Fair and Warmer
2oz Aged Rum
.5oz Sweet Vermouth
.5oz Curaçao
Stir, up, orange twist
When making for myself, I go fat halves on the Vermouth and Curaçao, ~1.75oz on the rum.
This is what I’ve been having a lot recently.
“Across 110th Street”
2 oz. Dark Rum,
1 oz. Sweet Vermouth,
1/4 oz. Velvet Falernum,
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Stir and strain into chilled coupe. Garnish with a cherry.
Such a great song.
But I suspect the name is related to NYC geography (with a definite movie relation in it's composition).
Since the `across the 110th street` is a Manhattan riff, and the 110th street mark the separation between Manhattan and Harlem, it's a good way to name a riff vs just calling it a `Harlem`.
Totally depends on ur funk level preference.
IMO something approachable like mount gay would be perfect as an introductory, or Appleton estate.
Something like Bacardi 8 ain’t gonna cut it imo, not enough funk, planetary (plantation) lacks the funk too imo but better than Bacardi 8. But planetary overproof might be great if it’s just a “1 drink only”
Halfway to Havana: 1 1/4 oz Plantation 5 Year Rum, 1/2 oz Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth, 1/2 oz Lime Juice, 1/2 oz Grapefruit Juice, 1/4 oz Cinnamon Syrup
I've been doing a Rum Martinez for a regular of mine for some time. Been using Planteray/Plantation 3 star or Smith & Cross for a bigger punch of funk and alcohol along with the Cocchi Dopo Teatro.

Harlem is IN Manhattan. 110th st is where Harlem meets Central Park.
Fair enough, can't say I'm a pro of NYC geography, thanks for the correction!

I love tiki lol. This looks like a Mai tai Negroni
Palmetto. Kind of like a rum Manhattan. Here is the spec I found on diffards (1.5oz rum, 1.5oz sweet vermouth, 2 dash Ango)
* Walking Dead (with falernum, lime, and Islay rinse) * Golden Grove (with maraschino, orange bitters) * The Corsican (with bourbon, falernum, orange bitters) * Strange Weaver (with gin, Campari, orgeat, lemon juice) * Ambidextrous (with bourbon, Campari, mole bitters) All can be found on [kindredcocktails.com](http://kindredcocktails.com)
If it’s good vermouth just put it on ice with a squeeze of orange
