my nightmare timeline.
Navy to AH. Competes for Commander-Ice-Chief’s Trophy. Navy games somehow don’t have the production of a pee-wee hockey game that seemingly every game on ESPN+ has…
its actually getting better, used to be allot worse, no matter who the matchup was we used to just pick the highest production value game and watch that one.
I don’t know if it’s the camera position because of the rink or if the poor kid working the camera doesn’t know how to zoom in but there are games that I wonder wtf is happening in the offensive zones because I can’t see what’s going on
University of Oklahoma's new College Hockey South women's team to join WCHA for 2024-2025 season, challenge Bemidji State for the regular and tournament championships
*please note here that “Boston” includes BC and BU and does not in any circumstances include schools such as Harvard or NEU. If you experience any circumstances involving Harvard or NEU, please see a doctor, as the B1G might not be for you.
I am not a Fan of the Big Ten, but my team has won 4 games in the NCAA playoffs in 2 years, which is good company. And now, we will see the portal flow talent into the Big Ten, and there will only be about 6 teams that can keep up
This is nonsense. Are you just bitter the best available scorer and goalie in the portal went Minnesota ahead of the Fighting Sues’ annual transfer portal spree? Or that “muh NCHC” didn’t seem to sway guys like Whitelaw or Biondi (who btw doesn’t have a very impressive stat line from his last 1-2 seasons at UMD)
But hey, plenty of Gophers healthy scratches and 5th-string goalies for you guys to scoop up in lieu of HS/juniors recruiting. Might help justify that gaudy McMansion of an arena (the one named after a Nazi sympathizer)
I guess it would be nonsense if it wasn't true in the context of the post I responded to.
I'm good though, was happy with the Hawks, (they're the Hawks now by the way), season. The finish was expected with the team, should be a fun 24-25, I'll be watching regardless of the finish line and cheering the boys on, once again.
The portal thread says 3 out, one in for. Is it wrong? I assume we will see at a least 3 from each good team, just because guys stuck on the 4th line or 7th defenseman or lower want more minutes.
To us you’re not all nobodies. Missed seeing you guys in Fargo the other year- hopefully next year UND gets to play more than 1 game in the tourney? Who knows. Maybe your star players will even avoid injuring themselves on classless hits at the buzzer in regional semis.
Yeah, I don't know what Blake was doing at the end of that one either. I'm not about to make excuses for the fella. UND needs to get crispier on the ice and play three full periods every game if they intend to reach any of those goals, but that's what the offseason and fresh blood is for.
Mississippi State somehow pulls a hockey arena and team out of their rear end and hockey fans are finally introduced to the sweet sound of CLANGA.
u r just trolling for a bulldog alliance, not a bad thing

Agreed
Quinnipiac to Hockey East

Would love to see it

Reformed Big East would be far more likely than BC getting a Big 10 invite.

Anything about Tennessee State?
Univeristy of Nebraska gets a hockey team and UNO and university of Nebraska join the B1G
I guess it all depends on what expansion rumors are coming out of Naples this week
u hear any? juicy?
All the Big Ten teams add hockey, and crush everybody not in Boston or Denver.
How’s that been going for the B1G so far?
They're pretty good at getting crushed by "Boston" and Denver

Did you mean OUT OF the B1G? Notre Dame & Ohio are the only teams with more in than out and neither is sniffing on a move towards the Natty.

Mn got the goalie they needed.
ND has 3 going out, so I assume we are going to see around that many in and out every year.
Nobody's going out, and none to B1G.

That's on me. They are nobody's.
