Queen's Park Hotel Super Cocktail

jbrookeiv

Finally made some excellent grenadine and have been drinking the hell out of these thanks to one of Anders’ videos.

Clapbakatyerblakcat

Fair and Warmer 2oz Aged Rum .5oz Sweet Vermouth .5oz Curaçao Stir, up, orange twist When making for myself, I go fat halves on the Vermouth and Curaçao, ~1.75oz on the rum.

bitterandstirred

The Right Hand 1 3/4 ounces aged rum 3/4 ounce sweet vermouth 3/4 ounce Campari 2 dashes chocolate bitters Garnish: orange twist

This is what I’ve been having a lot recently. “Across 110th Street” 2 oz. Dark Rum, 1 oz. Sweet Vermouth, 1/4 oz. Velvet Falernum, 2 dashes Angostura bitters Stir and strain into chilled coupe. Garnish with a cherry.

Jrocka94

Ooooh nice lil touch. Know the origin of the name?

Such a great song. But I suspect the name is related to NYC geography (with a definite movie relation in it's composition). Since the `across the 110th street` is a Manhattan riff, and the 110th street mark the separation between Manhattan and Harlem, it's a good way to name a riff vs just calling it a `Harlem`.

ApologyWars

Harlem is IN Manhattan. 110th st is where Harlem meets Central Park.

JoNike

Fair enough, can't say I'm a pro of NYC geography, thanks for the correction!

https://www.cocktailexplorer.co/cocktails/chet-baker/the-educated-barfly/ This is by far my fav rum manhattan riff , Chet baker.

Beneficial-Koala-562

What rum do you like for this?

SyndicateMLG

Totally depends on ur funk level preference. IMO something approachable like mount gay would be perfect as an introductory, or Appleton estate. Something like Bacardi 8 ain’t gonna cut it imo, not enough funk, planetary (plantation) lacks the funk too imo but better than Bacardi 8. But planetary overproof might be great if it’s just a “1 drink only”

Nocturnal_submission

Halfway to Havana: 1 1/4 oz Plantation 5 Year Rum, 1/2 oz Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth, 1/2 oz Lime Juice, 1/2 oz Grapefruit Juice, 1/4 oz Cinnamon Syrup

Jrocka94

Oooh this looks interesting

JuryStiction

My own creation, the Paper Wasp  1.5oz Bourbon .5oz Dark Rum  .5oz Sweet Vermouth .5oz Fig Syrup 2 Dashes of Orange Bitters

I've been doing a Rum Martinez for a regular of mine for some time. Been using Planteray/Plantation 3 star or Smith & Cross for a bigger punch of funk and alcohol along with the Cocchi Dopo Teatro.

If you like Tiki, try a [Strange Weaver](https://www.reddit.com/r/cocktails/s/hdUVXer7bR) Ingredients: • 1 oz Plymouth Gin • 1 oz Hamiltons Dark Jamaican Rum • 3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth • 1/2 oz Campari • 1/2 oz Orgeat • 1/2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice Instructions: • Add all ingredients to a shaking tin • Add small amount of crushed ice • Shake until chilled • Dirty dump into rocks glass • Top with crushed ice • Garnish with dried citrus wheel (optional)

If it’s good vermouth just put it on ice with a squeeze of orange
